Madeleine McCann: Blonde Child Seen In Morocco
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY MAIL front page: “Could this be Maddie?”
Readers see a picture of a child being carried on a woman’s back - “The intriguing picture being probed by Interpol.”
Pages 10 and 11: “Could this really be Maddie?”
This is the picture of a girl “in the clutches of a group of Moroccans”. The picture was taken four weeks ago near Tangiers by Spaniard Clara Torres.
DAILY MIRROR front page: “MADDY IN MOROCCO?”
Readers see the same picture. The Full “astonishing story” is on pages 4 and 5.
Pages 4 and 5: “COULD IT BE?” Less the full story than another question.
“GERRY: I KNOW WE WILL BE CLEARED” – Gerry McCann says he and his wife “wanted to be eliminated from the enquiry as quickly as possible”. Some news.
THE SUN front page: “MOROCCO PHOTO SENSATION. IS THIS MADDIE?”
The picture is “sensational”. It has been described as “convincing”, but by whom is not said.
Pages 4 and 5: “GERRY & KATE: IT COULD BE HER – MADDIE PARENTS HOPE AT SIGHTING SENSATION.”
Clara Torres is talking on Spanish radio. She looks at the photo. Says she: “It sent shivers down my spine.”
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “NOW A ‘PHOTO’ OF MADELEINE IN MOROCCO.”
‘Photo’ is placed in quotes lest readers mistake the picture for a ‘SNAP’ or a ‘SHOT’.
Spanish Government official Jose Herrero Arcas says: “The National Police received a photograph by email taken by a young Spanish couple who believe it shows Madeleine McCann. The quality of the photograph is not very clear and it was taken from around 200 metres away. However, the National Police are taking the claim seriously enough to have sent it on to their colleagues at Interpol. I cannot give any more information than that.”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE – AMAZING PHOTO IN MOROCCO.”
Pages 4 and 5: “MADDIE SEEN IN MOROCCO – Bombshell new photo is probed by Interpol.”
THE TIMES front page: “Police start investigation into ‘picture in Morocco of Madeleine McCann’.”
Page 5: “New photograph shows child like Madeleine on African woman’s back.”
A source close to the McCanns tells one and all: “The McCanns are not going to get their hopes up until the photograph has been sent for forensic examination.” And, dare it be said, a DNA test.
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “Is this Madeleine in Morocco?” The search for the missing child has taken a “dramatic turn”.
Page 9: “Gerry McCann is “confident” he and his wife will be cleared. A source tells us: “It is very unlikely that British police would question the McCanns on behalf of the Portuguese now.”
Robert Murat responds to claims by nanny Charlotte Pennington that on the night of Madeleine’s disappearance he was by the McCann family apartment: “I certainly was not there that night. At no point was I there.”

All under the priest’s nose
many watch as horror grows
Ms. McGuiness flipped her lid
as soon as she heard the child was hid
Clarence oh Clarence to the rescue
talking till his face is blue
Unless he finds Ms. Madeleine
Clarence will never spin again
A plan to cover the parents sin
Mr. Clarence legacy in the end
Clarence will soon be notarized
as the UK booby prize

1066, millisoreja, I disagree, Bishra is really quite like her, apart for the distinguishing coloboma and difference in eye color.

she wanted to be for once on the telli like others. Loteria primitiva, if not 3′000′000, at least on helltel.

I’ve been away for a week, so just catching up on the news -
What about the account from the Mark Warner nanny who saw the family together late in the afternoon on May 3rd and also spotted Robert Murat outside the reception area ” just looking” on the night Madeleine disappeared. Did she already know him or his business associate, Sergei Malinka, I wonder? It seems RM was often about the club.

just as much as other blonde girls at that age.
September 27th, 2007 at 8:13 am
1062 millisoreja, your link give Bishra’s age as 3, rather than 5. A pity people can’t get their facts right…which do you think is correct. I agree with your feelings about the way this family were described - the reports I read spoke of a “gang” of Moroccans, which says “criminals” straight away. There is no excuse for this king of reporting… but it is not the fault of the tourist who took the photo… she had nothing to do with the headlines.

brandonflours - what is your point? I think everyone can find their way to the website without you needing to post the entire content.

Bushra Binhisa, the 5-year-old Moroccan child looks remarkably like Madeleine. Well spotted Clara Torres. This goes to show how successful the Find Madeleine campaign has been. Is there anyone left who would not recognise her?

Is anyone here still following the case of Ylenia Lenhard, the five year old Swiss girl from Appenzell, supposedly murdered by Hans Urs von Aesch, who lived in Benimantell, Alicante?
The official story is that von Aesch was not a paedophile (according to his wife), but rather a suicidal psychopath, and that he acted alone, despite witness sightings of him with at least one other man, perhaps two.
Then there was the extraordinary shooting of a “passer-by” in the forest , along with the alleged suicide of von Aesch. The weapon used to shoot the passer-by was not found for weeks - it was only discovered in the forest, near the site of the shooting, after the discovery of Ylenia’s body in a shallow grave ….in a part of the forest which had been searched three times by police with sniffer dogs.
There is something wrong with this story..
Does anyone have any new thoughts on this? The story is being neglected by the English-speaking press and I think it is too soon to dismiss the possibility of links with Madeleine McCann’s disappearance. There is a known paedophile ring in Alicante.
Le Matin’s report of Ylenia’s funeral quotes one of the mourners, Theo Bosch, as saying he is sure von Aesch must have murdered other children. So far it has not been revealed how Ylenia died, but authorities say there were no signs of violence or sexual abuse.

