Remember when Madeleine was in “the clutches” of Moroccans, and how the gang turned out to be a couple of farmers and their daughter?
Now: “The breakthrough came a few weeks after Madeleine went missing when a Spanish tourist reported seeing a blonde girl matching her description being dragged along by a scruffy, Arab-looking woman in the town of Zaio.”
Spanish tourist Isabel Gonzalez has told the world how she saw a blonde toddler in Morocco. Not Bouchra Benaissa. Another blonde Moroccan.
“The alarm was raised in May by 60-year-old Spanish tourist Isabel Gonzalez who said: ‘The girl I saw was blonde, with pale skin, whereas everyone else in the area is dark-skinned and dark-haired.”
Well, not everyone. Remember Bouchra Benaissa..?

So they have anything to say that is not said through their spokesman, Gerry’s blog and friends, and to the police?

“A British tourist seen ‘hiding’ in a stairwell outside Madeleine McCann’s apartment on the night she disappeared was being investigated last night.
“The new suspect, stocky and wearing two-tone glasses, was spotted by an Ocean Club worker just 12 metres from the flat. The employee, who did not want to be named, exclusively told the Mirror: ‘I’ll never forget him.’”
DAILY MAIL: “McCanns gagged from answering claims they dumped Madeleine’s body in Spain.”

•Couple ‘then hid the child’s body in a fridge and later disposed of it in Spain’
•McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell said the reports were ‘utterly ludicrous’
These are the “latest lurid allegations”.
“A family friend ridiculed the suggestion that Madeleine’s body could have been stored in a fridge, saying: ‘Have you seen the size of the fridges in those apartments? Of course they did not stuff her in a fridge.’”
THE TIMES: “Kate and Gerry McCann’s friends refute ‘missing hours’ claim as smears continue.”
“The parents of Madeleine McCann have pleaded for an end to the distressing smear campaign that has suggested that they may have killed their missing daughter…
“It was claimed yesterday that police in Portugal believe that Kate McCann killed Madeleine while putting her to bed at their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz between 7pm and 8.30pm on May 3 and then hid her corpse in a fridge, with the help of friends.
“The respected Diario de Noticias newspaper said that officers believed that Mrs McCann accidentally killed Madeleine while her husband was playing tennis.”
Stop the smears. But read all about them first.
THE GUARDIAN: “EU plan for missing child alerts.”
Oh?
“Portugal will next week call for the creation of an EU-wide alert system for missing children, five months after Madeleine McCann disappeared from a holiday resort in the south of the country. The move has been welcomed by the McCann family.”
So she was taken across boarders?
“In a statement released through Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ spokesman, Madeleine’s father, Gerry, said: ‘If this is true, we would very much welcome it as it would be a major step in the right direction. We feel it would be vital in protecting other children and their families. Kate and I have consistently campaigned to effect change throughout the EU to help protect children.’”
But Madeleine McCann might not have been stolen. Is this just another instance of people jumping on story to promote their pet cause?
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann’s parents may face jail.”
No, not for child neglect.
“Kate and Gerry McCann could face 12 months in prison if they speak out to defend themselves against a slur campaign in Portugal because of the country’s strict secrecy laws, it is claimed.”
Says Clarence Mitchell: “Each and every one of these nonsensical allegations causes real pain and hurt for both Gerry and Kate.
“We just hope that everyone can see these ridiculous rumours for what they are.”

A while ago I received a chain email which said: “As you are away my neice is missing and I am asking everyone I know to send this as a chain letter…We don’t believe that she is in Portugal anymore…Madeleine’s aunt, Philomena McCann, has devised an email poster as she fears than Madeleine may have been taken to Spain where the girl’s disappearance has generated less attention.”
Is it just me or does anyone else think this is one Huelva coindicence?

I know m.e. I foud it very disturbing. I’ve always felt the McC’s were involved but as an accident/cover up. The astrological site is suggestng the McC’s are capable of a scenario much more sinister.
The psychics on the other hand I’m finding - half claim she is alive and well and will be returned. Other half see her body in a shallow grave.

