I think Amaral was well taken off the investigation - he should not make any statements to the press. However, he has been in the force for 17 years and with a positive trackrecord.
Like the McCanns, Amaral and 5 other police officers have been accused of beating up the mother of Joana. That has not been proven - so like the McCanns they are innocent.
Although Amaral may not look good in the front pages of fashion magazines, he his for all we know a happily married chap, with three daughters - the youngest of which is 4 years old like Madeleine. The character assassination of the british tabloid press (so typical in so many other cases) has portrayed him as something that he very probably is not.
Finally, to Jacqueline de Croy from Belgium: I have been fortunate enough to reside in many European countries including Brussels in Belgium. To even dare to compare the trackrecord of portuguese police with Belgian police can only come from someone who is ignorant or profoundly ill. Belgian police has historically screwed up just about every paedo enquire to date.For one simple reason, polices between Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels region did not exchange information or cooperate. Dutroux being the prime example of the belgianism. The situation today is worst than ever. When you have lived in a foreign country and are obliged to deal with the police forces in both countries (i unfortunately have) you’d know the differences.

It just came to me like a bolt of lightening…..
Kate had IVF with donated eggs - perhaps they were donated by the late Dianna and the Royal family just found out? Couldn’t have this child complicating the family tree…so she has to be removed. Calling on their past relationships with the paparazzi they flood the place with media to try and divert attention from the truth.
Gordy realising that he and Mrs. Brown used the same IVF clinic and the same ‘egg’ donater, has to help muddy the waters because he loves his child and doesn’t want them to ‘dissapear’
May I suggest that the PJ go investigate the Tunnel D’Alma asap!!!!!

Unfortunately there isnt much to hope for in the way of people in high places…
The Danish news paper - Ekstra Bladet - ran a 6 pages story about Madeleine. In this article various “experts” have been questioned about the case and the way the McCanns have handled their situation with internet and media. One of them being the General Secretary of the world wide organisation “Save the Children” - called “Red Barnet” in DK. I quote:
“It’s just like people have been caught by some kind of mass psycosic. Its completely hysterical and absolutely out of proportions when thinking of the millions of children dying every day around the world.
Of course I find the case deeply tragic and one cannot avoid getting emotional just by looking at this lovely little girl. But most of what is going on in this case is simply “pop”. Pop is good - but not when life and dead is at stake”, the General Secretary states.
When asked about how this case will be solved she tiredly replies:
“I almost don’t care. I’m sorry ’cause we’re talking about a child here, and we do discuss it in the cantina in the “Red Barnet”-office. But this is completely out of proportions and way beyond all limits.”
How unprofessional is that? Madeleine in just one child….Isnt that what ’save the children’ is about each and every child. I think that this woman should be removed post haste from her position.

In fact, regarding this move by the lawyers to present evidence that will “clear” the McCanns, do these lawyers not know that the McCanns have not yet been charged and so there is nothing to clear their names of?
Presenting evidence to prove your innocence before being named as guilty seems strange. A little like Bart Simpsons cry of “I didn’t do it, nobody saw me do it.”

97 - Amanda. I am not suggesting a paedephile ring. I do not know what might be big enough to merit the kind of behaviour we are seeing from the McCann legal and PR team at the moment. But there is something motivating all these people to ensure that two negligent parents are not charged with an offence and therefore face charges.
I could fully understand why the McCanns would want to bring in all the legal might they could muster if they were charged. But to try to swing (oops) things so that they do not even face charges is deeply concerning. How would anyone feel if Ian Huntley had behaved like this? And before all the staunce pro-McCanns launch for my jugular - remember he too was innocent before being proven guilty.
Why are the McCanns being treated in such an unprecidented fashion. It is an interesting question and one I would love an answer to.

Maura 105 the mans statement was totally discredited,as CCTV footage at the time they were in the premises showed no such little girl or persons fitting the descriptions given by this so called witness,who through his wife is believed to have some blurred connection to the McCanns,once again very strange.You appear to think the PJ are not very good,perhaps they are a lot better than you give them credir for.Have you ever considered that Amaral was closing in on the truth,hence his timely removal,his comments were only what a lot of people think including British people.We dont live in a simple world,but if you think the Cipriano bitch was innocent,perhaps you do.

There are various reports that give differing slants - some do a good job making Amaral look as if Cipriano is doing a job on him, but others give details that don’t fit with that picture either IMO.
It is a mess, like this case.
