This is the picture of a girl “in the clutches of a group of Moroccans”. The picture was taken four weeks ago near Tangiers by Spaniard Clara Torres.

“GERRY: I KNOW WE WILL BE CLEARED” – Gerry McCann says he and his wife “wanted to be eliminated from the enquiry as quickly as possible”. Some news.
THE SUN front page: “MOROCCO PHOTO SENSATION. IS THIS MADDIE?”
The picture is “sensational”. It has been described as “convincing”, but by whom is not said.
Pages 4 and 5: “GERRY & KATE: IT COULD BE HER – MADDIE PARENTS HOPE AT SIGHTING SENSATION.”
Clara Torres is talking on Spanish radio. She looks at the photo. Says she: “It sent shivers down my spine.”
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “NOW A ‘PHOTO’ OF MADELEINE IN MOROCCO.”
‘Photo’ is placed in quotes lest readers mistake the picture for a ‘SNAP’ or a ‘SHOT’.
Spanish Government official Jose Herrero Arcas says: “The National Police received a photograph by email taken by a young Spanish couple who believe it shows Madeleine McCann. The quality of the photograph is not very clear and it was taken from around 200 metres away. However, the National Police are taking the claim seriously enough to have sent it on to their colleagues at Interpol. I cannot give any more information than that.”

A source close to the McCanns tells one and all: “The McCanns are not going to get their hopes up until the photograph has been sent for forensic examination.” And, dare it be said, a DNA test.
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “Is this Madeleine in Morocco?” The search for the missing child has taken a “dramatic turn”.
Page 9: “Gerry McCann is “confident” he and his wife will be cleared. A source tells us: “It is very unlikely that British police would question the McCanns on behalf of the Portuguese now.”
Robert Murat responds to claims by nanny Charlotte Pennington that on the night of Madeleine’s disappearance he was by the McCann family apartment: “I certainly was not there that night. At no point was I there.”

african’s be it in the south or northern africa, childrens hair is kept relatively short, because of heat and dust etc. they are normally protected from the sun too, hence the covering on the adults in the pic. this child being carried clearly has long hair and of light colouring, just a thought

Dont really like the terms pro or anti. They indicate a deliberate ‘emotional’ bias.

You stated that the police tried framed ther McCanns. Not only is that obviously not a fact, it is clear that you do not address this from an impartial perspective.
Lets take your pathetic comment one step further and give me an answer that makes sense because every time I give pro McCanners an opportunity I’m either ignored or their answer cherry picks selective pieces which only serve to promote their ‘trusting mindset’ theories and dont address what I said in the first place. Here goes jonny boy….
If your child had gone missing and you were innocent of involvement would the thought enter your head (as it did with Kate) to declare ‘frame’ BEFORE YOU WERE EVEN INTERVIEWED?
Now Kate and Gerry have been interviewed we would expect surely that they are now EVEN MORE CONVINCED (given the line of questioning) its a frame. And yet. And yet. And yet…. all talk of frame has gone hasnt it?
If Kate’s claim of frame were a genuine cry of innocence then they would be spouting it from the rooftops even more now, wouldnt they?
But of course, if it were the panic response of someone guilty of hiding something then we could expect that on reflection of what they’re dealing with and the studied advice they’ve received, they know that an accusation of frame is a complete non starter and would only lead to suspicion.
I’m sure they hope everyone has forgotten this episode. I haven’t and its yet another clear indication (though not proof alone) that they know something we dont.
But I’m sure you’ll disagree somehow…..

But whatever is going on at least everyone is pro Madeleine.
But there is still a heavy loading towards on the fence and anti’s which isn’t really good for debate, gossip yes, but not debate. But it would be more effective if the ‘pro’ camp could use less emotion and more fact to back their points

What happened to the ‘free speech’ that allows us all to post our views? This forum is becoming more like a military junta every day!

The McCanns have said they will take a lie detector test (source Clarence Mitchell with the proviso that the PJ requested it). This, presumably, is to reassure people that they are telling the truth and have nothing to hide.
Why not then just answer the PJs questions???????????????????? and let us all get on with the gardening!!!!!!!!!!

jon - Madeleine is missing. - Yes she is!
There has been no body.
- The parents said ‘come on then find the body!’ which made people suspicious as it sounded like a gauntlet being thrown and made the police think the body was disposed of by dumping at sea or inceinerated.
The investigation wasted much valuable time in trying to frame the parents.
- Who framed the parents? Was it the British sniffer dogs or was it the British top DNA scientists? Or was it the Portugal police that framed them? How exactly do you frame someone for murder when a child could turn up at any day?
and before I have the usual emmotive wails of neglect=child abuse This was a form of child abuse but it was not murder and the evidence to support murder is unsustainable to such an extent that the judge refused to recall the MCs back to Protugal.
- No jon the judge realised that the McCanns said they would NOT ANSWER any more questions put to them by the police - they had already refused to answer over 40 questions between them - they were remaining silent - but I am sure the friends may not be quite so silent when they get called in!!!!
The baying mob is still crying for the police to spend time getting a murder conviction at best, a child neglect conviction at worst.
- What baying mob? the baying mob who gave money to a fund to find a missing child? The baying mob who waited for some remorse to be shown? The baying mob who would have forgiven them if they had confessed?
This couple are SUSPECTED of KILLING their child and are PROVEN to have NEGLECTED their children- yet still have custody of 2 children!
When Madeleine is still unfound and resources until she is are being wasted as the media is frenzied to satiate the mobs and the PJ have been influenced

Jon – is there any evidence that the PJ actually told her that? “The PJ are reported as having said”….reported by whom? Is this Spanish woman a reliable witness? We don’t know that. Just look at the McCanns and their friends – look how many times they have changed their stories. And I believe that the police would simply say: “Thank you for the photograph, have a nice day”, because normally they keep all information to themselves.
