Remember when Madeleine was in “the clutches” of Moroccans, and how the gang turned out to be a couple of farmers and their daughter?
Now: “The breakthrough came a few weeks after Madeleine went missing when a Spanish tourist reported seeing a blonde girl matching her description being dragged along by a scruffy, Arab-looking woman in the town of Zaio.”
Spanish tourist Isabel Gonzalez has told the world how she saw a blonde toddler in Morocco. Not Bouchra Benaissa. Another blonde Moroccan.
“The alarm was raised in May by 60-year-old Spanish tourist Isabel Gonzalez who said: ‘The girl I saw was blonde, with pale skin, whereas everyone else in the area is dark-skinned and dark-haired.”
Well, not everyone. Remember Bouchra Benaissa..?

So they have anything to say that is not said through their spokesman, Gerry’s blog and friends, and to the police?

“A British tourist seen ‘hiding’ in a stairwell outside Madeleine McCann’s apartment on the night she disappeared was being investigated last night.
“The new suspect, stocky and wearing two-tone glasses, was spotted by an Ocean Club worker just 12 metres from the flat. The employee, who did not want to be named, exclusively told the Mirror: ‘I’ll never forget him.’”
DAILY MAIL: “McCanns gagged from answering claims they dumped Madeleine’s body in Spain.”
•Portuguese papers claim Kate McCann killed Madeleine while Gerry played tennis
•Couple ‘then hid the child’s body in a fridge and later disposed of it in Spain’
•McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell said the reports were ‘utterly ludicrous’
These are the “latest lurid allegations”.
“A family friend ridiculed the suggestion that Madeleine’s body could have been stored in a fridge, saying: ‘Have you seen the size of the fridges in those apartments? Of course they did not stuff her in a fridge.’”
THE TIMES: “Kate and Gerry McCann’s friends refute ‘missing hours’ claim as smears continue.”
“The parents of Madeleine McCann have pleaded for an end to the distressing smear campaign that has suggested that they may have killed their missing daughter…
“It was claimed yesterday that police in Portugal believe that Kate McCann killed Madeleine while putting her to bed at their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz between 7pm and 8.30pm on May 3 and then hid her corpse in a fridge, with the help of friends.
“The respected Diario de Noticias newspaper said that officers believed that Mrs McCann accidentally killed Madeleine while her husband was playing tennis.”
Stop the smears. But read all about them first.
THE GUARDIAN: “EU plan for missing child alerts.”
Oh?
“Portugal will next week call for the creation of an EU-wide alert system for missing children, five months after Madeleine McCann disappeared from a holiday resort in the south of the country. The move has been welcomed by the McCann family.”
So she was taken across boarders?
“In a statement released through Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ spokesman, Madeleine’s father, Gerry, said: ‘If this is true, we would very much welcome it as it would be a major step in the right direction. We feel it would be vital in protecting other children and their families. Kate and I have consistently campaigned to effect change throughout the EU to help protect children.’”
But Madeleine McCann might not have been stolen. Is this just another instance of people jumping on story to promote their pet cause?
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann’s parents may face jail.”
No, not for child neglect.
“Kate and Gerry McCann could face 12 months in prison if they speak out to defend themselves against a slur campaign in Portugal because of the country’s strict secrecy laws, it is claimed.”
Says Clarence Mitchell: “Each and every one of these nonsensical allegations causes real pain and hurt for both Gerry and Kate.
“We just hope that everyone can see these ridiculous rumours for what they are.”

Sorry, wasn’t implying it does.. You know how stuff that’s an official secret here in the UK can be openly discussed on US soil because it’s held in some publicly available US database/information service? Plenty of journalists have done this in the past to highlight ludicrous (!!!) anomalies between secrecy laws here and in the US.
i.e. Could they discuss aspects of the alleged case against them more openly on US soil?

I think this about clinches it that the PJ or possibly just the Portuguese press are monitoring this forum closely.
It is hardly likely to be a coincidence that a lot of people were talking fridges and freezers yesterday and the press pops up with the topic.
Another thing happened yesterday I find ‘interesting’. I made some suggestions and references to being unhappy with some PJ members being accused of bad things relating to another missing child case in the same area.
Then, not long after, someone I do not recall ever posting here before, someone obviously Portuguese - not that that is unwelcome - came on to say the issue of these PJ being under investigation had been miss-reported by the UK press. That person then went on to provide a lengthy and detailed a version of the case in question that lead to these PJ falling under suspicion. This detailed account seemed to imply the charges against the PJ were baseless and would soon evaporate.
Moderation - if you happen to read this, are you in a position to verify or comment on the version of this story provided by the mystery person. Sorry I can’t link to it or reference the precise post because I can’t find the thread on Anorak at all. A lot of September seems to have vanished - the plot thickens! The post was in the last 1/5 of the thread I think and the posters ID was something like Arguid Lecteur or something like that. It was quite a long post.

Conspiracy theory - no proof etc.. It’s in a move designed ultimately to move Family McCann to the US where one supposes it would be somewhat more difficult to extradite them back to Portugal?
Another option may simply be that US freedom of speech laws might allow them to speak more openly without falling foul of Portuguese law?

Most people seem to buy into the ‘inept Portuguese police’ theory. I don’t. This isn’t because I have any particular affinity with Portugal. Whenever I’ve been there it has always seemed a rather dark country despite the sunlight. However, don’t underestimate the Portuguese. There may be method in their apparent madness whilst considering the police here, in England, there is much madness in their apparent method -just cast your mind back to the many travesties of justice there have been.
I feel, as many of you do, that Madeleine is, sadly, dead. I also feel that she will be found in Spain near Huelva in water in a dam, near the wall. If this is the case then I’ll post here why I thought this. If not, then I’ll keep quiet!

First off, is the site broken for anyone else? I’m not seeing post numbers and at the top of the page there’s some blurb about a table being missing.

If they have nothing to hide and are innocent, why did they not answer all those questions from the PJ that I have seen printed in places like the Daily Mail? On one hand you have Clarence M. saying that McCanns will cooperate fully with the PJ - but he omits to add - except for answer questions! Ludicruous.

No matter that the justice for Madeleine website is not perfect. It is, after all, a site about Madeleine.
Peter O post rings true. I, for one, would be ‘out’ by now, as human nature could not stop the swell of injustice, if that’s is what it is. If I were innocent of a heinous crime, suggested in a ludicrous way, then no force, constraint or law would prevent me from telling my side, in a way that would be within any grieving parents heart.

Excellent summary… the law is the law.
I believe that there will soon be a new offensive, as the PR team are letting a few potential scenarios slip. The bandwagon that G&K are on, looks set to roll again.
I still don’t get it. Why have they not returned to work? What is funding their day to day living expenses? The public at large will want answers sooner or later, as soon as all of the ’sightings’ are established as false.
I am sure, even the PJ have spent the last few weeks digging hard and prtobably bought in their own big guns to get a conclusion.
Here’s waiting for the next move that will thrust these people back into the spotlgiht.
