Madeleine McCann: Amaral Policing, Secrets Out And EastEnders
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE: PORTUGUESE POLICE CHIEF IS SACKED AFTER AMAZING OUTBURST.”
Page 9: “Madeleine detective kicked off case after blasting British police” – Chief inspector Goncalo Amaral says: “The British police have only been working on what the McCann couple want them to and what suits them.”
Says Amaral: “The Ocean Club is in Praia da Luz, not in London…It won’t be an email, and an anonymous one at that, which will distract our line of investigation.”
Mr Amaral is making reference to the email sent to the official website of the Prince of Wales last week claming a vengeful nanny had abducted Madeleine.
Pages 30 and 31: “HAIR-RAISING TRUTH ABOUT THE PSYCHIC BARBER – During the day Gordon Smith cuts hair, at night he claims he communes with the spirits. So does he really think he can help the McCanns find Madeleine?”
THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER confirms that former EastEnders actress Michelle Collins is a “BELIEVER”.
DAILY MAIL page 7: “Off the case. Madeleine police chief demoted after amazing rant against McCanns and British detectives”
Say Amaral: “They [the English] have been investigating tip-offs and information created and worked upon by the McCanns”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE: CHIEF COP SACKED.”
Page 10: “INSPECTOR CLUELESS GETS THE BOOT”
Page 11: “If Maddie IS dead she will tell me where he body is” – Says Gordon Smith
DAILY MIRROR front page: “Maddy copper is axed”
Page 7: “OFF THE CASE – Boozy cop is demoted after furious outburst against the McCanns”
THE SUN page 7: “MADDIE COP FIRED FOR McCANNS RANT – storm as bungler says family duped Brit police”
Comments Clarence Mitchell: “I can confirm that Kate and Gerry are aware of this development but we cannot comment”
THE GUARDIAN page 7: “Detective leading hunt for Madeleine sacked after blast at UK police” – Mr Amaral is 47. He has been demoted. He is 48 in the Sun. Such are the facts
Carols Pinto de Abreu, the McCanns’ Portuguese lawyer, says: “The McCanns cannot confess to something they did not do and cannot and should not lie to please the police”
THE INDEPENDENT page 8: “Detective leading Madeleine hunt dropped from case after outburst” – Amaral is being investigated over an alleged attack on the mother of a different missing girl. Read about that here
THE TIMES front page: “Detective in charge of McCann case sacked”
Page 9: “Madeleine detective sacked after outburst”
Alipio Ribeiro, Amaral’s boss, says: “The police should be discreet and keep quiet, but there is always someone who talks” – So much for those secrecy laws
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 15: “Madeleine inquiry chief sacked after attack on British police”
A “family friend” of the McCanns says: “What he [Mr Amaral] is saying is just plain wrong. Leicestershire Police are not doing anything on Kate and Gerry’s behalf. They are simply there for liaison. There is certainly no strategy to distract form the Portuguese investigation”
What investigation?

thank you for your greetings mods and admin.
i think whether or not maddie is found, the twins should be removed from the mccann charlatans.
I would regard nothing as fact on wiki on subjects of this nature.
the reason that it is unreliable is because it is the perfect breeding ground for ideas and claims by lobbying groups and media campaigners for both political and financial gain.
i did recommend it to a student I got at work earlier today though, that wanted to know why a tomato is known in some coutries as a vegtable after i had explained it was a fruit.
p.s. i did already know that it was a U.S. taxation issue though and i just wanted the lazy bastard to look it up himself

(745) Jon Snow …
That’s the link I initially posted. Anonymous says that Fiona Payne is incorrectly identified. Then, there’s a link in post 730 to some photos where there is a person who does not appear in the link that you and I have posted.
Questions: Who is the person in the link in post 730?
Who is the person who is, according to Anonymous, not Fiona Payne?

Vreni von Aesch says he wasn’t a paedophile. He was described by police as a suicidal psychopath. I also read they were investigating whether he was linked to the disappearance of other Swiss girls in the eighties, in places where he worked.

I’m getting confused by these photos!
In the link provided by Jolie in 730, who is the person walking between two people that I believe to be Rachel Oldfield and O’Brien?

I fully agree with you about Menezes and the cover-up and lack of anyone being prosecuted for it. Outright murder by agencies of the state with those responsible being promoted. It’s sick.

