Madeleine McCann: Spies, Richard Branson PI And Maddy TV
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE. SPY-IN-SKY PLAN TO FIND HER KIDNAPPER.”
So she was kidnapped. Wasn’t she?
“Satellite and aerial footage as well as internet traffic should be used to help the hunt,” say “intelligence experts”, including Professor Anthony Glees, Director of Brunel University’s Centre for Intelligence and Security Studies. Security is his thing.
Pages 4 and 5: “Riddle of the McCanns’ day out” – Why did the McCanns go to Spain on August 3 and what did they do there? Clarence Mitchell says the TV cameras and journalists tracked their every move.
“Branson: They are innocent” – Richard Branson PI calls it a “grotesque nightmare”. He has donated £100,000 to help the McCanns clear their name. He says the McCanns have “the weight and support of Britain behind them”.
THE SUN front page: “OUTRAGE AS COPS CLAIM MADDIE ‘BURIED IN SPAIN’.”
Pages 6 and 7: “POLICE PROBE LOST 2 HOURS” – Police Claim the McCanns buried Madeleine during a “missing two hours” in Spain.
Kate and Gerry are “shattered”.
Says the Sun:
“SUSPICIOUS the trip was postponed from the day before – because Gerry had intestinal problems.
“’STRANGE’” that the couple from Rothley, Leics, chose to visit Spain on a national holiday, when the shops were shut.
“MYSTERIOUS that the McCanns racked up ‘unjustified mileage’ in their Renault Scenic – hired 25 days after Maddie disappeared.”
A source says a new ad campaign to find Madeleine will start in two weeks.
DAILY MAIL page 3: “Police use CCTV to map McCanns trips.”
As newspaper Correio de Manha reports, Spanish police have given their Portuguese counterparts CCTV footage “showing the Renault Scenic in places in Spain where there was ‘no reason’ for the couple to be.”
A TV series based on Madeleine McCann is being produced in Chile. Says Chilean newspaper El Mercurio: “The case is becoming a soap opera.”
DAILY MIRROR front page: “KATE IS SO FRAGILE. Fears for mum after latest blow.”
Kate McCann’s face is all over the front page. “The anguish is plain to see.” A friend hears that Madeleine had not been found in Morocco: “Kate is so fragile. She’s suffering a devastating disappointment.”
Page 5: “They suffered a devastating blow with the false alarm in Morocco. Kate has crashed.”
“COPS PROBE SPAIN TRIP.”
DAILY STAR pages 6 and 7: “MADDIE DUMPED IN SPAIN.” An “exclusive”.
THE TIMES page 16: Mick Hume says: “The line between investigation and emotive entertainment has disappeared.”
THE TELEGRAPH page 6: “Portuguese focus on McCanns’ Spain trip” – Clarence Mitchell says the McCanns are innocent.
THE GUARDIAN and THE INDEPENDENT: no Madeleine news today.

20 The Real Stig Says:
“That sounds like a brilliant idea. The only problem is the PJ are not going to do that and lose face and since there there is a whif of suspicion about them themselves, they might not want it solved except in the way that suits them.
Perhaps the McCanns could hire him in a private capacity if he took leave.”

Stig, that sounds like a brilliant idea. The only problem is the McCanns are not going to do that and lose face and since there there is a whif of suspicion about them themselves, they might not want it solved except in the way that suits them.
;o) (no offence intended… just showing two sides to every story)

Wasn’t extradition required for Pinochetas he wasn’t an EU Citizen though. I think it’ll be much easier for the PJ to have their sorry asses sent back to Portimao than it was for the Spaniards to try and get hold of kindly Uncle Augusto.

