Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann Becomes Mum
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – I CRY EVERY DAY SAYS KATE”
“For the first time she reveals her torment” – Kate gives the papers what they want: tears
Pages 6 and 7: “Madleine’s mum: I can’t stop crying” – Kate McCann is no longer Kate McCann; she is above all things Madeleine’s mum
“Obviously nothing can compare with the night Madeleine went missing,” says mum. And Gerry – dad’s – worst moment? “I think when we were made suspects in our own daughter’s disappearance – when the inference was that Madeleine was dead and that, somehow, we were involved…”
Yes…
“But, no it can’t get any worse than that first night…”
DAILY MAIL page 7: “Some days I just can’t stop the tears, says Maddie’s mother”
“Second police chief quits the case” – Tavares Almeida has followed his boss Goncarlo Amaral and left the business of Madeleine McCann to another lucky Portuguese cop
DAILY MIRROR front page: “KATE McCANN SPEAKS AS NEVER BEFORE..Every day felt like a week”
Page 5: “Being named suspects, the idea that we were involved, was terrible. But NOTHING can compare to the trauma of the first night our Madeleine went missing”
Kate is a “locum GP”. Gerry is a “heart specialist”. These are the facts. And they remain unaltered
The couple give an interview as they visit the offices of the Leicester Mercury newspaper, where they are presented with a cheque for £57,000 from the sales of the Madeleine wristbands
THE SUN front page: “KATE’S MADDIE ORDEAL – NOTHING’S AS BAD AS THAT NIGHT. Mum tells of torment”
Page 6: “I weep for Maddie…but we still have hope”
Says Kate McCann: “I’ve had days when if I wasn’t crying for Madeleine, I was crying from the messages people have sent us”
The McCanns “say their lowest point…was when Portuguese police declared them ‘arguidos’ – formal suspects over their daughter’s disappearance”. So not the night Madeleine disappeared, as the Express says?
Gerry is a “cardiologist”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE – Kate: I cry for my daughter every day”
Page 8 and 9: “Finding Maddie had gone was far worse than being named suspect in killing”
THE TIMES page 14: “The twins are the only part of our lives that are normal”
Kate McCann says: “There is a semblance of normality returning. It’s more normal than it was three weeks ago, Amelie and Sean can see that. But really how can it be normal without Madeleine?”
THE INDEPENDENT page 8: “Second officer steps own from Madeleine inquiry” – Tavares Almeida. Bad Times, as Tavares were wont to say
THE GUARDIAN page 15: “Sacked Madeleine detective’s deputy seeks leave” – Senor Tavares. (Heaven Must be Missing An Angel)
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “KATE McCANN: THE DAILY TORMENT OF LIFE WITHOUT MADELEINE”
Page 3: “The McCanns have kept Madeleine’s room the same as it was. The twins are allowed in for a few minutes - “Otherwise, the door remains closed most of the time”
Detectives make notes.

Try reading fact before you spout your rubbish.
In 1986 the first bearded vultures were reintroduced into the wild in Europe. Their main diet is bone. As we have no crocks, alligators, or hyena, they had no competition for food.
In an article re the release it states on http://www.spiegel.de/international/0,1518,435307,00.html
The bird feeds mainly on the bleached bones of dead goats and sheep. If the bones are too big, it drops them 50 to 80 meters onto plates of rock to shatter them, and eats the splinters. No other animal is capable of digesting bone which means that the Bearded Vulture has no competitors for its food. Its powerful stomach acids can dissolve even large bones.
The key is digesting.
Dogs are incapable of digesting bone period. They pass bone as powder.

Or at least choked up or cried, even if they were told not to by their advisors. How could you not be emotional when appealing to someone you think has your child? My heart would be pouring out through my face and words.

One would think, they might have said….
“Give us back our daughter you monster. If I get my hands on you, you’ll be sorry. I’ll rip your heart out you creep. You better not hurt a hair on her head…..” something like that….

From Gerry’s blog statement, unless charges are brought by the PJ, it looks like the McCanns’ legal team won’t be able ‘wrap things up before Christmas’ for them, unless the PJs are ‘persuaded’ to make an exception for the McCanns, I suppose.

