Madeleine McCann: People Smugglers, A Small Fridge And Child Alerts
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE - STOLEN BY PEOPLE SMUGGLERS.”
“Missing Madeleine McCann may be in the hands of North African people smugglers. Police in Morocco, investigating a reported sighting, believe they have identified a link with a ruthless gang of traffickers.”
Remember when Madeleine was in “the clutches” of Moroccans, and how the gang turned out to be a couple of farmers and their daughter?
Now: “The breakthrough came a few weeks after Madeleine went missing when a Spanish tourist reported seeing a blonde girl matching her description being dragged along by a scruffy, Arab-looking woman in the town of Zaio.”
Spanish tourist Isabel Gonzalez has told the world how she saw a blonde toddler in Morocco. Not Bouchra Benaissa. Another blonde Moroccan.
“The alarm was raised in May by 60-year-old Spanish tourist Isabel Gonzalez who said: ‘The girl I saw was blonde, with pale skin, whereas everyone else in the area is dark-skinned and dark-haired.”
Well, not everyone. Remember Bouchra Benaissa..?
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE BODY KEPT IN FREEZER.”
THE SUN front page: “MADDIE COPS IN SICK SLUR.”
“COPS MOST SICKENING SLUR YET” – “MADDIE’S BODY KEPT IN FRIDGE.”
“Maddie parents mark 150 days”
“McCann’s gagged by cops” – “A friend of the McCanns said: ‘It is madness. We are being forced to inhabit a fantasy world in which we can increase public awareness of Madeleine’s disappearance and urge the public’s help through a poster campaign, but her own parents cannot help in this because of the legal status attached to them. It is so frustrating - Madeleine’s own mum and dad are not allowed to speak about her.’”
So they have anything to say that is not said through their spokesman, Gerry’s blog and friends, and to the police?
DAILY MIRROR front page: “MADELEINE SENSATION – NEW SUSPECT IN STAIRWELL.”
“A British tourist seen ‘hiding’ in a stairwell outside Madeleine McCann’s apartment on the night she disappeared was being investigated last night.
“The new suspect, stocky and wearing two-tone glasses, was spotted by an Ocean Club worker just 12 metres from the flat. The employee, who did not want to be named, exclusively told the Mirror: ‘I’ll never forget him.’”
DAILY MAIL: “McCanns gagged from answering claims they dumped Madeleine’s body in Spain.”
•Portuguese papers claim Kate McCann killed Madeleine while Gerry played tennis
•Couple ‘then hid the child’s body in a fridge and later disposed of it in Spain’
•McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell said the reports were ‘utterly ludicrous’
These are the “latest lurid allegations”.
“A family friend ridiculed the suggestion that Madeleine’s body could have been stored in a fridge, saying: ‘Have you seen the size of the fridges in those apartments? Of course they did not stuff her in a fridge.’”
THE TIMES: “Kate and Gerry McCann’s friends refute ‘missing hours’ claim as smears continue.”
“The parents of Madeleine McCann have pleaded for an end to the distressing smear campaign that has suggested that they may have killed their missing daughter…
“It was claimed yesterday that police in Portugal believe that Kate McCann killed Madeleine while putting her to bed at their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz between 7pm and 8.30pm on May 3 and then hid her corpse in a fridge, with the help of friends.
“The respected Diario de Noticias newspaper said that officers believed that Mrs McCann accidentally killed Madeleine while her husband was playing tennis.”
Stop the smears. But read all about them first.
THE GUARDIAN: “EU plan for missing child alerts.”
Oh?
“Portugal will next week call for the creation of an EU-wide alert system for missing children, five months after Madeleine McCann disappeared from a holiday resort in the south of the country. The move has been welcomed by the McCann family.”
So she was taken across boarders?
“In a statement released through Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ spokesman, Madeleine’s father, Gerry, said: ‘If this is true, we would very much welcome it as it would be a major step in the right direction. We feel it would be vital in protecting other children and their families. Kate and I have consistently campaigned to effect change throughout the EU to help protect children.’”
But Madeleine McCann might not have been stolen. Is this just another instance of people jumping on story to promote their pet cause?
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann’s parents may face jail.”
No, not for child neglect.
“Kate and Gerry McCann could face 12 months in prison if they speak out to defend themselves against a slur campaign in Portugal because of the country’s strict secrecy laws, it is claimed.”
Says Clarence Mitchell: “Each and every one of these nonsensical allegations causes real pain and hurt for both Gerry and Kate.
“We just hope that everyone can see these ridiculous rumours for what they are.”

