Madeleine McCann: ‘Bad Dad’ Gerry McCann, The Psychic Barber And Drugs
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “Madeleine was drugged but it was by kidnapper says her grandmother.”
Page 9: “Madeleine’s family: She was drugged…but not by parents.”
Eileen McCann, Gerry’s mother – says: “I really believe they [whoever took her] gave her a drug. There is no way they carried her out of there without her waking. If she was taken when she was sleeping by somebody she did not know, she would have screamed the place down.”
Alternatively, she was taken by someone she did know? Or Mrs McCann is just speculating.
“’BAD DAD’ GERRY” – Carlos Anjos, head of the Portuguese Police Federation, says Gerry, “a heart consultant”, is a “negligent father”. This is his “astonishing rant”.
THE SUN front page: “Mystics hunt for Maddie.”
Around 150 leads provided by mystics have been followed up.
Page 6: “ASK PSYCHIC BARBER TO HELP FIND MADDIE” – Clairvoyant Gordon Smith has been contacted by the family. Smith hosts TV’s Most Haunted show. He says he can tell if Madeleine is alive or dead. Mick is nicknamed “THE PSYCHIC BARBER”.
DAILY MIRROR front page: “McCANNS: SHE WAS DRUGGED.”
Page 5: “‘Madeleine must have been drugged..she would have screamed place down’” – GRANDMOTHER EILEEN McCANN YESTERDAY.”
“Couple call on psychic to help” – Ex-hairdresser Smith is a “wacky medium”.
Says he: “In order for it to work I need to sit with the closest relatives who would be the parents. Then I’d tune in and see what I can pick up. But I would always warn them that there’s a possibility nothing might happen.”
Best to warn them of that first…
DAILY MAIL page 5: “Now police leader mocks ‘negligent’ Gerry McCann over his fears that an abductor was in Maddie’s room.”
“Call for the ‘psychic barber’” – “Despite both being strict Roman Catholics, the couple have already made contact” with Gordon Smith.
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE I’LL FIND BODY IN DAYS. Parents call in psychic.”
Page 7: “MADDIE’S PARENTS CALL FOR PSYCHIC BARBER” – “I have offered my help for free,” says Smith. “I never charge for private readings. I have already assured them I will say nothing to the press.” Indeed, not. Best save it for the book.
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 15: “Police chief accuses McCanns of hindering inquiry” – Carlos Anjos accuses McCanns of using “diversion tactics”.
THE TIMES page 27: “McCanns ‘considering psychic help’”
THE GUARDIAN no Maddie new today.

Oh no! So now they SAVED another child by giving up Madeleine?
Your words not mine!
What I think I’m trying to say Ian with due respect is that the McCanns obviously didn’t feel there was any danger……..well certainly non of child theft!
Anyway, what I’m trying to get across is that the whole thing was carefully planned. And with people hell bent on their intent, someones going to get caught out.

728. Batman,
Did you see the McCann photo op when Kate was given a letter from a mother of another missing child’s mother from Gran Canaria? It was the only time imho it really looked like Kate was going to cry.
IF they really wanted to find Madeleine they would generously be using their massive resources and connections for other missing children from UK, Portugal, Spain and North Africa (yeah I know they want you to think it’s only blonde blue-eyed children who get snatched but that simply is not true.)
Especially since the McCanns claim Madeleine was snatched by professional paedo/adoption ring. IF that is true then other children have been snatched by this nefarious gang as well. They will find more clues and pertinent information to Madeleine’s whereabouts more quickly by widening their net to other missing child cases than their current strategy which has only been a waste of time and money. And why wouldn’t they want to search for other missing kids? If they really are themselves the parents of a missing child? I think they are extremely sick people and the UK authorities really need to do some psychiatric testing immediately. Although with Gerry’s narcissism it is doubtful he won’t pass with flying colours anyway. Narcissists have fooled even the most reknowned psychiatrists and psychologists they are that good at what they do.

I think you’re the only bloke in this forum that I’d entrust to look after my kids. I’m shocked by the number of parents who think it’s ok to leave toddlers alone. Perhaps it explains the huge amount of teenage delinquents in the UK who have obviously had some dysfunctional upbringing.

Just in case you idiots don’t get it yet..Let me sum it up:
Mccanns Will not be charged..THere is no evidence..They have way too much power on their hands…Their names will be cleard by end of November.
Just watch and see. Maybe you guys should do something a “Little” more productive in your Lives.

There was a case in the US about a man murdering his pregnant wife (she was 8 or 9 months pregnant) and trying to pass it off as an attack by thieves while they were driving through an ‘undesirable’ neighborhood. He was a ‘witness’ to the shooting. The crime caused racial trouble because the husband reported it was a black man who had committed the murder and the police pressed very hard (and perhaps went too far) to find a suspect. The husband’s brother finally told police the truth several months later, and the husband committed suicide before he could be arrested.
One of the things that made people suspicious about the husband was his total lack of emotion and doing everyday events so soon after the murder–getting manicures and buying expensive presents for himself.
The murderer is Charles Stuart and his wife’s name was Carol Stuart.
A 1990 US TV movie was made about it called “Goodnight Sweet Wife: A Murder in Boston”

705. Amaral is swarthy skinned; drinks delicious wine; probably has a mistress and likes to make love in the afternoon; he says how he feels without shame or fear; he eats sumptuous nourishing food; he was raised by parents who loved him and brought him and his adorable siblings with them when they went out socialising.
Of course the British hate him.

