A source says a new ad campaign to find Madeleine will start in two weeks.
DAILY MAIL page 3: “Police use CCTV to map McCanns trips.”
As newspaper Correio de Manha reports, Spanish police have given their Portuguese counterparts CCTV footage “showing the Renault Scenic in places in Spain where there was ‘no reason’ for the couple to be.”
A TV series based on Madeleine McCann is being produced in Chile. Says Chilean newspaper El Mercurio: “The case is becoming a soap opera.”
DAILY MIRROR front page: “KATE IS SO FRAGILE. Fears for mum after latest blow.”

I agree with you entirely; I don’t much like the McCann’s childminding decisions, neither do I like them insisting that they did nothing wrong. As I said, I don’t necessarily like them as people, or as parents. But if this forum is meant to be a rational place for debate and logical argument, where we respect one another’s opinions, then comments that are PURELY hateful and ridiculous (i.e. Lilith’s ‘McCanns as organ selling fiends’ suggestion) serve no purpose other than to discredit the person making them.

I really wish that was true, Stevo. It would be great to put an end to all the speculation. I’m not really sure if they could be prosecuted though, if they did speak out, or if they have been advised not to (as arguidos) or if they simply feel it better to say things properly and officially in court if charged but not before. I don’t think legally they could speak out. IF the arguido status is removed, I bet they’ll speak out then!
Kate McCann is said to have told her sister-in-law about the suggestions put to her during her interrogation and there were rumblings of her (Kate) being prosecuted for talking about it.
Anyway the police must already have all the info. Both parents and the friends spoke to the police at the beginning. The “true” (original) statements of what happened on the day and the evening of 3rd May must already be with the Portuguese police and they’ve interrogated them since then.
You’re right though. All these leaks and speculation are a fiasco and don’t help anybody.

Read ALL my postings and you’ll see that I never condone vindictive comments about the McCann family. However, not all the comments in here are like that and we are entitled to be a little sarcastic or concerned that two professional doctors left 3 kids alone in a room in a strange country - presumably a room that was dark and without a window to look out of. Any child waking under those circumstances would be scared witless. Gerry McCann tells us in his USA interview that leaving the kids was like being in your back garden at home and “they were their own baby listening service”. Excuse me but I don’t think much of the McCann Baby Monitoring Service because frankly, it doesn’t work!!!

Sorry to drag up some old questions that have probably already been discussed to death on the forum, but I just don’t have the time to read all of the posts! Please bear with me, and if anyone can answer, I’d be very grateful.
Did GM REALLY say that he saw the abductor that Jane Tanner claims to have seen? Also, did he REALLY recall this information some weeks later? It was mentioned in a previous post, but I can’t scroll back now.
How stupid would someone have to be to do a thing like that? I just can’t believe he would do that and expect to be believed. Therefore…perhaps he didn’t make that claim…??? Any videos out there of him claiming this?
Another question: has GM really changed his story of what he did/saw when he checked on the children, 4 or 5 times? Is there a reliable source for this, or just the media? Any videos?
Does the door in the childrens’ bedroom in apartment 5A really open out? Did KM really say a gust of wind slammed the door behind her when she went to check on the children, and thus noticed that the window was open? Did she say this in an interview? Is it on video?
I can’t believe the print media at all, but video footage is a differnet matter altogether.

My father has alienated himself from the family or more accurately it’s become a mutual aliention because we can’t stand his ways.
You’re right about the money. They hate spending money but perversely they think they are always spending it. Whenever he bought my kids toys at Christmas etc. actually he never spent a penny - he gave them trade samples from a company he worked for.
What I will say about them is that to outsiders, NPD people are the most charming people you’ll meet. They make instant friends are are charismatic and professional. They suck you in then throw you out when they’ve no time for you.
Famous people with NPD = Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Idi Amin.

595. That’s awful. There are varying degrees of NPD. If your dad is severe then he’s trying to live vacariously through you - just like a pushy “stage mother”. But he also (and I cannot know this for certain and is only due to my work and own personal experiences with NPD individuals) resents you very much.
The most serious situations will get turned around to be about him. Although he probably talked a good yarn about how his actions were all based on his concern and love for you and how he really wanted you to get that position - really it was deep down all about him and had nothing to do with your welfare or him wanting goodness in your life. Just my educated guess on the situation and I’m nore than happy to be wrong. It’s terrible to have a narcissistic personality disordered parent or a npd partner.
They typically have very high iq’s and are very clever and mask their emptiness by mimicking the emotions of those around them. They have no authentic personalities of their own and love to claim they know famous or well respected people. They are immature stunted empty shells. The first few times I listened to Gerry I just couldn’t believe it. I thought for sure the media I was getting my info from had made a huge error and this full blown narcissistic guy was a lawyer friend of the couple but he couldn’t possibly be Madeleine’s father is all I could think.
I read a few cases on NPD criminals (a couple of doctors, a rabbi and minister) they also fit a specific profile (I think it’s very much related to NPD), in fact a few of the psychological tests conducted on the doctors concluded they suffered from a “God Complex”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_complex
Also, NPD’s are extremely unwilling to part with their money - even for their children’s sake. So I think we can see where Gerry liked to save his money. No nanny needed in Portugal. No sitter in the apartment. And not even leave the kids at the creche which is opened until 10 or 11 pm because this would mean that in their drunken stupors they’d have to go and physically pick the kids up. Gerry didn’t want to be bothered with these details. Maybe Kate didn’t either? Or she is under his charismatic narcissistic power?

Yes, I did suggest a once and for all statement of facts.
I don’t think it would break any laws because so much is in the public domain. You can’t be done for repeating what’s already out there and in print or in video.
So, all that would be needed is a timeline which the McCanns say is what happened on May 3. They wouldn’t need to write it themselves - all they would need is to have one shown to them and they say “yes, that’s correct”.

KRISSIE has listed under around 8 names. KARALYN, I believe, was the first one. ‘THERAPIST’, I believe, was another. I would have to go back through the Forums history, and I can’t be certain with the names but essentially it’s definitely one person. She always states that she is either a Journo or in “the Media”, that she has a powerful husband, a political lobbyist, and accuses anyone she takes a strong dislike to, (ie: ME!!!), of being a “bullying Misogynist”, who has a track record of abusing and insulting women on the Forum. Our exchanges are almost legendary! If you go to the Video site on Google Video, where the Video is listed, you will see about half a dozen posts, all made around the very same time, all similarly offensive and abusive. ALL BY THE SAME PERSON!!

You are all getting lost in the speculation, the drama and are jumping on the hate wagon with pure abandon - which is fine - but don’t mistake this gossip and rumour and interpretationn of what the media shows you for truth and fact. From what I see, I don’t like the McCanns. I think they could very well be cold and unemotional, selfish and maybe even opportunistic. But I do not think that this necessarily implies guilt. Not liking someone is one thing - condemning them as vile murderers covering up their toddler’s death through repulsive acts like dismemberment is another.
