Madeleine McCann: Amaral Policing, Secrets Out And EastEnders
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE: PORTUGUESE POLICE CHIEF IS SACKED AFTER AMAZING OUTBURST.”
Page 9: “Madeleine detective kicked off case after blasting British police” – Chief inspector Goncalo Amaral says: “The British police have only been working on what the McCann couple want them to and what suits them.”
Says Amaral: “The Ocean Club is in Praia da Luz, not in London…It won’t be an email, and an anonymous one at that, which will distract our line of investigation.”
Mr Amaral is making reference to the email sent to the official website of the Prince of Wales last week claming a vengeful nanny had abducted Madeleine.
Pages 30 and 31: “HAIR-RAISING TRUTH ABOUT THE PSYCHIC BARBER – During the day Gordon Smith cuts hair, at night he claims he communes with the spirits. So does he really think he can help the McCanns find Madeleine?”
THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER confirms that former EastEnders actress Michelle Collins is a “BELIEVER”.
DAILY MAIL page 7: “Off the case. Madeleine police chief demoted after amazing rant against McCanns and British detectives”
Say Amaral: “They [the English] have been investigating tip-offs and information created and worked upon by the McCanns”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE: CHIEF COP SACKED.”
Page 10: “INSPECTOR CLUELESS GETS THE BOOT”
Page 11: “If Maddie IS dead she will tell me where he body is” – Says Gordon Smith
DAILY MIRROR front page: “Maddy copper is axed”
Page 7: “OFF THE CASE – Boozy cop is demoted after furious outburst against the McCanns”
THE SUN page 7: “MADDIE COP FIRED FOR McCANNS RANT – storm as bungler says family duped Brit police”
Comments Clarence Mitchell: “I can confirm that Kate and Gerry are aware of this development but we cannot comment”
THE GUARDIAN page 7: “Detective leading hunt for Madeleine sacked after blast at UK police” – Mr Amaral is 47. He has been demoted. He is 48 in the Sun. Such are the facts
Carols Pinto de Abreu, the McCanns’ Portuguese lawyer, says: “The McCanns cannot confess to something they did not do and cannot and should not lie to please the police”
THE INDEPENDENT page 8: “Detective leading Madeleine hunt dropped from case after outburst” – Amaral is being investigated over an alleged attack on the mother of a different missing girl. Read about that here
THE TIMES front page: “Detective in charge of McCann case sacked”
Page 9: “Madeleine detective sacked after outburst”
Alipio Ribeiro, Amaral’s boss, says: “The police should be discreet and keep quiet, but there is always someone who talks” – So much for those secrecy laws
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 15: “Madeleine inquiry chief sacked after attack on British police”
A “family friend” of the McCanns says: “What he [Mr Amaral] is saying is just plain wrong. Leicestershire Police are not doing anything on Kate and Gerry’s behalf. They are simply there for liaison. There is certainly no strategy to distract form the Portuguese investigation”
What investigation?

Another good thing about that case: Leonor Cirpiano would have washed all the house with petrol so there would not be any trace, but she forgot the freezer where she would have stocked Joana. How silly of her to forget that!

Ah ok, thanks June! Much obliged! Will do them separately!

Why is my post with links to the Times, Mail & the Telegraph regarding Amaral’s charges still “awaiting moderation”??
Do they review all links?

Manon I have just posted telling you why not, because the spam detector won’t let more than one link through the system. All you are doing is spamming yourself off the site

“You’re always gonna have problems lifting a body in one piece. Apparently the best thing to do is cut up a corpse into six pieces and pile it all together. And when you got your six pieces, you gotta get rid of them, because it’s no good leaving it in the deep freeze for your mum to discover, now is it? Then I hear the best thing to do is feed them to pigs. You got to starve the pigs for a few days, then the sight of a chopped-up body will look like curry to a pisshead. You gotta shave the heads of your victims, and pull the teeth out for the sake of the piggies’ digestion. You could do this afterwards, of course, but you don’t want to go sievin’ through pig shit, now do you? They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, ‘as greedy as a pig.”

I just made posting 474 then as I clicked send, I read your post which debunked Stig’s 3 Judge’s claim. I acknowledged his info but didn’t have time to check it out or call his bluff.
So I was right in the first place then…there is a judge + jury system in Portugal?
October 3rd, 2007 at 3:13 pm
460. If you have a look on case, you will realise that it is Leonor Cipriano’s lover was the “key witness” who has charged her. He is the one who said that Leonor Cirpiano would have confided to him she had sexual relationship with her brother and that they had murdered Joana… in the police headquarter! This “key witness” has now said to The Sun: “they have framed my wife. She didn’t do anything but they arrested her.”
About the blood in the freezer, Leonor Cirpiano said her daughter might have had a nose bleed. It is possible, but it is also possible that a liar has put her in the freezer. Still, it doesn’t explain that Portuguese pigs eat bones, nor that a child simply vanishes.