Anyway, I am clocking off.
I expect that the circus will be leaving town shortly so make the most of it while it is here.
Plod demoted and taken off the case. Not really playing a great long game was he. Oh, I forgot, he was about to prove a case against the McCanns, so international rescue had to step in and silient him
Still, hope he does not go home and take it out on the Mrs, after all, she is not a suspect

696 - Anonymous. So right. I asked yesterday if anyone on here could name, from the top of their head, even one British child who has gone missing since 3rd May. I certainly couldn’t.
All this top-level intervention, financial support, moral support directed at just one little girl. If I were a parent of another missing child in the UK at the moment I would be asking why my child was not considered as valuable as the child of parents who left her alone, to her fate.
October 2nd, 2007 at 7:31 pm
Amaral may have been demoted to Inspector and taken off the case but does anyone know really why? I’ve read that it was his remarks about the McCanns impeding the investigation and the UK plod playing into the Mc’s hands.
But was it simpler than that…
His being investigated in that other case seems more logical to me.
No doubt the McCanns will be rubbing their hands yet again at this news.

Ok my last post for now.
All the talk of leaks and media sources is hype. Anything said that has not been made official by the police cannot be believed as factual evidence of anything. People must keep an open mind with respect to such information, as most of it can be taken with a pinch of salt.
it makes great fuel for a game of speculation though.

Whew ! so hard to try to keep up ! havew skipped to try to join in a bit…..re the blood……? on steps……or inside…..it is not just the *presence* of blood but the particular ’spatter pattern’, I gather, which has led to the PJ being certain of death and to the presumtion of a neck injury, I think. However, regarding specifics we probably need to allow for PJ tactics of suggestions which may be fruitful for furthering the investigations
Col said: “Who knows what’s true any more?” Heh heh ! Who ever has done ? Well ??? One thing about this truism hit me the other day……..and someone actually said, there are several versions of just about every scenario….every aspect of the evidence. Talk about redundancy……..there’s enough to plot one of those interactive stories with multiple possible endings……..Can’t possibly all be true just as the multiple ‘clues’ will never in fact all fit into the final completed puzzle. Some of the alternative versions offered are so wild and numerous….that it does make me wonder if they can be accounted for as mere mistakes in the agreed story……….certainly they do not have the appearance of natural discrepancies due to multiple witnesses only. So the alternative here would be - intentional ‘wild goose’ false trails……..which if so, surely implies a much longer time span for concocting these…….Motive ? Presumably to create as much confusion and time delay as possible…..hopefully ending in stalemate and dropping of case.
Some ‘clues’ though must surely be either ‘falsely planted’ or they are VERY, VERY key ………So how do we work out just how to discrimate ? That might be an area to concentrate our attention. One of these which springs to mind is the presence of the police forensics text book…….either huge clue or “ludicrously” comedic plant ? Are there others with similar clear cut implications ? I suspect so, but would need to think further on this. I’m looking for where attention should be concentrated. Maybe weeding out from all the discrepancies, those which are hardest to explain. Like not phoning the police straight away and refusing the neighbour’s offer to do it………..and like the aggressive insistance on abduction as the only POSSIBLE explanation both initially and then subsequently after the management refuted their story of window jemmied from outside……..oh it just goes on and on…there is so much………
*If* Granny’s ‘drugged’ statement is calculated - [and there is VERY good reason to think so as it is actually a resurrected or conveniently repeated statement] - that, like so many of their alternative explanations, merely stacks up the circumstantial evidence against an innocent plea………
But Julie’s voiced suspicions yesterday that ‘I fear their connections go deeper than what is publically known’ is another huge key. Someone speculated about possible medical / policy involvement……..I have all along suspected that the swift pre-emtive action by GB and the involvement of Clarence, the intervention to prevent charging / arrest on the Thursday before the McCs returned here……..perhaps today’s news of the withdrawal of the Portugueses chief detective ? Amarel from the case………gotta be something bigger than opportunistic electioneering……..way back in May !!! Think about it

Now I have heard it all!
Your making suppositions and assumptions and inventing things to fit your argument. Sticking to Maddie, the Mccanns behaved in a way that I really do hope others do not. If others do, however, there is a great risk here that by not sending a very clear ‘your behaviour is not right’ message, other parents will continue to expose their kids to unneccessary risk.
I do not consider it to be anyone except my own responsibility to look after my children - I know its a cruel and dangerous world, thats life. I have and will therefore do my best to protect my children. When children are 4, they are NOT old enough to be left alone, in a country foreign to me and them whilst I go out the door and walk for 50 metres to a location where I cannot see them or the door to the building they are in. They need to be punished to set the right precedent. IMO.

I’m with you 100% on the child neglect.
Check out the video of Kate and Gerry on their trip to Morocco. They are asked if they think Madeleine is still alive and you can tell that both are lying. Kate subconsciously starts to shake her head then realises.
Claiming a Portuguese Holiday Complex is like being in your back garden at home…yeah…well I’m sure Ian Huntley just though bathtime got a bit rough.
