Madeleine McCann: The Nanny Suspect, Amaral Policing And Jail
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE MYSTERY. BRING IT ON.”
The Sunday Express is not the Express, which has form some weeks led with the front-page banner “MADELEINE”. The Sundays Express goes its own way.
“McCanns remain defiant as they face 40 questions from UK police this week”
“Kate and Gerry’s fury as new sighting in Morocco by businessman is ignored”
SUNDAY MIRROR front page: “MADDIE HUNT: THE TRUTH.”
The truth… At last…
“DISGRACE.”
A picture of Madeleine McCann (on the right). A picture of Portuguese copper Goncarlo Amaral (left).
“Police have ignored 250 sightings of her” – and have investigated how many?
“Cop leading police probe works four hours a day” – Amaral’s not overworked and fresh.
“He has three-hour boozy lunches with pals” – Amaral holds lengthy meetings to discuss and masticate over the case with team.
“Puffing on a cigarette and knocking back beers, the man leading the world’s biggest missing child inquiry enjoys yet another long, boozy lunch.”
Good to know that the Mirror is not wasting its time and watching him.
STAR ON SUNDAY: “THREATS TO McCANNS.”
“Friends say the couple are ‘extremely concerned’ by the nature of the threats and are considering hiring extra security.
Last night a spokeswoman for the McCanns, both 39, confirmed that they had been sent what she described as ‘negative letters and fear mail’.”
INDEPENDENT: “Maddie ‘kidnapped by maid’, says email.”
“The McCanns’ spokesman, Clarence Mitchell, said they were ‘encouraged’ by the development.”
SUNDAY TELEGRAPH: Kate McCann will risk jail to find Madeleine
Kate McCann has been told by her legal team that she faces jail sentence if she flouts Portuguese law to discuss details of the four-year-old’s disappearance in a high-profile television interview.
She tells a “close friend”: “I will do what I must. What does any of it matter if it helps find Madeleine?”
“It is what Kate thinks will help,” a close friend tells the paper. “What choice does she have? Unless Kate and Gerry ignore the law and speak out, their chances of finding Madeleine will dwindle further. Better to risk prison if it helps find her.
“Will the Portuguese police really prosecute a mother whose sole aim is to find her daughter or at least, God forbid, discover the whereabouts of her body? Kate, most of all, believes risking a jail sentence is nothing compared to finding Madeleine.”
Who needs an interview with Kate with friends like that?
THE OBSERVER: “This limbo that lasts a lifetime,” writes Carol Sarler.
“The McCanns are said to be devastated by dashed hopes; if so, they must get used to it, for there will be more sightings, more dashing and, to add to their misery, more harassment of more innocent families. I know this because, having investigated the disappearance of Ben Needham on Kos in 1991, the unfolding of the McCann case has felt like one long, wretched, groundhog summer.
“Ben, recapped in a nutshell: his grandparents, Eddie and Chris Needham, moved from Sheffield to Kos with their teenage son Stephen, daughter Kerry and her boyfriend and their son, Ben…
“…The singular difference between the Needhams and the McCanns is, crudely, class. Eddie has homemade tattoos on his knuckles, Chris was a grandmother at 38, Kerry and her boyfriend - a man known, as they say, to the police - lived in a council block. Perhaps this explains why, throughout their ordeal, nobody from the British consulate in Athens once got off their butt or went to Kos to help or support; surgeon Gerry McCann, by contrast, mobilised the world.”
“Arabic adverts aid Madeleine hunt”… “Despite the disappointment of last week’s misleading sighting of a blonde girl in the Moroccan town of Zaio, the McCanns believe that their daughter might be somewhere in the country.”
TIMES: No Madeleine news today.

a question for everyone on here.
i’m thinking of specialising in educational books as a main part of my site.
there seem to be a lot of studenty types in here.
i just wondered whether many of you have bought an educational book anytime in the last year or so?
i’ve no idea what the demand is.

Thanks for that Andy…i had an idea it was based on actual events….
…….thats right, the other co-incidence with this case was the location where the body washed up - Huelva!!
Excellent film by the way.

“I know. Some of the things we’ve heard from the McCanns beggars belief. Sometimes you have to go away and digest their comments for a few days until you realise how LUDICROUS they really are. I think because they are so preposterous, you miss what they say at first.
I mean….less than 24 hours after your daughter goes missing you go get a haircut and jog on the beach after you’ve been up till 4:30am looking for her?”
As I said earlier, these actions look suspicious to me because they seem to be diversions to get the press away from the apartment, maybe while friend/accomplace did something.

in fact, we’ve been discussing linking my book site and her book on here all week.
the trouble is, neither moderation or i are lawyers or politicians.
although our points of view are diametrically opposed, we both try to speak the truth as we would like to see it.
so, a spiteful post, but a little too late.
you’d think as a lawyer you’d have read the small print.

I dont think they do have much support, judging by people I know anyway (one of whom is a GP).
Just because the free (terrified of being sued) press say thats the case, doesnt mean it is - thats money talking.
But as I said earlier, I dont think they killed maddie, I do think she was abducted - I do think its their fault. They left her and the twins just so they copuld enjoy themselves. They failed in their duty of care and for that, they should be prosecuted to make a point to the rest of the bad parents who think they are good and that everyone leaves their kids like the Mccanns did.
I wonder how much time Gordon Brown spends with his kids.