My apologies for not connecting the dots to which rumor you were referring to. I don’t believe the rumors about the swinging, either, which I wrote on a recent post. Anyway, my 383 post does confirm there doesn’t seem to be any factual basis available in the media–only hearsay from the retired detective.
As for the possibility of a Kate McCann and Mr. O’Brien affair, I’ve only read suggestions of it on forums and have seen nothing in the media to suggest it.

Thanks for the link. I was amazed to see some ‘astrological’ views on this that I’ve instinctively felt for a long time.
I have long thought that not only are the McCanns involved in all of this but that if the real truth is ever uncovered here it could be more disturbing than anybody is prepared to contemplate.

Where did you hear these rumours? In the beginning I heard rumours the entire Tapas 9 were a group of swingers but this seemed to be a runour without any factual basis. I never read anything about Kate & O’Brian having an affair.
I realise the McCanns and friends are affluent sophisticated people. But I don’t believe narcissistic control-freak Gerry would be laissez faire about such a thing to remain friends with O’Brian and then to actually go on holiday with him?

Don’t you think there are plenty of parents in this world who have brought children into the world through natural conception who have not taken their responsiblities seriously and neglected and/or abused their children, some of which die as a result? Don’t you think to yourself, “These people should never have been parents!”
Parenting is difficult. Well, LIVING is difficult. There are no guarantees on what kind of parent a person will be before they actually become one.
It’s obvious you take your religious faith seriously, but you must realize not everyone sees the world the same way you do. Tolerance is a healthy thing. You wouldn’t want to find yourself at the receiving end of criticism for your beliefs, I’m sure. Believe what you will and live your life accordingly. Everyone has the freedom to decide what they believe to be the truth and do the same.

As I have said before, if Madeleine is found alive will all rejoice, bash the McC’s for leaving babies alone and go on to the next sensational story that grabs our attention.
I’m sure most others on this board would agree, we would love nothing more than for Madeleine to be alive and well and returned to her parents (regardless of how fit we may feel they are to raise children) Judging by the evidence leaked to the press by the PJ that is not looking like a likely scenario.

Radio 4 interview very interesting.
KM sounds as if she is smiling the whole time??(Just listen)
There are things that she says that are hard to believe.
‘We don’t read the papers’…… Clarence Mitchell has no job.. sack him.
‘We don’t follow all sightings’…. Why not?

KM laughed during this interview - 2 months after the abduction of her child? Is this normal behaviour? Human emotion is not dictated by your standing in society, nor your professional/educational background. Dcotors or not, these people are not showing the normal emotions of grieving parents. The interview seems to be that of a person who is bereaved? not one who has a child that has been abducted.
Conscious decisions were made regarding the wellbeing and safety of their 3 very young children. No amount ofencouraging ‘I have done this as well’, letters from other parents makes it ok.
K&G say they are responsible parents. Does this come from ‘my friends do it, so it is OKAY’? or are their child rearing practices borne out of experience, i.e. from their own parents? K&G have probably been exposed to some very good parenting practice, hailing from Liverpool and Glasgow. Years ago you could (arguably) leave your front door unlocked, it was felt to be safe. But recent history, and indeed legislation, has taught us that caring for our children has become a full-time surveillance and monitoring operation, where anything can happen at any time. K&G arfe modern parents and know the dangers.
I lost my 4 year old in a sea-side attraction for about ten minutes. The horror was unimaginable, even though it turned out a sit-on helicopter was more stimulating than a sting-ray….
Thus I can say with some assurance, that G&K are in a hole that they dug themselves. God bless Madeleine.

I’m reluctant to believe the swingers rumors for these four reasons:
1) Dianne Webster, mother of Fiona Payne , was accompanying them on the trip. Unless she was involved in the swinging, wouldn’t that be awkward to have her around?
2) Why bring the children on the vacation at all? Wouldn’t it would be much simpler to indulge themselves freely without the kids in the way?
3) Why spend all night at the Tapas bar instead of apartment with bedrooms if the whole purpose of the trip was to hook up with each other? (Unless, of course, that is what they were doing in the beginning of the day, when the kids were all dropped off at the resort’s child care facility.)
4) The McCanns have not come up with any wild and crazy excuses explaining why they could not be swingers and that the accusation is ludicrous. It must not have any credibility then, if they’re not willing to put a spin on it.