I’ve tried to post this twice but it has not gone through. If it shows up a couple of times I am sorry. Mention Aleistar Crowley and things just start going bonkers.
I think “occult” in the astrologers chart reading could surely be used in the very broad sense of the term, not just the Aleister Crowley version of the occult.
Quoting Wikipedia “The word occult comes from the Latin occultus (clandestine, hidden, secret), referring to “knowledge of the hidden”.[1] In the medical sense it is used commonly to refer to a structure or process that is hidden, e.g. an “occult bleed.”
Freemasons could be viewed as one as could a “Swingers Club” or “Paedophile Ring.”
To qoute Dennis Miller - “But that’s just my opinion, I could be wrong.”

I am more than happy to drop the religious ‘debate’ before we start bringing father christmas into it as well as the tooth fairy (as highly suspect characters!)
I don’t think anyone who has ever had IVF treatment would mind me sticking up for them

Oh Patricia, oh Pattie, oh Pat
Oh Please, please stop that.
Your poetry is so bad
That it just drives me mad.
You can call me a liar
But your verse truly is dire.
If you’ve something to say
Why not make my day
And say it in prose
Who knows
It might even make sense.
ps no offence

hoody are you there?
September 29th, 2007 at 11:10 pm
stevo
If you were getting bullets fired at you from everywhere would you just sit and take it!!???
The Mccanns are guilty of leaving their kids alone, Yes but not killing her,
Her pregnancy was planned and paid for, not to just go and kill it once it was here!! IVF kids are specially wanted children ,
Have you got kids? Are they perfect! Are you a perfect being that doesn’t make mistakes?
How would you like to be accused of killing someone when there is no evidence etc
Who gives you the right to say they will go to hell?? Your not God!!

WHEN she is found? Dont you mean IF?
And you do realise that if (big if) she’s found alive this will not mean that the McCanns were not involved in the disappearance. That aspect may still have to be investigated. The majority of the posts here that state theories based on Madeleine being dead do so because that is what is being indicated by the portugese police.

379.Jolie… My answer is 359(!).
I was practically saying that I’m not familiar with a swinging lifestyle so that I don’t really understand how those people would reason. And why they would bring the children along in the first place if they are separeted from the parents both day and night - allowing other activities also daytime, see?
Also the Mark Warner Club according to rumours has certain reputation or tolerance about this.

Ladies, ladies
How about dropping the religious debate here? Otherwise, I might suggest it’s all BS and there is no God.

Jolie 270:
Great post - thanks.
I’ve sometimes caught myself thinking of the moral and emotional prison the McCanns have built for themselves, and to which they’re now condemned for life, and how it must on some level be growing more unbearable each day.
When people say: they’ll probably escape justice, I don’t think they (the people saying that) realize that formal justice is not the only kind.
I also imagine that, unless they’re almost inhuman, the McCanns must sometimes just wish it was all over - that the police will find a body, or a 100% DNA match with toxicology showing cause of death, and they can be freed from the prison of deception they have built, but which they can no longer leave of their own accord.
As things drag on more and more, and more and more people establish their own roles in the McCanns’ parallel univese (lawyers, PR men, rich patrons and all the other supporters), the prison walls must just get stronger and stronger, and the McCanns’ souls darker and darker - until they themselves become almost insubstantial actors in the crazy world they brought into existence on May3, leaving their humanity almost completely behind.
So sometimes I feel really, REALLY sorry for them as suffering humans, despite the fact that they were the first architects of their crazy new world.
But I never feel sorry for the slimy bastards in Fleet Street and beyond who, with no excuse of panic and shock, have clamly helped the McCanns build their surreal prison, and lured so many people, many of whom are just too well-meaning or good to believe or even imagine the awful truth, to gawp at them there, unable to see the invisible walls that hold the McCanns, all those gullible spectators blindly sleepwalking toward the shock of their lives.

As far as I’m concerned..Mcliars are toast!!

