The picture is “sensational”. It has been described as “convincing”, but by whom is not said.
Pages 4 and 5: “GERRY & KATE: IT COULD BE HER – MADDIE PARENTS HOPE AT SIGHTING SENSATION.”
Clara Torres is talking on Spanish radio. She looks at the photo. Says she: “It sent shivers down my spine.”
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “NOW A ‘PHOTO’ OF MADELEINE IN MOROCCO.”
‘Photo’ is placed in quotes lest readers mistake the picture for a ‘SNAP’ or a ‘SHOT’.
Spanish Government official Jose Herrero Arcas says: “The National Police received a photograph by email taken by a young Spanish couple who believe it shows Madeleine McCann. The quality of the photograph is not very clear and it was taken from around 200 metres away. However, the National Police are taking the claim seriously enough to have sent it on to their colleagues at Interpol. I cannot give any more information than that.”

DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “Is this Madeleine in Morocco?” The search for the missing child has taken a “dramatic turn”.
Page 9: “Gerry McCann is “confident” he and his wife will be cleared. A source tells us: “It is very unlikely that British police would question the McCanns on behalf of the Portuguese now.”
Robert Murat responds to claims by nanny Charlotte Pennington that on the night of Madeleine’s disappearance he was by the McCann family apartment: “I certainly was not there that night. At no point was I there.”

949. I am not Catholic so can anyone elighten me as to why they pray to a statue of Mary when the commandments says:
4 You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
I also felt a little uneasy at praying in front of a crucifix of christ so prefer to pray straight to the Big G these days.
I am not perfect but the McCanns are claiming to be devout are they not?

But…top marks go to SPUDGUN for the video. Fantastic and it presses all the right buttons.

Is it an apology that is required? An admittance that they shouldn’t have left the children? If so, what is all this debate re. murder/accidental killing/selling children etc etc for?
they might not have thought it was wise for whatever reason they have not to admit that they were wrong to do it, most likely because they are docs, and it all has implications, clearly
- they left their children, and they didn’t accept it was wrong. Is that it? Not saying that this is right - it is not, but is that it?

then after pro mc canns libel posts, i felt i may have implied that he himself had these views, i changed to brandoflour
I am no one else
unlike the couple of posts on duty from pro mc cann who read the same

are humans who believe justice for madeleine comes before sucking up to pr mc cann
and until they confess to their neglect that night or nights before or murder
as the alibi for one seems to imply the other
we will not be silenced

Actually, re 917 plod, (please do forgive my typo above before I receive another ’sic’) I have spent some time on here lurking in the last few weeks, but really, can’t understand GENUINELY how it can be solved, based on what is known as fact.
In all honestly, it is probably a better outcome for Madeleine herself that it was an accident- a terrible accident rather than a) she is alive and being continually abused by a sicko or that b) that she was alive, was abused by a sicko and is now dead or c) she was sold by her parents to someone who may or not be a sicko , her status unknown
But, I have no evidence that the parents are guilty of an accident. I hope that b) and c) are not the case and that the truth is d) that she is somehow still alive , (not having faced (b)) and comes back to them
