THE SUN front page: “MOROCCO PHOTO SENSATION. IS THIS MADDIE?”
The picture is “sensational”. It has been described as “convincing”, but by whom is not said.
Pages 4 and 5: “GERRY & KATE: IT COULD BE HER – MADDIE PARENTS HOPE AT SIGHTING SENSATION.”
Clara Torres is talking on Spanish radio. She looks at the photo. Says she: “It sent shivers down my spine.”
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “NOW A ‘PHOTO’ OF MADELEINE IN MOROCCO.”
‘Photo’ is placed in quotes lest readers mistake the picture for a ‘SNAP’ or a ‘SHOT’.
Spanish Government official Jose Herrero Arcas says: “The National Police received a photograph by email taken by a young Spanish couple who believe it shows Madeleine McCann. The quality of the photograph is not very clear and it was taken from around 200 metres away. However, the National Police are taking the claim seriously enough to have sent it on to their colleagues at Interpol. I cannot give any more information than that.”

A source close to the McCanns tells one and all: “The McCanns are not going to get their hopes up until the photograph has been sent for forensic examination.” And, dare it be said, a DNA test.
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “Is this Madeleine in Morocco?” The search for the missing child has taken a “dramatic turn”.
Page 9: “Gerry McCann is “confident” he and his wife will be cleared. A source tells us: “It is very unlikely that British police would question the McCanns on behalf of the Portuguese now.”
Robert Murat responds to claims by nanny Charlotte Pennington that on the night of Madeleine’s disappearance he was by the McCann family apartment: “I certainly was not there that night. At no point was I there.”

You can see the girls legs under the striped apron and where the feet cross. the woman has something round her upper body tied at the chest obviously keeping the child in place.

It is true, children DO adapt quickly, and possibly, since Arab people are known to have more tightly knit family units, she is feeling more “loved”. Having said that, she must miss her siblings, if not her parents.
Also, her parents DID neglect her, no doubt about it, but what a price they are paying for that! People call accusing them of infanticide, playacting and much more.

From your interesting posts I feel I can say with certainty that should you and Mr SSS take a well-earned foreign holiday with the magnificent 7, you would not separate yourselves from your children every day and every night as the McCanns appear to have done on their “family” holidays.

If you look at the photo, some parts of the green background seem more blurred than the others, especially near the shadow on the woman’s face (the one who carries the girl). This usually happens when photoshop “rubber stamp” command is used repeatedly to clone and move elements of the image. Unless the camera lens were dirty (greasy fingers?) the protograph could be a mix of several images. Note also, that there are no arms or legs visible, so the child would have been tied, but no harness or cloth or scarf is visible.
The photo could have been simply - real blurred Madeleine photoshopped into
the image, or- Maddy + background into women… it is not difficult to do. What is the sourse of information that the photo was sent to police? “Sources close to Mitchell” again?
This is all only my personal opinion, however I worked with Photoshop professionally as a company artist.

132 sss - I appreciate that most parents do find time to spend with their children and love them dearly, and care for them and protect their safety, which i dont doubt you do. I also am a mum. but these parents clearly did not care for their children in the same way we do. when i suggested maddie probably isnt frightened by now, i mean its a long time now she has been parted from her parents in her short little life, and kids adapt quickly. i dont think its true to say the child in the photo looks frightened, its probably more of a daily life to her now. if of course it is maddie, which in my opinion it couldnt possibly be.

Toni & SSS - fully agree - my inlaws phoned one day to say that they were positive it was was son in a”blurry” background picture taken at a rugby match. The photo was in a newspaper. They had no idea that we had gone to the match - (we live 14000 km away from them) and so help me it was - they see us once a year and they could recognise their grandson - so surely a mother would know too??????