Back to the case of Madeleine - was the sighting of a large black car in the supermarket car park on the night she disappeared ever explained? He scent was traced to the car park and it has been suggested she might have wandered out of the apartment looking for her parents. However, none of the theories of abduction or wandering off explain the scent of a corpse identified by the cadaver dogs and the blood and DNA on the apartment window.
In both cases there is much that does not add up.

I think in Zinat they are having a good laugh. Nobody of the village would have thought that a week ago.
Bouchra Ahmed Ben Aissa, another famous girl and at least alive. I really hope the family can make some money on this and don’t have to be called ‘tramps’ by bulldump, the upper class racist (130 148), who can spend his time in front of the computer eating junk food and feeling himself better then the entire world, very limited believing often used throughout the British Empire, which will have lost with the McCanns the last good reputation.

For Kate and I it has been incredibly difficult to come home without Madeleine but particularly in such circumstances
majority of people in this world are good.
Kate and I have been very busy with our legal advisers as we want to be eliminated from the inquiry as soon as possible and start concentrating wholeheartedly again on the search for our daughter
Clarence will try and minimise the impact of the huge media interest in Madeleine’s disappearance on us, as we try and return slowly towards as normal a life as is possible.

Being give the keys of the church is not a surprise.
In the ‘old days’ churches were always unlocked so that people could go in and gain comfort at their time of need without having to wait until a service was taking place and the priest / vicar was present.
Sadly this changed when crime took over and things would go missing from the church. They had to lock the doors between services.
Giving the McCanns the keys was just saying ‘I cannot leave the church unlocked for you but have the keys so it is there for you when ever you want it’
Thats compassion and I do not think that the priest would be in trouble over it.

Gerry’s Blog/Diary
Day 144 - 24/09/2007
It is just over 2 weeks since we returned home from Portugal. The major news in that time is that we have not been charged with any offences regarding Madeleine’s disappearance. It is encouraging that the prosecutor has stated that all lines of enquiry remain open and we have not given up hope of finding Madeleine alive. It is good to see at least some attention re-focussing on finding Madeleine.
Sean and Amelie have settled back in at home very well but they do miss their older sister and we talk about her every day. For Kate and I it has been incredibly difficult to come home without Madeleine but particularly in such circumstances. Our family and friends have rallied round again as they have throughout this entire nightmare and they have also helped keep on top of the huge amount of mail from well wishers. At times our kitchen has looked like a sorting office! We would like to thank everyone for their support. It helps us keep sight of the fact that the great majority of people in this world are good.
Kate and I have been very busy with our legal advisers as we want to be eliminated from the inquiry as soon as possible and start concentrating wholeheartedly again on the search for our daughter. We are very confident this will happen when all the facts are presented together. We are very grateful and thankful to have several businessmen who have pledged financial support to cover legal costs and we were delighted Clarence Mitchell agreed to help us as an official spokesman. It is scary and daunting to imagine how we could have managed to deal with these latter ‘developments’ without such offers of support and commitment. Clarence will try and minimise the impact of the huge media interest in Madeleine’s disappearance on us, as we try and return slowly towards as normal a life as is possible. Although we will NEVER give up on Madeleine, we have to find the right balance for Sean and Amelie so they too do not suffer unnecessarily.
In the meantime we will continue to cooperate fully with the Portuguese authorities. I will update the blog periodically especially if there

I mean let’s face it, Spudgun’s “video” isn’t even a video. It’s a powerpoint presentation. If you’re going to create a YouTube video, at least use streaming media. How anyone can say it’s great is beyond me.
Have you seen what else is out there? Evidently not or you’d change your mind’s real quick.
I keep referring back to Nononethere’s post. Basically, all Spudgun did was take excerpts from his own posts and apply it to this YouTube “presentation”. It’s NOT a Video. It’s the equivalent of ppt. Terribly dull and not the least bit creative. Lifting images from a variety of newspaper sites and slapping them together with some edit is mere child’s play.
Ho hum..where’s that spec of paint drying on the wall. Let’s have some entertainment on here. No wonder the Americans have all left. The entertainment factor on this forum dried up eons ago!!!!

trust that there are plenty of people who will agree that it is a crap video. I can not believe that when he is not on the Anorak site he is making videos about his posts on the Anorak site. Sad.
The BEST post from today’s forum. Such analysis deserves a round of applause.

The Americans don’t care about this. They have Bush to worry about, who just announced Mandela was dead. Truly mental, that man. There is an article in a Chicago news outlet today. “Media coverage of missing Madeleine McCann makes many people uneasy” .
