‘Photo’ is placed in quotes lest readers mistake the picture for a ‘SNAP’ or a ‘SHOT’.
Spanish Government official Jose Herrero Arcas says: “The National Police received a photograph by email taken by a young Spanish couple who believe it shows Madeleine McCann. The quality of the photograph is not very clear and it was taken from around 200 metres away. However, the National Police are taking the claim seriously enough to have sent it on to their colleagues at Interpol. I cannot give any more information than that.”

Page 9: “Gerry McCann is “confident” he and his wife will be cleared. A source tells us: “It is very unlikely that British police would question the McCanns on behalf of the Portuguese now.”
Robert Murat responds to claims by nanny Charlotte Pennington that on the night of Madeleine’s disappearance he was by the McCann family apartment: “I certainly was not there that night. At no point was I there.”

Puzzled I did not begin the personal attacks I have responded only like with like which is evident if you wish to read back on any of my postings.
If there is a personal attack from me you will see that it is preceeded by one that I recieved from same.
The trouble with the many here that enjoy the mockery of this case is that when the attacks turn back on them they start whingeing like a crowd of babies a clear case of giving it but not being able to take it.

Can I turn the photo argumant on its head? (bearing in mind I don’t think it is Madeleine)…
Just supposing this woman, the tourist who took this photo, had looked at it and then done nothing about it of it.
Then maybe in 6 months time Madeleine was found and it was her in the photo… wouldn’t everyone be shouting… ‘why didn’t she say something at the time?’
Better to be safe than sorry, surely?

i personally think whoever supplied the picture should be questioned as to their intentions.
whilst examining the image I noticed that at 200 meters the girl in orange is almost equidistant from the woman carrying the girl, yet the girl in orange is fairly well defined as oppossed to the grainy, almost sillhouette veiw of the woman carrying the child.

Jon - the problem is as such - if and when Maddie is found - if she is alive then they will be “forgiven” - because Mddie now needs her loving parents love to get through the trauma of the abduction. If she is found dead, then all sympathies will be with the family and nothing will still be done. So where do we stand. Is child negligence now an “permitted crime”

204 - Jon. I agree with you - the focus should be on finding Madeleine. (Actually I think you will probably not be able to find one single person on this sight who would not agree with that, by the way!).
So, what should the PJ do?
There are statistics to show that in most missing children cases it is someone very close to the child who is responsible for the disapppearance. (Don’t have the link to hand, someone posted in a couple of days ago). It is therefore both logical and fair that the PJ investigate the McCanns. If I were innocent and in their shoes I would be begging the PJ to ask me anything they want, search anything they want etc. if it helped move the case forward and shine the spot-light once again on the search for my little girl.
But the McCanns are not doing this. I ask simply ‘why not’?. Why do THEY not lead by example and assist the PJ in all ways possible.
My perception of what most posters here are doing is trying to work out what has happened to Madeleine. It is not a blind witch-hunt to hang the McCanns, although that might be your perception - in which case. Ok. We will have to agree to differ.
