The picture is “sensational”. It has been described as “convincing”, but by whom is not said.
Pages 4 and 5: “GERRY & KATE: IT COULD BE HER – MADDIE PARENTS HOPE AT SIGHTING SENSATION.”
Clara Torres is talking on Spanish radio. She looks at the photo. Says she: “It sent shivers down my spine.”

‘Photo’ is placed in quotes lest readers mistake the picture for a ‘SNAP’ or a ‘SHOT’.
Spanish Government official Jose Herrero Arcas says: “The National Police received a photograph by email taken by a young Spanish couple who believe it shows Madeleine McCann. The quality of the photograph is not very clear and it was taken from around 200 metres away. However, the National Police are taking the claim seriously enough to have sent it on to their colleagues at Interpol. I cannot give any more information than that.”

A source close to the McCanns tells one and all: “The McCanns are not going to get their hopes up until the photograph has been sent for forensic examination.” And, dare it be said, a DNA test.
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “Is this Madeleine in Morocco?” The search for the missing child has taken a “dramatic turn”.
Page 9: “Gerry McCann is “confident” he and his wife will be cleared. A source tells us: “It is very unlikely that British police would question the McCanns on behalf of the Portuguese now.”
Robert Murat responds to claims by nanny Charlotte Pennington that on the night of Madeleine’s disappearance he was by the McCann family apartment: “I certainly was not there that night. At no point was I there.”

What is absolutely clear is that if bodily fluids from a corpse were found in the car boot (or the apartment or anywhere else that wasn’t the graveyard), then Madeleine is dead. Hire cars at holiday resorts are not habitually used to transport dead bodies and, even if the twins DNA is similar to Madeleine’s, they are obviously alive.

PIXIE I have not defended the parents once on this. You are 100% right. But I am angry with the brainless speculation that has led to wasted resources and the deliberated attempts to smear them without evidence to have hindered the investigation. The end result ? The PJ are reported as having said to the tourist who took the photo that it was impossible to be Madeleine, ’she is dead’.
THis means that the investigation has moved from a missing person case to a murder enquiry. Is this not dispicable?

If Madeleine was smuggled to Morocco, then when and how was it done. Taking into account the alleged sighting by David Payne at 7pm, the first question must be:-
Did David Payne go to the Tapas Bar with the Tapas 9?
If he did not, what was he doing in their apartment at 7pm?
Where did he spend his evening and what was he doing?
If the McCanns had staged a fake abduction to Morocco, the person removing Madeline would have needed about 3 hours to get to Algeciras and board a ferry, unless she was taken out via the marina, in which case they only needed 30 minutes.
It is then 1 1/2 hours by Seacat or 2 1/2 hrs by ferry from Spain to Morocco.
As it is just 1 1/2 hrs to the Spanish border the abductor would have had to have left at 8.30 at the latest to get to the border. Allowing for hold up and a safety margin, they would have left before 8pm.
The possibility certainly works, and no forensic evidence whatsoever.

I have checked back,also in the portugese press and what you say 252 is to my surprise correct,as I understand it bodily fluids from a corpse are impossible to confuse with any other bodily fluids,as they are a product of putrefication or decomposing flesh,I earnestly hope that this is not the case,but the PJ seem to be convinced of their findings.

This morning on Sky News at 6 I saw footage of when GM visited Morocco. It looked more like an official visit from a celeb than a guy who’d lost his daughter! He was all smiley and palm shaking, hardly the demeanour of someone in his situation at all!

Photo looks “staged”.. they do not look like Moroccans, the child does not look like Madeleine, and why did photographer just take a photo and leave to at that for days.Why not call police whilst there taking photo and follow the group whilst waiting for police ..after all the rewards is hefty enough. Also Clarence M’s comment that whilst this is dubious, it has taken suspicion off McCann’s and proves they are innocent , is bizarre to put it mildly.

215: jon, you’re right – the parents shouldn’t have left the kids alone. But it’s not just that, is it? It’s a pattern I think.
I don’t know whether you have children…It’s hard to be a parent, that’s true, but going on family holiday and leaving your children EVERY DAY in a crèche is IMHO strange. That’s what you normally do when you have to go to work. But I cannot imagine I would park my child in a crèche and go play tennis/swim/have fun on my own. Sorry, I just can’t.

We know that this was not the only night they left them and that they were not the only ones who did it.
in your case - had there been an accident or a kidnapping I am sure your parents would have been

The McCanns answered both these questions put to themon their first interview - with no remorse and no warning message to other parents.
If you look up the first interview you will see that this is true!
This is what made people want to vomit! - BEFORE we even knew that they were suspects!!!!!!!!

I KNOW the Mccann’s left Madeleine in a situation that led her to be taken.
I KNOW that the Mccanns’s think they did nothing wrong.
I KNOW that the Mccann’s left her on the previous nights.
I KNOW these things to be fact, as the last 2 statements are what the Mccann’s themselves have said.
Anything else is MY opinion and you would be arrogant in the extreme to say my opinion was wrong, since an opinion is neither right nor wrong, it just is!

I only have a few facts.
Madeleine is missing. There has been no body. The investigation wasted much valuable time in trying to frame the parents. and before I have the usual emmotive wails of neglect=child abuse This was a form of child abuse but it was not murder and the evidence to support murder is unsustainable to such an extent that the judge refused to recall the MCs back to Protugal.
The baying mob is still crying for the police to spend time getting a murder conviction at best, a child neglect conviction at worst.
When Madeleine is still unfound and resources until she is are being wasted as the media is frenzied to satiate the mobs and the PJ have been influenced.

I have to say that it appears quite obvious to me that people who believe the McCanns had something to do with Madeleines disappearance are only those who dislike them for their neglectfulness.
The point about their neglect has been made over and over. I agree however, they were very neglectful. But please lets move on and have some balanced views
