None of whom Leonor Cipriano was able to pick out from police line-ups. In the US, that fact would discredit her claim, or at least make it unprosecutable. However, the results of the line-up were not included in the file submitted on the case, and the five individuals of the PJ were made arguidos.
I noticed that you never responded to my post (954) which provided information and a link explaining how head trauma could cause black eyes. A fall down the stairs COULD be responsible for those black eyes. I think it is disingenuous imply that the only reason Leonor could end up looking like that is because the police beat her.

If Gordon Smith the “Psychic Barber” is so good, how come he hasn’t already put his “powers” to work to find Madeleine’s whereabouts until now ? If he were anything like worth his salt he would have taken on board the sheer globalness of this disappearance and already had a go at finding her since he claims not to want any “fee” for it. Also if he is so accurate, he could have put everyone out of their misery weeks and months ago.
Has he only just heard about it or something ? has he been living under a stone all these months ? There are no end of psychics/mystics/mediums who have already sent what they have “received” and have not asked for anything in return, other than the satisfaction of finding out what has happened to the child. Still….won’t do his image, or his pocket, any harm now he is splashed all over the media I suppose……

I have just seen Clarence Mitchell on tv saying ‘ we must get back to finding Madeleine’.
If, by ‘we’ he means the general public we have no hope of finding her. Much as we would love to be out shopping and see her and be able to reunite her with her family it just won’t happen that way. If she is kidnapped then she will not be ‘out and about’
What they should be saying is, Madeleine disappeared in Portugal. We (K & G) and her team, must get back to where the clues are, where the potential witnesses are.
I feel that even as the photo of the child on the farmers back was published, they knew it was not her. On the sky ’special’ there was no mention they were even on holiday with friends, just that they dined with them. There was no mention that Murat had been released from his Arguido status either.
It just makes you wonder what they are doing and why they are doing it. They cannot really think that the best chance of finding Madeleine is for us to all look out for her.
I feel this could be solved by good dective work and I am sure there are excellent detectives working on it, but if they want any help from the public they have got to stop the spin and tell the public what would really help. They must have their suspicions by now -surely?

FACTS (as confirmed by independent witnesses)
1. The McCanns refused offered babysitting services from MW (witness - MW management)
1a There had been complaints about the children crying on previous evenings (MW Staff and Management)
2. The children were left alone while the parents went out to dinner.
3. Gerry was outside the apartment just after 9pm (Jeremy Wilkins)
4. Russell O’Brien was absent for most of the evening (Tapas Bar Staff)
5. Russell O’Brien was still absent from 9.30 - 10 (Quiz Organiser)
6. No-one else left the table from 9.30 - 10 (Quiz Organiser)
7. “They’ve taken her” (numerous witnesses with the sole exception of a fame hungry sacked Nanny)
8. Police were not called immediately (GNR call log)
9. Kate said the police were on their way some time BEFORE they were called (Mrs Fenn and GNR call log)
10. Kate was calm and on the phone when the police arrived (MW staff member)
11. Gerry asked for the priest to be called at around 2am (Mark Warner Management)
12. Gerry asked for directions to the church (despite it being right next to the beach and a restaurant where they had dined on the Wednesday) (Mark Warner Management)
13. Gerry and one of the Tapas 9 men were walking around the church at about 5-6am (various local witnesses)
14. The twins did not wake up, despite efforts to wake them, even as they were moved to another apartment (MW management)

17. Several of the earlier sightings of Madeleine (Morocco and Belguim) were made by witnesses who have strange connections to the McCanns (verifiable by simple research)
18. The fridge/freezer in the apartments are large uprights, similar to what most of us have at home (photographs of apartment interiors on booking sites)
I have probably forgotten several other witnesses and facts, and I have deliberately left out any references to evidence, either in relation to an abduction or a cover up of an accidental death (I am at a loss as to why people keep banging on about murder, which implies a pre-meditated death and is a whole different ball game). I have also ommitted the ever changing stories from the Tapas 9, anything which smacks of media spin (ie is unverifiable) and interpretations of behaviour/body language.
To my mind, if Madeleine died accidentally, then I would expect to see a measure of grief from the parents, especially in the early days, so grief (or the lack of it) is indicative of nothing very much IMHO

A while ago it was mentioned that the british populace who don’t believe in the Mccanns version of events and feel that there is culpability should march on parliament and demand to know why the government appears to be blocking conviction on this couple.
I feel that if you the people, do not make a massive stand for your rights now, when you need them tomorrow you will find them well and truly gone.
Really, this whole tragic case is symptomatic of a much greater malaise.
Animal Farm comes to mind. In this case it is not the cows who get the treatment but the elite.

The whole story and debate seems to be running out of steam. Yesterday it descended into the realms of the absurd when it moved from “psychos” to “psychics”. I predict that we will never know the truth and that justice will not be done, never mind be seen to be done - the McCanns are clearly connected with too many people in high places. They are repsonsible for whatever has happened to their daughter. They clearly did not care for her (or her siblings) properly and, for that alone, they they SHOULD (but probably won’t) be charged with neglect (and serve time in Portugal) and/or be struck off as doctors (who, in their right mind, would trust them again?). They are quite likely lying about the sedatives (there was a story just yesterday of care homes putting sedatives in the food of the elderly to make the job of the staff easier); this could explain either an accidental death or the ease with which an abductor could remove a child without it crying). I am shocked and saddened by the number of people in positions to influence public opinion who have fallen over themselves to defend the McCanns’ parenting skills, as if routinely leaving toddlers alone was normal and acceptable - perhaps it is so among the “yuppy” class for whom money, career, position and socialising with the right crowd (Tapas 9) are seemingly more important than family; after all, it was not the council-house class who made divorce, abortion and recreational drug-taking acceptable in the eyes of the law - so is child neglect the next taboo to fall, because it suits the wealthy? The story has unearthed not only elitism and snobbery (brass all stick together), but also racism, with every baddy in the scenario a dago cop, an African “gypsy” or any swarthy skinned man in the background of a McCann holiday snap. Although I am no psychic (I don’t believe in that BS), my prediction is an unsatisfactory outcome for those seeking justice and, much more importantly, for those seeking Madeline. I hope I am wrong. I really meant that.

Thank God for you. A voice of reason. I agree with you about Kate’s general demeanor in interviews etc. She looks shell-shocked and frail. I’m pretty certain the way she is coping privately is very different to her reaction under the scrutiny of the media. I get some comfort from the thought that she won’t give a flying monkey’s what the fantasists think and all the horrific slurs aimed at her and her husband. She has to try and keep it together for 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, for the sake of the twins. Peoples’ opinion in an Anorak forum will have no effect on her whatsover and rightly so.
Like you said, people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. The perfect parent brigade in these forums need a serious reality check.
I don’t believe the McCanns’ are guilty of murdering their child. We would be dealing with a pair of psychopaths if that were the case. But please God there will be some closure soon. Madeleine has been missing too long and it’s as heartbreaking now as the day she disappeared.