587 Murder
It was South Yorkshire Police who revealed that the cadaver ’sniffer’ dog had been sent down to a house in Devon and had found the smell of death on an article of a suspect’s clothing.
Russell O’Brien and Jane Tanner live in Exeter.
In Devon.
The reports were a couple of weeks ago

“557. Yes that’s of course true. But the persistent McCann claims Madeleine could not have possibly opened the unlocked door are really odd”.
REPLY: I think the explanation is very straightforward.
The McCanns needed to point the finger at an abductor. They also needed to explain possible blood on and around the window-sill. They were emphatic in maintaining that Madeleine could not possibly have ‘wandered off’ herself. Thereby they have, inadvertently or otherwise, virtually closed off the theory that Madeleine wandered off by accident that evening when she woke up, which you would have to say is unlikley even if the patio doors had been open (by the way, the patio doors could easily have been *unlocked* by Kate McCann when she went to the apartment at 10.00pm, just to lend maximum credence to the abduction scenario)

‘My position is that I look at how they are being treated, imagine myself in their position and then think how I would like to be treated were I in their place. So I endeavour to treat them as I would hope others would treat me. Old fashioned concept I know, but there you have it.’
Well said.
Can’t believe they would be hung, drawn and quartered by some people on the basis they they are ’shifty’ or some similar subjective opinion.

740. Seemed I read somewhere today that the link to Von Aesch is still under investigation by interviewing the widow. Otherwise, all I know is what I posted.

It could be possible. It still doesn’t explain a lot of the behavior of the parents after the abduction, though, not to me, anyway.
If the parents are innocent (and they really loved Madeleine) and there was evidence presented to them that suggested that Madeleine’s corpse was transported in your rental car, wouldn’t you try to put 2+2 together and say to yourselves ‘how can that be?’ and wonder if perhaps your friend, who used the vehicle, could have had opportunity and motive to do such a thing? I know I would. And I would be pressing the PJ to investigate that person(s) with all their might to find the truth or rule the person out as a possible abductor. Wouldn’t you?

Swiss police ruled out any link with von Aesch.
But he had accomplices. Was the DNA one of their’s?

Sorry, I will go and read to the kids now.
But in this book the bear hunt there is also a cave.
And in that cave is a huge bear.
I know it is ludicrous but my fingers are typing despite my brain trying to stop them.

How many people here have gone through a horrible tragic event - a death of a loved one, a child, God forbid a kidnapping of a young one - and in the midst of all the horror and tears, there is a glimmer of hope - and for no reason, the day seems good, you feel that all will be well, and maybe the hope even seems so odd , and you think you will survive this ordeal…..
and someone with a camera says “Smile”…..

No, there should be no action taken of that sort. I think they would well and truly have learned their lesson. No need for society to be vindictive.

730 - thanks for the link to this photo blog.
There’s something psychopathically weird about that photograph of Gerry, Kate and father posing with the Maddie t-shirt while smiling happily. I mean, honestly, you believe your daughter has been snatched and buggered by perverts or whatever ghastly fate awaited her, and you can pose with her forlorn picture with a big smile on your face … This is a very disturbing picture.

Anonymous,
Out of curiousity, did you also read when Paulo Reis had been informed that GM was the son of a Labour MP (now deceased)? A lot of people queried it and it also disappeared from his blog. It looked as if he might have been fed false information, as he swore his sources were reliable - didn’t name them but said there were two of them and they were from some kind of British government press department - can’t remember exactly, but I wonder if Clarence Mitchell had something to do with it - it was quite a while before CM actually started working with the McCanns but would have been after he had been in Praia da Luz with them.
It looked a little as if somebody might have wanted to take credibility away from the blog.

The son of Jack McCann (Michael) has denied absolutely any relationship to the good doctor.
I did post a link directly to his email to us earlier today

I know this is completely irrelevant but just bear with me.
Five months ago when I was completely engulfed in the horror of the happening I remember reading how Kate had appeared somewhere with Cuddlecat (who was not yet a celebrity) and Madeleine’s favourite book “We are going on a bear hunt”.
I just recalled that right now because I have read it to my children over the years.
The whole story is about a family going on a bear hunt. They are going to catch a big one. But then they have a challenge. Mud, They can’t go over it, they can’t go over it - they have to go through it. Challenge after challenge and every challenge is greeted with you can’t go over it, you can’t go under it you have to go through it.
And I guess that about sums it up - one has to go through it.