312. Lilith and 336. Stevo and many others are making valid remarks about the child neglect question here. With this background I’m wondering how a Prime Minister could afford to support these two suspects under investigation, without fearing his seat trembling? A powerful person may actually compromise justice. (maybe bad English…)
September 29th, 2007 at 11:02 pm
so now the Mccanns might go to jail for trying to speak out and defend themselves,!!!
what a load of bullshit, the media need to get a life for writing such bullshit!!
So its ok for the public to lie and abuse them but not fo rthem to defend the accusations!
What are people going to do when she is found! I would say go jump into a big hole and bury yourselves!

379. Well, Jolie, I don’t know…
I was absorbed by the “gryphonastrology” site for a while, sorry…
As not familiar with the term ’swing’ from previous experience, I’ve met the word a couple of times referring to the mcCanns’ and their friends.
My understanding is that the group - at least the mcCanns’ - left their children repeatedly alone both day (at the kids’ club) and night. So why indeed bring the kids along?
I repeat I don’t know and I don’t understand how it works but the rumours seemed pretty solid. To say why have a fling when you can have a whole swing (that can extend to a longer period of time with lots of people not to mention the heavier emotional burden) was a joke.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:54 pm
336 Stevo
You’ve inadvertantly answered the whole question here. You say their decision to leave the kids alone was ludicrous. Well not quite. That was irresponsible. Now leaving the kids alone out of sight and out of earshot. That was very irresponsible. Now leaving the kids alone out of sight, out of earshot AND WITH THE DOOR UNLOCKED. That is LUDICROUS.
Now we have much recent experience of the McClique McCann using the word ‘ludicrous’ to refute allegations. The use of the word is (as we know) a replacement for ‘impossibility’.
So therefore if ludicrous is impossible, as the McCanns would have us believe, then how did the impossible occur that night relating to their childcare arrangements?
There’s only one answer of course.
The impossible happened because it was made to happen……………

343 innocent….etc
It has been swept under the carpet but I’m sure I read that Social Services will not let their royal fragrances to be alone with the twins. They have insisted that grandaddyMcCannkins lives in at the house.
Of course Comical Clarrie has put some spin about “family bonding” (alternative social tennis?) on this blatent setback…
Ho hum. He may be in on it too, of course…
September 29th, 2007 at 10:42 pm
Ade : Sunday paper’s headlines : ” PARENTS MARK 150 DAYS AFTER MADELEINE’S DISAPPEARANCE - WE’RE INNOCENT! ” Yeah …. right!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:40 pm
So folks, what’s the story gonna be for tomorrow’s Sunday papers? Or will Diana push ‘em off the front page? I suppose the well-hyped 150 day angle could open up an opportunity for “take stock of the situation” stuff…
I don’t buy Sunday papers anyway
September 29th, 2007 at 10:38 pm
Sorry to intervene between unsorted household duties…
I think not enough attention is being payed to the mcCann childrens’ welfare. If Madeleine is alive, every day away from her parents is too much. Should she return home safely, psychological issues are to follow her for a long time.
What about the twins’ welfare? I think their situation should be followed up continously now by the social services. The parents must be under extreme pressure and they may be tired and worn out which may affect the twins in many ways - starting from the basic care and a positive interaction.
The twins are little now, but one day they are going to find out what this cloud upon their childhood was. They are going to find out every detail about this remarkable episode in their lives, every ugly rumour and of course the final outcome. They are going to make some conclusions, hopefully based on the facts. I hope the right measures are taken now to help them grow up stable young people without too many doubts and bitterness, when it’ll be all too late.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:38 pm
I’m off to watch casualty (casually) now.
back soon….

September 29th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
I have helped search for enough missing children to realise that the sums in Madeleine’s case don’t quite add up! Right from the word go, the calculator’s batteries were flat and the correct answers couldn’t be punched in with the equals sign!
Everything that this poor child’s parents are doing to proclaim their innocence is pointing directly back at them. I say they must now SHUT UP and let the rest of the world find out what happened to their daughter, we seem to have more interest in her than they do themselves!

I thought that it was very odd the way she kind of laughed before she got it together enough to mumble the ’she knows we love her’ line.
nervous laughter at having to coninue the lying by pretending she was still alive, perhaps?
