Madeleine McCann: Amaral Policing, Secrets Out And EastEnders
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE: PORTUGUESE POLICE CHIEF IS SACKED AFTER AMAZING OUTBURST.”
Page 9: “Madeleine detective kicked off case after blasting British police” – Chief inspector Goncalo Amaral says: “The British police have only been working on what the McCann couple want them to and what suits them.”
Says Amaral: “The Ocean Club is in Praia da Luz, not in London…It won’t be an email, and an anonymous one at that, which will distract our line of investigation.”
Mr Amaral is making reference to the email sent to the official website of the Prince of Wales last week claming a vengeful nanny had abducted Madeleine.
Pages 30 and 31: “HAIR-RAISING TRUTH ABOUT THE PSYCHIC BARBER – During the day Gordon Smith cuts hair, at night he claims he communes with the spirits. So does he really think he can help the McCanns find Madeleine?”
THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER confirms that former EastEnders actress Michelle Collins is a “BELIEVER”.
DAILY MAIL page 7: “Off the case. Madeleine police chief demoted after amazing rant against McCanns and British detectives”
Say Amaral: “They [the English] have been investigating tip-offs and information created and worked upon by the McCanns”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE: CHIEF COP SACKED.”
Page 10: “INSPECTOR CLUELESS GETS THE BOOT”
Page 11: “If Maddie IS dead she will tell me where he body is” – Says Gordon Smith
DAILY MIRROR front page: “Maddy copper is axed”
Page 7: “OFF THE CASE – Boozy cop is demoted after furious outburst against the McCanns”
THE SUN page 7: “MADDIE COP FIRED FOR McCANNS RANT – storm as bungler says family duped Brit police”
Comments Clarence Mitchell: “I can confirm that Kate and Gerry are aware of this development but we cannot comment”
THE GUARDIAN page 7: “Detective leading hunt for Madeleine sacked after blast at UK police” – Mr Amaral is 47. He has been demoted. He is 48 in the Sun. Such are the facts
Carols Pinto de Abreu, the McCanns’ Portuguese lawyer, says: “The McCanns cannot confess to something they did not do and cannot and should not lie to please the police”
THE INDEPENDENT page 8: “Detective leading Madeleine hunt dropped from case after outburst” – Amaral is being investigated over an alleged attack on the mother of a different missing girl. Read about that here
THE TIMES front page: “Detective in charge of McCann case sacked”
Page 9: “Madeleine detective sacked after outburst”
Alipio Ribeiro, Amaral’s boss, says: “The police should be discreet and keep quiet, but there is always someone who talks” – So much for those secrecy laws
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 15: “Madeleine inquiry chief sacked after attack on British police”
A “family friend” of the McCanns says: “What he [Mr Amaral] is saying is just plain wrong. Leicestershire Police are not doing anything on Kate and Gerry’s behalf. They are simply there for liaison. There is certainly no strategy to distract form the Portuguese investigation”
What investigation?

Jolie..What I believe is based on facts..I’m not going to sit here and speculate on something that was completely twisted by PJ..I had some doubts at first..But I just heard the news on CNN..AND quite honestly there is absolutely not ONE piece of evidence against the Mccanns.

Just out of interest, does anyone know the names of the interviewing officers of the McCanns?
Was it the same officers for both of them or different one?
I can’t seem to find a link but then I’m pushed for time right now.

ALL of the “evidence” that was supposedly claimed..Was not real..Don’t you get it..That is the main reason Almaral got fired.
erm… part of the evidence to the mcculprits guilt is the fact they willingly left 3 kids unattended in their version of events.
their actions caused the death of their daughter be it murder, manslaughter or neglect, they caused it

How do you explain the bizarre amount of media coverage and financial and political support this case is receiving and the definite slant in favor of the McCanns in the British press?……
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Well, I can’t. That said I don’t think you need necessarily address this issue to make the ‘friend of the McCann’s scenario’ fly? Irrespective of whether scenario holds water or not you can still separately question the actions of the McCann’s, the media etc, etc.