702 yesterday’s thread - Spudgun says (September 28th, 2007 at 2:50 am)
=====================================================
THE SIGNIFICANCE OF SPUDGUN’S VIDEO ON MADELEINE MCCANN
=====================================================
These points (see below) from Spudgun’s post show why the suggestion that Madeleine was killed in a violent attack by one or other parent – more probably Kate McCann, is the most likley explanation so far which fits the known facts.
1) Madeleines blood was spilled in the apartment (Birmingham Forensics have confirmed it likely to be hers, to an unspecified percentage of accuracy).
2) Kate McCann didn’t deny that her blood was in the appartment, suggesting that Maddie might have had a nose bleed. However, she refused to answer why the alledged blood spatter pattern was not commensurate with a nose bleed, and was also unable to say who, if anyone, had cleaned it up. This evidence cannot be attributed to ‘lies, conjecture or slurs’, because the Portuguese media insist it forms part of the PJ’s evidence.
3) The PJ DID find blood residue. Only it was invisible to the naked eye because SOMEONE cleaned it up. And as a brusque, LAPD captain was heard to comment, “If there were no cleaners, and Maddie and the twins didn’t clean it, and you have TWO parents saying that they didn’t clean it, then you have something of a problem”.
4) There has been a credible leak that the PJ have recorded telephone conversations where Kate McCann has admitted to the accidental killing of Madeleine, that WILL also form part of the PJ’s evidence. (NOTE: The McCanns were so alarmed by this statement that they warned their relatives and friends about what to say when speaking on the telephone. Why, why, why if they are innocent?)
5) Birmingham Forensics have stated that the body fluids they have examined DO indicate ‘NON-TRANSFERABLE’ DNA, and is indicative of having been derived from a cadaver.
6) The ‘CADAVER’ dogs who scented positive in both the apartment, the car and on a number of Madeleines toys and Kate’s clothes.
=====================================
SOME FACTS IN THIS CASE - NOT ‘RUMOURS’
=====================================
Remember that the convoluted, unlikely and frankly incredible explanations of the potential problems in the case are indeed FACTS that we can analyse:
FACT 1: The McCanns explain the possibility of Madeleine’s blood flecks in room as a nose bleed
FACT 2: The McCanns explain the same blood flecks in the room by saying that Madeleine grazed her knee on boarding the plane and blood spots might have dropped on to her shoe and fallen off in the apartment
FACT 3: The McCanns explain the possible presenee of Madeleine’s blood flecks on the window-sill in the children’s room as the abductor having walked in through an unlokcked patio door and then climbed out WITH MADELEINE through a window about 3 to 4 feet above the ground
FACT 4: The McCanns said that the smell of death on Kate McCann’s clothing was because she was in close proximity to six corpes in the two weeks before their holiday
FACT 5: The McCanns say that the smell of death on Cuddle Cat was because she often took Cuddle Cat to work where she worked ob corpses
FACT 6: The McCanns said that if Madeleine’s DNA was found in the well of the car, it could be because of Madeleine’s unwashed pyjamas
FACT 7: The McCanns say that if there was the smell of death in the car, it was caused by rotting meat that had to be taken to the local Council tip in the car.
FACT 8: The McCanns say that the abductor may have been in the apartment hiding behind the door to the children’s bedroom when Gerry McCann (alegedly) went to check on the children at 9.05pm on 3 May. A plan of the apartment showing that the door to the childen’s room opens OUTWARDS has been publishd on te Net weeks ago and that plan has not been challenged by the McCanns.
FACT 9: The McCanns tried to explain away why they left Madeleine and the children alone all evening on May 3 because ‘they didn’t want to leave them with strangers’. Yet they were leaving the children with strangers at the kid’s club/creche all day long.
The McCanns and their team need not have come out with ANY of these unlikely tales. The FACT is that they did.
========================================================
THE RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO (A) SPUDGUN AND (B) TEAM MCCANN
========================================================
Finally, Spudgun, do not take too much notice of all the critics of your video. Yes, if you’d had the resources available to the McCanns, you could no doubt have done better. On the subject of music, many of the various ‘Find Madeleine’ videos on the Net use emotive and haunting tuens and lyrics. Absolutely nothing wrong with that; films, documentaries etc. invariably use music to emphasise a point. Let us just review the resources that have so far been made available to Team McCann:
a) A fund of well over £1 million - in a private company controlled by the McCann family, not a charity
b) A double glazing magnate paying Clarence Mitchell - reputed to be £75,000 a year (plus oncosts)
c) Gordon Brown prevailing on the PJ to allow Gerry McCann to make a statement about the sighting of a possible suspect
d) the Head of the Foreign Office’s Media Monitoring Unit was despatched to Praia da Luz within 3 weeks of Madeleine’s ‘disappearance’ and according to his own mouth spent ‘14 hours a day’ assisting the McCanns
e) The Pope
f) The keys of Father Pacheco’s church
g) A guarantee of £100,000 from Sir Richard Branson
h) Sir Philip Green’s private jet
i) At least four very high profile lawyers with international profiles, including two top Portuguese lawyers and, here in the U.K. Michael Caplan (forgot again, sorry. Michael Caplan *Q.C.*)
j) The services of the Control Risks Group of ex-S.A.S. men
k) A Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith, whose duties are to enforce the rule of law in this country, as Spudgun saus, “coming on TV to ‘quell the media’, and insisting that everyone “concentrates on finding Maddy instead”.
Spudgun added this comment: “It’s pretty obvious that Gordon certainly hopes the abduction theory is greater believed amongst the electorate than any culpability on behalf of the McCanns”.
Yes, indeed.
Why did not our Home Secretary say: “It’s vital that we get to the truth about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann and I hope that the McCanns will feel able to answer all reasonable questions put to them by the PJ, whom I believe to be doing an excellent job in very difficult circumstances”.
Spudgun, with such few resources available to you, you have done a great job with the video. The massive resources of Team McCann may prevail for a time. But eventually, as the McCann’s gigantic smokescreen begins to clear, and is exposed for what it is, the truth – bit by bit - will be discerned.

