The picture is “sensational”. It has been described as “convincing”, but by whom is not said.

Clara Torres is talking on Spanish radio. She looks at the photo. Says she: “It sent shivers down my spine.”

‘Photo’ is placed in quotes lest readers mistake the picture for a ‘SNAP’ or a ‘SHOT’.
Spanish Government official Jose Herrero Arcas says: “The National Police received a photograph by email taken by a young Spanish couple who believe it shows Madeleine McCann. The quality of the photograph is not very clear and it was taken from around 200 metres away. However, the National Police are taking the claim seriously enough to have sent it on to their colleagues at Interpol. I cannot give any more information than that.”

A source close to the McCanns tells one and all: “The McCanns are not going to get their hopes up until the photograph has been sent for forensic examination.” And, dare it be said, a DNA test.
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “Is this Madeleine in Morocco?” The search for the missing child has taken a “dramatic turn”.
Page 9: “Gerry McCann is “confident” he and his wife will be cleared. A source tells us: “It is very unlikely that British police would question the McCanns on behalf of the Portuguese now.”
Robert Murat responds to claims by nanny Charlotte Pennington that on the night of Madeleine’s disappearance he was by the McCann family apartment: “I certainly was not there that night. At no point was I there.”

I suspected we were in for another “sighting” and this could be any kid of similar age and hairstyle. Something negative will emerge now-that is the usual pattern.
Any day now new forensic results will be announced in yet another “major breakthrough”-why do we keep falling for all this?
The Mccanns and their hangers-on would protest innocence even if they found her buried in their garden-that would be down to the abductor.
If PJ really do know something we don’t. and they know the body won’t be found, this nonsense will run and run.

584. I’ve been around about 2 weeks. But I tend to ignore the really bad ones, as being black humour or trollism.
It’s not really at Madeleine’s expense because she wont know about it and if she turns up and grows up it’ll be the mainstream media her friends/family will show her not print outs of hundreds and hundreds of posts from a forum.
Also, it’s hardly new. The phrase ‘Sweet F.A.’ comes from the murder of 5 year old Fanny Adams, who had her head chopped off and stuck on a pole at the turn of the last century. The soldiers in the 1st world war said their rotting tasting tinned meat must be made of sweet Fanny Adams - or so the legend goes. That’s far more gross than anything on here.

For those who think Portugal is a wonderful place where the only paedophiles are foreigners - think again .
In June 2003 a massive scandal relating to the abuse of children in care homes led to the arrest of several members of Portugal’s social and political elite - including an ex-ambassador, a TV games show host and the Portuguese employment minister in the Socialist government. Another minister was also implicated.
The state-run Casa Pia “care” homes were a target for wealthy and influential paedophiles. Portugal’s Ministry of Labour and Social Security said 128 children - mostly “deaf mutes” were victims

If the McCanns had the picture why didn’t they send someone to Morocco to investigate it with some of the £1m in the fund?
Why did it take a reporter to do their work free of charge?
Could it be because they know where Madeleine is, and it isn’t Morocco, so they don’t want to waste money sending people on wild goose chases?

What was the McCanns’ motive for feeding this photo to the press pack at this time - (for we know it was them what did it)?
Surely it is is obvious - to put the Anorack hounds off the scent, if only for a day - the McCanns increasingly frantic responses to the very effective analysis on this forum (and of course they and their advisors are reading it careful) tells me one thing loud and clear - this forum has them worried. It is real threat, and they know it.
This forum is a clear and present danger to the McCanns

572 - Do you expect social workers to be with the children 24 hours a day because that is they only way they can ensure no at risk child comes to harm.
Of course there will be times when social workers are unable to prevent such cases, that is a fact of life. Once upon a time at risk children were removed immediately, but thanks again to the Childrens Act 1989, (how many times has that piece of legislation been mentioned in these forums), all care facilities were closed down.
You can’t blame an understaffed proffesion with inadequate funding. Lobby the Government to make additional funds available and reopen childrens homes.

if that was all that people were doing on this site Karen then fine but you have not been here long enough to read the endless cruel comments, rhyming limmericks, sick speculations about people that no one really knows apart from a media campaign launched to help find their missing daughter. I guess the McCanns did not bank on all the jaded sick individuals ready to cry GUILTY of murder before even any charges have been laid. I don’t know if Mods and Admin intended on this site to be full of anti-McCann tag team partners who hi-fi themselves daily over what they think are clever funny comments at the expense of a missing little girl. But that is what it has become, I am a huge minority here. This is not about freedom of speech, this is lynch-mob mentality at its worst. I come back to this site because I think it is important to remind people that there are other bpeople who do not take part in such forums and there are 1000s who think the McCanns are innocent and not just for sentimental reasons. I am looking logically at what the PJ are claiming and none of it rings true to me. I just which this site was about the case and not about joining some club called ANTI-McCANN. Again my conscience is clear.