Thank you Krissie.. See my related post 609..
What I’m trying to say, badly perhaps, is the having genuinely discovered Madeleine missing, the McCann’s then panicked because they realised that their babysitting service was er cr*p and likely to lead to charges of wilful neglect, or whatever the correct legal term is. In an attempt to cover this they got the other members of the Tapas 9 to verify their alibi about checking the children at regular intervals.
Unbeknown to them a ‘friend’ was in fact the abductor/guilty party. As many have commented here and elsewhere friends and family will rarely if ever suspect a close friend or relative of any wrongdoing. It just didn’t occur to the McCann’s that one of their ‘friends’ might be responsible.
The police would never find any evidence of an abductor because the guilty party/ies is someone(s) who had regular access to the McCann’s apartment. Ergo, when the “Madeleine was abducted” theory starts to fall apart the finger of suspicion in all of this starts to point to the McCann’s because of their convoluted/unbelievable alibi that was originally only intended to cover their poor parenting skills.
It was, I believe, sometime before the McCann’s would have had any suspicion that the police were not buying the abduction theory. If you recall there was after a few weeks a real friction between the McCann’s and the police because the McCann’s thought the police were not doing enough to find Madeleine and/or publish Jane Tanner’s ‘description’ of the ‘suspect’. Equally if there was another guilty party/ies still on the scene/re-visiting the scene, they may have believed that the police had bought the abduction theory hook, line and sinker and then assumed, incorrectly as it later transpired, that it was safe to start moving the evidence. Unfortunately for the McCann’s this involved using their hire car.
As an aside, is something like the above was what happened, the sedation question might them become irrelevant in terms of the direct cause of Madeleine’s presumed death? Still question marks about why on earth a parent would do this, if indeed they were.
And yes, I know it’s all unsubstantiated conjecture… and no, I have no evidence to support it.

728. I think that link has incorrectly id’d Fiona Payne?
October 3rd, 2007 at 7:26 pm
727. Chloe from Spain. Thanks! I read Gazeta Digital but missed this one. Grainy photo but good enough for now. I too read the story about the other David Payne I think Paulo and others rightly questioned it at the time as probably being a different David Payne. Loks like they were right. The other David Payne looked younger than this man.

Has anyone noticed that most of the web publishings, that could be looked upon than being less than flattering to the McCanns, have been removed or censored.A relation of mine who works for a well known web engines answers page has said that they were told to remove questions about the priest and anything connecting him to the McCanns, you might try this link,if you know what I mean. http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070923142056AAnF7lz

Here is a link to photos of the Tapas9. I got it from P. Reis’ blog, although it was posted by someone making a comment. I see that the information on David Payne as the director of Catholic Evangelisation Services has disappeared from the blog. It seems that it was another David Payne (I saw a photo of the evangelising David Payne and he looked nothing like this one - someone else seems to have picked up on this and told Paulo Reis that he was mistaken).

707. Batman I don’t get it. I see a photo of a racing car. The name “David Payne” is I would think common. I am trying to find information - specifically a photo - of Dr. David Payne of the UK. He’s a research fellow at Leceister University (I think) and is connected to none other than Sir Alec Jeffreys.
Gotta go for real now. I just didn’twant you to think I was ignoring your comment. Thanks!

705. Actually since western astrology does not take into the procession of the equinoxes and is not based on any true scientific measurement there’s a very good chance Moderation that you are a narrow minded, pedantic, bossy, know-it-all, facts people! facts people lookem up! hypocritcal Virgo and not the kind loving open-minded Libra you imagination yourself to be.
Look up the facts about the science of astrology Moderation! Lookem up! Western/Tropical Astrology is not based on any modern scientific truth. For exact precise calculations you must cast a chart using real science - not 4th chicanery. This means Hellenic, Vedic or sidereal are the astrology schools which will offer verifiable unrefutable scientific data as to where each planet and asteroid in relation to the astrological constellations and give you a proper astrological blueprint for your date of birth.

Jaqueline de Croy Thanks for that description of Paedophilia rings. The question is what is the probability that a holiday site, or school or whatever is being watched for a possible abduction opportunity? And in which countries is this more likely to take place?
Are we simply dealing with unknowns? Or do we have a shrewd idea?

Have you noticed how Manon goes off and Krissie comes on.
If it is true that article has been tampered with - should the paper

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madeleine_Mccann:
…..”A mystery sample of DNA was found, on 1 June, in the bedroom from where Madeleine disappeared. The DNA did not match that of the McCanns, their three children nor that of Murat. The PJ handed the sample over to the national forensic science laboratories, the Instituto Nacional de Medicina Legal, and stated that there is a new suspect.[70] In early August there was a suggested link with Urs Hans Von Aesch who had been on holiday in the area around the time that Madeleine went missing. Von Aesch, a resident of Benimantell, Spain, who was implicated by Swiss police with the disappearance of five-year-old Ylenia Lenhard from Appenzell, Switzerland, had recently committed suicide