Several possibilities for doing their own indpendent forensic tests on the car.
Doing your own forensics might be useful if you want to find out what the B FSS might have. Then you can prepare your defense
Or it might be that the car has been thoroughly cleaned curtesy of said wealthy friend holding it in Praia. In which case, the “independent” results could show that there never was any forensic evidence. Maybe even that what the police collected was a plant.
I really hope the PJ switched that car.

From andalucia.com (the spam bot won’t let me post the link!)
“In the Cementario de la Soledad is the body of William Martin, a supposed naval commander, known as ‘the man who never existed’. During the Second World War, the Allies wanted to distract German intelligence from their planned landing in Sicily, ready for the invasion of Italy, by pretending that a similar landing would be taking place elsewhere. The corpse of ‘William Martin’ was discovered by a fisherman on the beach of El Portil, near Huelva, and had documents on him hinting at a supposed Allied landing in Sardinia or Greece. The Allies’ hope that the German spies operating in Huelva at the time would believe the information and send it back to Germany was successful.”

You’ve gone a bit quiet since my post 256, haven’t you? - when I ‘outed’ you as a Team McCann member or associate - because you claimed to have inside knowledge of Leicestershire Social Services Department’s dealings with the McCanns?
Are you Bernadine Kennedy? Just a hunch.
Remember I post openly in my own name, making no attempt to hide my real identity, unlike the majority on this Forum.
Did you post this in your blog on Friday?

Happy Friday!
So its friday again, I’ve got the jist of the day, just having some problems with which friday.
I really don’t have much to blog about as I am still in self-imposed isolation while finishing SHATTERED LIVES. I maybe need a psychiatrist to explain why, when the end is in sight, I get the most fantastic idea and just have to change everything around?? Why don’t I get these ideas at the beginning? Oh well. Too late for me to change now!
The Camping Boys arived back a day early after a couple of mishaps!
Lesson one. Do not cut open a glow-stick with a leatherman tool. If you do you’ll have an explosion of bright yellow phosphorous all over your face and in your eyes and have to seek medical attention!
Lesson two. Beware the guy ropes that hold the shelter up. If you trip over them and the shelter disintegrates then there is no shelter under which to shelter!
But they enjoyed it and I spent the week doing nothing except write!
PAST CHANCES is out in paperback in three weeks… I’ll update with any info nearer to the date. The finished copy looks really good and its in the slightly larger paperback format. Fingers crossed for me everyone.
**********************************************************
Over the past few months, I’ve been hopping on an off an internet forum discussing the mystery surrounding the missing Madeleine McCann.
The original purpose of my visits was to harvest some research for my next novel but boy is it compulsive. When I ‘retire’ shortly I may need to head straight for my local addiction clinic! It’s been an interesting insight into how the new accessibility of the internet has empowered so many people to discuss so many issues.
It throws up class, race, religion and politics in a way that no-one would dare do in a face-to-face group.
A very interesting insight into human nature across the board.
Now I have to figure how to incorporate my new knowledge!
************************************************************
Finally, we have a new kitten. I didn’t intend to do it again, pets cause so much grief and we have the Chav-Cat but, by defualt because his new owner was allergic and I couldn’t say no, we now have Olly. Tje prettiest, naughtiest, noisiest kitten ever.
Chav-Cat still doesn’t know what’s hit him but he’s been far better behaved than I expected. The occasional clip round the ear to the young pretender seems to be about it. aaaaaahhhhhh.
Now I have to work!!
Till next time xxxxxxxx

PC is usually meaningless pretence and hides racist and other unpleasant behaviours. Personally I’m not PC. Sometimes I like a person and sometimes I dont, its a human thing that takes no account fo their culture or skin colour. But I dont pretend I like someone even if they are different colour to me (for example). I have met more ‘white people’ (my ‘colour’) than I have ‘non-whites’ and frankly, I have met more whites I dont like - which is simply evidence that it isnt skin colour, but how many people I have met that has made the difference.
Blimey - must be the wine Im sipping - didnt meant to get sidetracked. To bring it back to subject, I dont much like what I have seen of the Mccanns, though I feel a bit sorry for Gerry and also for is brother John, sometimes - and they are ‘white’. I dont like Gordon Brown and I dont like Milliband (I have an illogical urge to smack him in the face). I always knew Blair was going to kick Major out as he was very good a debating - knew just what to say. He let us down in the end, dumping Gordon on us. Damn, rambling again! Its the wine. As to tonights Sky program, its going to be more of the same old biased crap I suspect.
All I want of the Mccanns is for them to say ‘We regret leaving a sub-four year old to babysit our twins and fully accept criticism of good responsible parents who have said that. Of that we are without doubt guilty. However, she was abducted and now lets focus on the events and timigs of that night.’

The scary thing is the amount of support the Mccanns have..Maybe I’m missing something here, and if in fact they are innocent and Madeleine is found, We will all feel like evil fools..But There’s something Obviously very suspicious about the whole tragedy….But anyway, with the amount of support that they do have, and with their “TOP LAWYERS” I wonder if they’ll get away w/ this??? LOOK at OJ..He had sooo much power and a good lawyer…

Maybe the Royal Mint printed two fivers with the same serial number in error when the Yorkshire Ripper left one with a prostitute victim and it wasn’t really Sutcliffe?
Maybe Shipman was coincidentally treating the old ladies that died but in reality another doctor came after he left?
Maybe Huntley has a double and the one in Wakefield Jail is the innocent one?
Ultrasonic whistle indeed…..