Funny though, how all these seemingly “seperate” notes all seem interlinked.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:50 am
I just found some pics from cemetries in Portugal. Might give an idea to the McCanns where to turn some stones.

Friday the 13th is considered unlucky as it’s the day the King of France ordered that all the Knights Templars be arrested. It’s nothing satanic :-).

Matty, do you think its possible that these disappearances, on May 3rd are connected?
Before you all howl me down, this is no more unlikely than any other theory!
September 28th, 2007 at 10:46 am
10, just saying if that was me i would have sent the shares in kleenex through the roof
September 28th, 2007 at 10:46 am
Also of note in the Elizabeth Smart case, her sister, with whom she shared a bedroom, SAW the abductor who kidnapped Elizabeth and held a gun to her……but she could not identify him and NO TRACES OF DNA EVIDENCE were found.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:45 am
Morning all.
News as I read it;
- After the Moroccon wild goose chase instigated by Camp McCann, the police closing in on mysterious Spain trip on Aug 3rd (CCTV pictures show the teflon 2 seen in places they had “no reason to be”)
On a seperate note;
- Satelite images can track movement of the Griffin when he snatched Madeline on May 3rd (…..it could also track other movements….like Renault Scenics on Aug 3rd).
On a seperate note;
Kate is suddenly very “ill”.
On a seperate note;
Caplan QC successfully blocked General Pinochet’s extradition due to the mass murderer’s “ill health”.
On a seperate note;
Sir Richard Branston Pickle is an excellent self-promoter.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:45 am
18, No, the guy who was there was the guy with the finding machine, who was on Carte Blanche.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:45 am
Unfortunately, I don’t have time today, but over the weekend, I am going to try to do some research into this May 3rd thing.
It struck me the other day, then yesterday reading about this lad Jordan, and now today with Matty mentioning this other girl.
Very curious indeed.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:44 am
SSS- maybe an alternate Friday 13th. However Fri 13th has no hold on me as my son was born on that date weighing 6lbs 6 1/2 0zs. So far he hasn’t proved to be devil child

Oh, By the way Piet Byleveld has done some work for the FBI and for Scotland Yard successfully. That was in the papers today as he has been promoted to Director yesterday.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:43 am
11. apparently he has been to portugal, he went after the carte blanche programme was aired, he picked up that she was still there but couldnt pin point where, and then the PJ caught up with him and told him not to interfere with the investigation

You might be right, I am working at same time lol, and read the article about an hour and half ago very very quickly, but what struck me was the fact that this girl was living near her parents the whole time - very strange.
I wonder why no one noticed her whilst “noticing” her everywhere else?
September 28th, 2007 at 10:41 am
Rosemary ,she was kept for 9months 18 miles from home.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:40 am
8 Matty
I am not sure if you are aware, but May 3 seems to be a rather “creepy” date historically.
I read somewhere that another child went missing on May 3rd in 1998 (I think that was the year) and also, a little lad drowned this year on May 3rd rescuing his sister, now you mention this other girl……What is it about May 3rd??
September 28th, 2007 at 10:40 am
nearly 5 months, isn’t it?
September 28th, 2007 at 10:39 am
6, SSS,
Wasn’t her name Elizabeth Smart. As I recall she was led by her kidnapper (who’d worked for the family, so she knew him) up a mountain path behind the house, to a makeshift shelter where she was kept for a week….what on earth were the sniffer dogs up to?!
September 28th, 2007 at 10:37 am
7 ‘Lo Toni
Yep something like that! Apparently whilst this girl was living a few streets from her parents, there were “sightings” all over America. The tone of the article made it seem (to me) as if this was quite common in missing children cases.
Saying that, 10 people can read the same paragraph and read 10 completely different things into it!
September 28th, 2007 at 10:37 am
There is a guy in South Africa, supt Piet Byleveld, working for the South African police. He has an almost 100% track record in solving such cases as this one. Would somebody please give the PJ this tip. Whoever did this to Madeleine should fear when they hear the name Piet Byleveld.

So she has to do it in public to your satisfaction does she? Care to suggest meals to prepare and choose her clothes for her as well.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:36 am
If Gerry had “intestinal problems” when they went to spain then maybe that was the “leaky nappy pooh” that was found in the back of the car
also, I cant believe that Maddie is missing for nearly 4 months and they havent found her, but and I mean a big BUT, they are lmore interested in the parents 2 missing hours, oh of course I get it,,,, the focus has to be on kate and gerry, they should have hired a ford focus
when will it start to clear
September 28th, 2007 at 10:36 am
SSS-Just read the full story of Elizabeth Smart on Wilkapedia its fasinating, especially how the man was eventually caught. Also mentioned Alexis Patterson who went missing 3rd May 2002, she is unfortunately still missing like millions of other children.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:31 am
SSS a bit like cant see the trees for the wood ???
morning, one break down of tears in 3.5 months not bad going