No pro McCann person has also explained the bizarre shout of ‘frame’ before the police interviews. Perhaps because it is also impossible to explain if innocent, especially as the claim has died a death in spite of the fact that they would now be more convinced of it.

I knew it was a fruit. I misread your post and thought you had written that you thought the reason it was classified as a fruit (didn’t read vegetable, although that is what you wrote) was because of a US taxation issue.
I love to read and post here and I do it in a hurry to try to stay up with things, as there’s so much posting, but that leads to errors on my part.
But it wasn’t an entire waste of time. While reading through some of the articles about tomatoes-fruit or vegetable, I did learn something new from the link: that green beans and peas are technically fruits, too. Who knew?

Murder, your 75% probability for your ‘overdose of sedative’ theory is of interest; however, you leave out the five separate reports there have been of Madeleine’s blood being found in or near the apartment:
1. under a camp-bed or couch
2. on the wall of the children’s bedroom
3. on the curtains of the children’s bedroom
4. on the window-sill of the children’s bedroom
4. on the stone steps outside the patio door.
Now these *could* be all false reports. And I’m completely ignoring for the moment the possible body fluids of Madeleine in the hire car and all the absurd explanations that flowed from Team McCann for the possible presence of that, e.g. dirty nappies, taking rotting meat to the dump etc.
But then you have to explain the McCanns’ panic response to these claims, which IMO is of *far more significance* and which *not one* pro-McCann poster on this Forum, to my knowledge, has ever tried to explain - not surprising, really, because it’s virtually impossible to do so.
Such as, to give just two examples of their attempts to explain blood in the apartment :
1. Madeleine fell on the plane steps and cut her knee and that might explain the blood found, it might have fallen off on to her shoe
2. The blood on the window-sill may be because the abductor decided to climb through the patio door and then climb out of a window 3 to 4 feet above ground, carrying Madeleine with him as he did so (maybe sedating her as just before he did so, according to a McCann relative) and at the same time taking a few moments to put Cuddle Cat on a high shelf or ledge (oh, and by the way, Gerry McCann says the abductor may well have been in the children’s room with him when he went to check the children were sleeping at 9.05pm. But it was only a suspicion he had thought about afterwards, some time after the event).
Putting these two seys of factors together, I think a violent ‘rage’ attack on Madeleine, where either parent momentarily lost complete control, is a far more likely scenerio, though I really hope it was not that

How do you explain the bizarre amount of media coverage and financial and political support this case is receiving and the definite slant in favor of the McCanns in the British press? Do you think there is something more here that is being protected than just the investigation into the disappearance of a child?

guilty!!! my ass. if any of these skanks had an ounce of decency in their bodies they would have spilt the beans by now.
this sounds a lot more like a film now that the cheif detective has been taken off the case. is he gonna continue investigating in his spare time and nail the mcculprits

Tomato is scientifically/botanically categorized as a fruit because of how it grows.

Oh I totally agree, it doesn’t address lots of things. All I can suggest is that over a period of time the McCann’s feel they have been ‘got at’ by the Portuguese police and press and when presented with evidence of ‘body in hire car’, which by the way they KNOW cannot be true (they didn’t do it and they don’t suspect any of their friends) they think the police are trying to frame them.
The police become culpable in this scenario because having found that the McCann’s alibi doesn’t hang together they then make the not unreasonable logical leap that they must therefore be in some way involved in their daughters disappearance when in fact the real culprit is another party close to the McCann’s. This scenario may also explain why certain people felt the need to embellish/remember ‘facts’ months after these alleged events because now they are feeling guilty that the parents are incorrectly tagged as suspects.

since he is suppossedly under investigation, it maybe that he has been dropped from the team for stratigical prosecution reasons.

That article you posted is more evidence of the arrogance that eminates from Team McCann. Mr. Amaral was probably not too far off with his recent comments to the press, I suspect. I also read that it is allegedly claimed that when he made those comments to the local press, he thought he was ‘off the record.’ He might never have said that, of course, or he could be backpedaling. Myself–I would never say anything to a member of the media that I didn’t want printed–never would trust them with an ‘off the record’ comment unless I knew them very, very well and could trust them completely.
