Madeleine McCann: ‘Bad Dad’ Gerry McCann, The Psychic Barber And Drugs
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “Madeleine was drugged but it was by kidnapper says her grandmother.”
Page 9: “Madeleine’s family: She was drugged…but not by parents.”
Eileen McCann, Gerry’s mother – says: “I really believe they [whoever took her] gave her a drug. There is no way they carried her out of there without her waking. If she was taken when she was sleeping by somebody she did not know, she would have screamed the place down.”
Alternatively, she was taken by someone she did know? Or Mrs McCann is just speculating.
“’BAD DAD’ GERRY” – Carlos Anjos, head of the Portuguese Police Federation, says Gerry, “a heart consultant”, is a “negligent father”. This is his “astonishing rant”.
THE SUN front page: “Mystics hunt for Maddie.”
Around 150 leads provided by mystics have been followed up.
Page 6: “ASK PSYCHIC BARBER TO HELP FIND MADDIE” – Clairvoyant Gordon Smith has been contacted by the family. Smith hosts TV’s Most Haunted show. He says he can tell if Madeleine is alive or dead. Mick is nicknamed “THE PSYCHIC BARBER”.
DAILY MIRROR front page: “McCANNS: SHE WAS DRUGGED.”
Page 5: “‘Madeleine must have been drugged..she would have screamed place down’” – GRANDMOTHER EILEEN McCANN YESTERDAY.”
“Couple call on psychic to help” – Ex-hairdresser Smith is a “wacky medium”.
Says he: “In order for it to work I need to sit with the closest relatives who would be the parents. Then I’d tune in and see what I can pick up. But I would always warn them that there’s a possibility nothing might happen.”
Best to warn them of that first…
DAILY MAIL page 5: “Now police leader mocks ‘negligent’ Gerry McCann over his fears that an abductor was in Maddie’s room.”
“Call for the ‘psychic barber’” – “Despite both being strict Roman Catholics, the couple have already made contact” with Gordon Smith.
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE I’LL FIND BODY IN DAYS. Parents call in psychic.”
Page 7: “MADDIE’S PARENTS CALL FOR PSYCHIC BARBER” – “I have offered my help for free,” says Smith. “I never charge for private readings. I have already assured them I will say nothing to the press.” Indeed, not. Best save it for the book.
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 15: “Police chief accuses McCanns of hindering inquiry” – Carlos Anjos accuses McCanns of using “diversion tactics”.
THE TIMES page 27: “McCanns ‘considering psychic help’”
THE GUARDIAN no Maddie new today.

Yeah, I mean, it might make me look a little dim, but certainly not a fraud. I have just assumed that these huge news organizations all have foreign offices/bureaus and those offices/bureaus may have their own websites. What’s really funny here is that you attacked me after I was telling you about a NEW case of a mom killing her kids after years of spousal abuse, which I had assumed you would JUMP on madly , pointing to it as proof that moms who are being mentally/emotionally abused are easily capable of killing their children. I was HELPING your argument here and you jumped down my throat and called me a fraud. Mighty defensive, methinks!

Does anyone find the Grandmother’s statement about Maddie being drugged odd? Does she know for sure that Maddie was drugged? Was there an “If” somewhere I missed?

940 - Sure you weren’t in the sports section? Over here, those “Gerry & Kate” costumes are called tracksuits.

i think a letter to the bbc, sky news would be better.(and free)
if we put a template on all the forums and enough people send it, they have to mention it.

949. Pathetic. Who would buy them - what twisted mind would let their child wear them?
I guess they stopped short of designing “Maddie” costumes?

You often use the nannys account as solid evidence to oust anyone’s thoughts Madeleine died a lot earlier
people lie for their moment of fame
her photos
and her other statement of seeing a fisherman kicking a bin bag into the sea
make me question her reliability seeing as we never heard of her till a week ago.
People lie

928 - Candace Carnie. Firstly I agree about this site. Get out now while you still can……or you will keep sneaking in for longer and longer periods of time.
Secondly. I watched the coverage of Kate McCann going in for questioning on Sky News. On day 1 she was in for a long time, but was still only a witness when she was allowed go home in the early hours. However, even then the rumour-mill said that she would be made an arguido (suspect) the following day when she returned for more questioning. And that is what happened.
Now, while you still have time - run and have a real life!!!

I took a look at the photo of Leonor Cipriano and her two symetrically blackened eyes. I want to point out that head injury, such as a skull fracture can cause black eyes. This is a medical fact. It didn’t have to be a beating that caused it. Truthfully, she could have fallen (accidentally or on purpose) down a flight of stairs and that could have been the result.
From a page on the possible causes of black eyes:
http://www.emedicinehealth.com/black_eye/page2_em.htm
QUOTE
A certain type of head injury, called a basilar skull fracture, causes both eyes to swell and blacken. This condition is typically described as “raccoon’s eyes.”
UNQUOTE
I’d put more links to give information, but anyone can google ’cause of black eyes’ or ‘black eyes’ and find out more for themselves.
I’m not saying police brutality is not possible (by any police force in the world), but this woman was unable to pick out Mr. Amaral or any of the other four officers who she accused of beating her out of an official lineup. This fact was not included in the file when presented to the judge, which led to Mr. Amaral being designated as an aguido. Perhaps if the fact that the accuser couldn’t properly identify the person who supposedly interrogated her for hours and beat her were presented, the entire case would have been dismissed.

930 Thank you. Yes. BBC does have an American site, and that is what I have assumed CNN has in Britain. I have no knowledge of how these big TV news people work– honestly I don’t even have a television.
No shit. Because it’s British.
Why in the world would a website have a version of a country it’s based in?
Gimme a break. Back to my original point, before the red herrings got flung all over the room.
Krissie ain’t a Yank. And she ain’t from Houston Texas. And she’s pullin yer legs and wastin’ all yer time. And if yer OK with that, then God bless!!