What to do with a body where it might never be found…….someone said there would always be teeth, and I thought not really. Not if it was fed to a dog or a wolf……
October 5th, 2007 at 11:28 pm
after today’s deliberations, i’ve come to the following conclusion.
For the PJ:
re theory of abduction: if this was in fact an abduction., we’re looking for someone either with an air of sensitivity/sentimentality about them. to consider that an abductor with nothing but evil on his/her mind would pause to think and place a child’s favourite toy (Cuddle Cat) on a shelf rather than dash it to the floor while making a hasty retreat is unthinkable. especially for an abductor with no real connection to, knowledge of or feeling towards the child. this is no stranger who has ‘taken’ this child. this is someone who knows the child and knows what’s important to the child. look closer.
good night

That terrible thought has crossed my mind more than once.
I hope that the remarkably strong and extensive family/friends/neighbours/colleagues/local churches network will support them and enable them to cope somehow. God knows how. Her reported feelings don’t astonish me one little bit. KM has both parents still alive and GM has his mother. They will not want to add to the grandparents’ distress about Madeleine. Nevertheless, it is a burden you’d have to be almost superhuman to bear. They have said their faith helps them. I hope that continues.

Sorry if this is a repeat, but Gerry McCann has a new blog entry for today:
“Gerry’s Blog/Diary
Day 155 - 05/10/2007
It has been a quieter week for Kate and I. We did go into the Leicester Mercury on Wednesday to pick up a cheque for Madeleine’s Fund from donations for green and yellow wristbands. We did our first interview since returning from Portugal to say a huge thank you to everyone, especially here in Leicestershire, for supporting us during these last few dark weeks and months. Click here to read the interview. We have talked a little of life returning to ‘normal’ in Rothley. Several photographers are still in the village but otherwise it has been very quiet.
Kate and I will be going through the judicial process in Portugal to try and clear our name as quickly as possible. Obviously it is encouraging that the prosecutor has stated that all lines of enquiry are open. It is likely that we will be ‘arguidos’ for some time since this status remains until charges are brought or up to 8 months if no charges are made. The investigation will have a new coordinator appointed to replace chief inspector Amaral. We are happy to continue cooperating with the Portuguese authorities and in fact as arguidos, we can request that certain investigations are carried out.”

October 5th, 2007 at 11:22 pm
Sorry, had to answer this. Dogs don’t eat bone splinters in the wild. Raw bones do not splinter. Gads what is your problem with me?
You know absolutely nothing about dogs. How many dogs do you own. How many above 90 lbs?
How many raw bones have you fed your big dogs. I bet you feed them greenies or rawhide chews. Go buy a big dog and give it a raw bone, and watch what it does for heavens sake. Better yet, get a wolf and try it! My Pit bull at 70 lbs could devour a big bone in less than five minutes - dogs don’t chew! They crunch!

Myth 4: Never feed a dog or cat real bones, especially not chicken or poultry bones!
We’ve all heard this one before. The truth is, dogs and cats really can eat and digest bones of many types, as long as the bones are raw, not cooked. Cooked bones are brittle and prone to splintering. The splinters are the potentially dangerous part of feeding bones to dogs or cats. Raw bones are soft, flexible, and very edible

The priest who married the McCanns and who baptised Madeleine went out to support them very early on and spoke to TV reporters on at least one occasion. I remember thinking that it was an act of kindness which they would very much have appreciated.

Maybe the gerry can is a covert spy working for the government acting out the family on holiday bit, maybe looking for muslim terrorists someone got jist of this and saw an opertunity and stole the child, maybe thats the link with the british government and bush etc,but we cant be told this otherwise all cover is blown,so all the silly cover ups are coming out, be honest we are all spinning like a pinball, were told one thing one day and something else another day,and unfortunately the portugese papers got there first and blew the story, thats why mccanns are adament she is still alive somewhere in africa or morroco etc afterall as i asked yesterday has anyone herd owt from the doctors patients after all when shipman was arrested we herd all kinds of opinions from his patients, mmmmmmm……….me thinks…….just a thought

I’m gonna feed my wolf a big bone. Nightie Night and ado!
October 5th, 2007 at 11:17 pm
727 If a dog ate a bone splinter it would rip their insides to shreads. They grind them to mush (bone powder and spittal) before swallowing them. The bone is then as you say, passed in the stool. Eating something denotes digesting it. I was in fact wrong there are two tpyes of animal that can digest bone. Crockodiles/aligators, and Hyenas. No other animals have sulphruic stomach acid.

K all, I’m off to zzzzzzzzzzland now, rather late here, and got a busy day tomorrow. Have a great evening all!

Yip Stig, I really wish the option of old Piet would be considered. This man is an absolute marvel, and somehow just manages to get the things right!
So …. Mc’s …… there’s a REAL option there that would very probably get this case wound up, and a couple of conclusive answers really, really quickly …. I find it a great pity that he hasn’t even been considered as an option!