“Portuguese trials are decided on by three judges, not a jury.”
I didn’t know that. Thanks for the correct info.
October 3rd, 2007 at 3:11 pm
Why is it people keep posting the same old misconceptions over and over? Is it because they believe them or that they want others to believe them and hope that repetition will lead to belief?
In a Portuguese trial the defendent is allowed to pick a jury of 8 people. The judge in charge of the trial is allowed to disagree and override the finding of the jury however if he believes their finding does not reflect the evidence.
http://www.photius.com/countries/portugal/national_security/portugal_national_security_criminal_law_procedu~1143.html
“A clear procedural distinction existed between arrest and trial. A panel of three judges (which did not include the prosecuting judge) presided over cases that went to trial. A ministerial delegate assisted the judges in reviewing the evidence. At the request of the accused, a jury could be used in trials for major crimes. Provision for a jury system was a particularly significant innovation of the constitution. “

I’m sure a coloboma would have been a sign of something negative back in those days. Who knows? Perhaps Madeleine has some other defects that the family don’t want anyone to know about? It’s strange how we know so very little about the person who is central to the whole case.

Yes, I could have worded it differently. I have no problem in using that word because for decades - perhaps even over 100 years, the word has been used without a problem. I’m not about to start translating a useful word into something else so people like you don’t feel uneasy.
What you need to learn with your lessons in PC is that it’s the context a word is used as to whether or not it is offensive. I’m not here to give you lessons on English usage but offensive comes from the context in which it is used - not the word itself.

Several of yesterday’s British papers were about Madeleine’s grandmother’s “she was drugged comment”. This is an old story being rehashed why? Because it didn’t catch the attention of the public the first time; they know PJ has something big; or they simply have run out of stories?

Granny says police are ‘clawing at straws’
Wednesday September 12 2007
The grandmother of missing Madeleine McCann rubbished claims yesterday that DNA evidence found in a car hired by Madeleine’s parents after she had disappeared proved that the four-year-old’s body had been in the car.
Co Donegal native, Eileen McCann insisted that Portuguese police had “nothing substantial” to link her son, Gerry and daughter-in-law, Kate to their child’s disappearance and were “clawing at straws”.
“The thing is that little Amelie is wearing Madeleine’s sandals and she is in and out of the car. Cuddly toys are in it. Madeleine’s toys are in it. Madeleine’s tops are in it that Amelie is wearing. It’s nonsense,” she said.
Speaking on the Shaun Doherty Show on Highland Radio yesterday after returning to her Glasgow home from Portugal, Eileen described the events of the past week as “dreadful”.
“My son and Kate would never even slap their child, never mind do anything to harm her,” she said.
After Kate was taken in for questioning last Thursday, she said that Gerry was in a dreadful state.
“I had to be strong for him and say ‘if your Dad was here, what would he be saying to you? He would be saying be strong, we are fighting this because you are innocent’,” she said.
The 67-year-old added that Gerry was worried that Kate was going to be charged and she revealed that she was under strict orders to take the twins home on a plane if the parents were both going to be charged.
But she said that they were now home legally with the permission of the police and the Government and would go back if they were needed.
“They are running away from nobody because they are innocent,” she said.
She said that social workers had already spoken to Gerry about the twins.
“They have been to Gerry and they are very satisfied and said they were happy the children are fine, so that is just a normal process that happens if you are a formal suspect,” she said.
Eileen McCann stressed that they were still receiving a huge amount of public support. She added that she believed her granddaughter was drugged and abducted.
“If she was taken when she was sleeping by somebody she did not know she would have screamed the place down.
“I really believe they gave her a drug. There is no way they carried her out of there without her wakening,” she said.

287. Thank you for the link.
As dated as early as 21st of July, Rev. Hubbard’s prediction was revolutionary at that time blaming one of the parents of accidentally (…more or less) killing Madeleine, and thus maybe rejected and criticised. It is of course directly anti-mcCann without any compromises but describing a detailed possible development of the case. I think it has many elements that were not yet publicly circulating at that time, which of course would be symptonical for a PREDICTION. A part from that Madeleine’s fate is a sad tragedy and maybe this or other predictions don’t correspond with reality, still it needn’t be immediately played down as it’s one of the kind of approaches that are currently being looked into, psychics’ help. Has this been shown to the press yet? Surely there must be some reporters that think with their own brains?

If old Harry were to put his investigative hat on - he would not run with the barking Cadaver Dogs - the hounds of truth, who are investigative tools, not live evidence - they bark so plod knows were it may be worth looking for real evidence - hence their training is to try to limit the number of false negatives - i.e where they bark where this is no body etc. The problem with reducing the number of false negatives is the tendency to increase the number of false positives e.g barking without good cause. The past presence of a pork chop will usually be enough to set them off.
No old Harry will look for the dogs that did not bark - we have not heard from MM’s nursey teacher, or from her best friend’s mum, and, as noted, we have seen videos where she talks.
Still think it was abduction by a stranger, but I thought I should help you out You all seem to be in a rut today truth hounds,:look for the dogs that have not barked.
Carry on.

451. We have no idea exactly what PJ are doing because of the Portuguese secrecy laws.
As far as the Cipriano case, I had believed what the British press had written about it. But have since changed my mind after researching it more deeply. PJ did find Joana’s blood in her mother’s freezer. That’s very strange isn’t it?

Well, kind of. Sometimes you get those rare moments when you think of some bizarre conspiracy theory because it fits the evidence. Then, moments later you realise it’s daft…so yes, I thought of it then shot it down in flames.