Oh dear…
October 2nd, 2007 at 10:51 pm
944. But if you were for instance in a country other than England where the BBC is being discussed it would be perfectly normal to specify British, America, French version - why not? It doesn’t make Krissie a fraud at all. You are simply creating a strawman argument.

Father Brown, of WHICH faith? I’m having trouble keeping up here, due to the fact that I’m trying to get some work done. Silly me.

Dee Dee- I told you several messages back that the organ transplant thing was a joke that an astonishing number of people fell for. I was trying to illustrate how easy it is to get other people on your bandwagon with blatantly absurd and false information.

Yes but what is that muffled protesting sound I hear coming from over there, and why is that big man holding a large sack that womans head?

Just for the demographics, Krissie my child - you are of the Faith?

Due North,
Funny that it’s only the “women” who annoy you on Anorak. Are you sure you aren’t fond of “fag hags”? Sounds like you’d have your own little loyal group by now. Or did mommy and daddy leave you alone again and forget to lock the internet from your innocent eyes?

901. Wondering: Isn’t there a US version of BBCTV? In fact there is. The BBC call it BBC AMERICA. http://www.bbcamerica.com/tvschedule.jsp
yes, dummy, because BBC IS British Broadcasting Company.
But CNN is Cable News Network. An AMERICAN Company.
To be clear, do you say the BBC British version? NO. You say plain and simple, BBC - why?? It is British. READ my lips
CNN is an American Company. They don’t call it “the USA verison of CNN or CNN.com” Because why?? It IS Already AMERICAN.
I said there’s a British version or a Spanish version of CNN. There is not a USA or an American Version of CNN. Why??? You get the picture now, huh sweetie??
You read and type faster than you think and absorb. Read to my post to Krissie again. Then fermez la bouche.. s’il vous plait.

A FORMAL OPPOSITION TEAM TO TEAM MCCANN?

“…Does anybody know if it would be possible to set up a fund…to guarantee the mccanns get prosecuted to the full extent of the law ie: get them charged with minimum of child neglect and manslaughter as it seems less and less likely to me that there is ever going to be any kind of prosecution and the more crap the mccann clann come out with the more i believe these vile creatures are guilty and are going to get away with it. if it is possible to do this i would be the first to contribute”.

REPLY: mother goose, I have actively floated this idea about two weeks ago on this Forum and am already in touch with several people who share broadly similar ideas.
I posted a list of 10 common aims we all seemed to have, but don’t know if I can find it - it was posted a week or more ago here on another thread. I will try to re-post them.
Any group of people can form a membership club or society or organisation and start raising funds to achieve their aims objects.
Another method would be to form a Trust for that purpose - usually more appropriate when a small group of people have an idea or project in mind and to run and control things themselves.
Something like the National Trust uses the name ‘Trust’ but is essentially a membership organisation.
I personally favour a membership organisation in this case, as that is likely to secure the greatest possible participation and involvement by others (including reelvant experts) in helping to expose the gigantic fraud that is IMO being perpetrated on us all by the McCanns.
A charity can only be set up if the aims of the group are ‘charitable’ as defined by law and this would not apply in these circumstances.
I would happily post my contact website address again on this Forum for you - but that would inevitably lead to further accusations from a couple of posters accusing me of trying to sell a book I published this year about a similar ’smokescreen’ case, and that is emphatically NOT my intention in debating, on this Forum, what might have happened to Madeleine McCann.
The same people also think I want to make money out of suing the McCanns etc. Definitely not, again.
mother goose, basically, I share your frustration - and that of thousands of others out there - that the McCanns have deceived so many people by, IMO, claiming an abduction to cover up an accident or worse to Madeleine which they know about…
…and of course they are vulnerable to a charge of child neglect, though I’d have to say that there could be jurisdictional problems about bringing a case in the U.K. rather than Portugal - and even then the courts might be reluctant to convict the McCanns of child neglect, based in just one week of drinking and leaving three children aged under 4 alone in their room in the evening. But, yes, worth a try.
As I said before on this Forum, just because the authorities, for whatever reason, fail to bring a case does not prevent any member of the public ‘laying information of a criminal offence before a Magistrate’ - a long-winded legal way of saying ‘bringing a private prosecution’.
It happened in the notorious Stephen Lawrence case, the black 17-year-old probably murdered by a group of 2 to 5 whites, where his surviving parents brought a private prosecution against five named individuals. Without a result, sad to say.
Issuing a summons against the McCanns would be a very straightforward issue, setting out the facts which suggest that a crime has been committed i.e. giving the court particulars of their neglect out in Praia da Luz. Whether you could prove a prima facia case against the McCanns at an initial preliminary hearing could be tricky, but IMO well worth a run. We would need to appoint a solicitor currently practising in criminal law to prosecute the case. I am not such, and I am not looking for work.
Only for truth and justice for Madeleine - which I believe is currently being denied her by her parents’ dogged refusal to answer any questions put to them by the PJ - and a multiplicity of diversionary tactics by the McCanns, their media advisers and lawyers.
But, yes, let us have a well-organised counter campaign to Team McCann, run by ordinary people, to counter the spin of Team McCann and their powerful hangers-on.
If you want me to post my contact details, I will.

I am sorry, I really thought CNN had a British BUREAU of some kind and perhaps had a different website for Brits than for Americans. That is what I meant. I don’t see how that makes me BRITISH. I’m 100 percent American although, hmm, my last name does come from a certain British TOWN, and I obviously have both British and Irish ancestors.
