Madeleine McCann: Danie Krugel Is The Locator, Gerry McCanns The Roof And Paedo Alert
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
NEWS OF THE WORLD front page: “Maddie was alive on beach”
“A renowned international manhunt expert, dubbed The Locator, sensationally revealed he has uncovered a telltale DNA trail left by snatched toddler Maddie McCann”
THE LOCATOR – in the papers and all over Praia da Luz from Sunday (see press for details). Anyone else see a made-for-TV series or a fly-on-the-wall documentary?
Ex-cop Danie Krugel has tracked the “forensic route” he believed her kidnapper took from her Madeleine’s Portuguese holiday apartment. It ends on the beach
Says Krugel: I spent four nights in July carrying out my searches. I’ve been able to trace where Madeleine was in the resort and have drawn a map which has been given to the police.
“I can’t reveal details as I don’t want to alert anyone who might try to disturb the scene. But I believe I’ve traced where she was taken that night and now it’s down to police to use their search experts to do the rest. The area to which my investigation led me is a difficult one to search”
Disturb the scene? The beach at a popular tourist destination made famous by the disappearance of a little girl? Yes, best not disturb that. And tell the wind and the tide to stop, too
A source “close” to the McCanns says: “The work of Mr Krugel should not be underestimated and gives great hope to Gerry and Kate. Many people have contacted the couple to try to help but while their hearts may be in the right place they just don’t have the expertise to be of assistance. But Mr Krugel has a proven record of finding people and his methods are extremely credible”
Like this credible helper. And this one. And this one. And this one…
SUNDAY MIRROR front page: “MADELEINE SENSATION – BOYFINDER CALLED IN”
• McCanns hire leading DNA expert
• He pinpoints area on local beach
• New cops urged to start digging
And fishing…
“Desperate Kate and Gerry McCann” sent a strand of Madeleine’s hair to South African police colonel Danie Krugel. The Locator has located the spot where Madeleine’s body is buried
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “WOMAN WHO COST MADDIE FUND £51K”
“Anguished Gerry McCann sensationally split from the expert masterminding the worldwide hunt for his missing daughter Madeleine after she put in a whopping £20,000 overtime and expenses bill”
PR Justine McGuinness charged Gerry and wife Kate £51,000 for 89 days’ work. “Her basic fee was £350 a day, making a total of £31,000. And the rest was made up in overtime payments and expenses - including bar and restaurant bills”
A source says Gerry saw the bill and “hit the roof”. He was “livid”
So she went. And was replaced by Clarence Mitchell
“Gerry was the only one who wanted Clarence,” readers learn. “He was determined to get him after building a strong relationship with him in Portugal. But nobody else wanted him because he had given Kate and Gerry - what some of the family thought of as - questionable advice”
Can the McCanns’ PRs get a PR before their names and sullied?
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “New police chief turns screw on McCanns”
MAIL ON SUNDAY: “MPs demand record of child-tracking devices over paedophile fears”
Oh?
“New laws to regulate the use of high-tech child-tracking devices are being called for by MPs amid fears they could be used by paedophiles and stalkers. The technology is aimed at parents wanting to keep tabs on their children after a series of high-profile child murders and the disappearance of Madeleine McCann”
Maybe all adults should be chipped instead? Or children paedo-proofed - why let it ruin your holiday?
THE TIMES: “Detective who suspected Kate and Gerry McCann may lead hunt”
Luis Neves, 41, is seen as a forerunner to replace Goncarlo Amaral as lead detective. He was seen by the McCanns as a “breath of fresh air” when he joined the inquiry team.
“But he later became convinced she had died in an accident in the McCanns’ apartment”
Or will it be Carlos do Carmo? He has no previous connection with the case, and was Amaral’s predecessor as director of the police in Portimao. The Times says he earned the respect of colleagues after bringing the killer of a police officer to justice
Who will it be: Carmo or Neves? Press your keypads now!
Or C: The British Supercop?
SUNDAY TELEGRAPH: “Police have open minds, insists Kate McCann”
“Kate and Gerry McCann are ‘furious’ at Portuguese police claims that British detectives believe their missing daughter Madeleine is dead”
Says Kate McCann to friends: “The police have told us they have an open mind. Of course we accept it’s possible Madeleine may no longer be alive but we don’t know and nor do the police, so we have to do everything we can to find her”
Clarence Mitchell refuses to comment on “the latest unfounded, unsubstantiated rumours”
A source says: “”Quite how any child would die falling off a sofa is beyond me”
She fell off the sofa? Really…
THE OBSERVER: “Forensic DNA tests ‘reveal traces of Madeleine’s body on resort beach’”
“Retired” South African police superintendent Daniel Krugel is on the beach
Are you?

The phrase drainage in the lower field is taken from The Fast Show characters Ted and Ralph

Eductaion is the sum of one’s life experiences. Academic achievement only plays a small part in the sum total of a persons knowledge, and cannot gage a persons trye educational standard.
Many people who did nothing at school earn thousands of pounds kicking a piece of plastic around. Others earn a few hundred pushing a pen. Who is the cleverest?
October 7th, 2007 at 4:24 pm
Judge Dread,
What do you mean by hoax abduction.
If my understanding of those two words is correct, I think my vote will also be there.

Ade. References to drainage and the lower field. This is obviously a coded message. Are you a McPlant?

Oh dear….. another ‘fact’
Communication (not education), my pretensious little chum, is the key

Manon. To really suggest that someone’s opinion - anyone’s - should be valued solely based on their education is luditosh. Certainly lack of educational achievement has not held back our dear friend Tricky Dicky Branson who ‘hindered by a learning disorder’ left school at age 16.

So how do the murder-culters explain how the McCanns killed Madeleine between 6.30pm & 8.30pm; pitched up for dinner, happy as larry, looking like nothing had happened; let a friend check on their (dead) child at 9.30pm; act shocked & distraught from the moment it was discovered she was missing from then on until the present day; hide the body & then dispose of it with no car & the world press watching them; call on British police to help, call in a retired detective with a track record of finding 5 children (however accurate that is); and never never in any police or press interview *ever* let anything slip that you they acutually did her in.
If you had killed your child in a sleepy town with a crap police force wouldnt you just let them get on with not calling a crime scene, doing rubbish forensics & finding nothing?

Well, I think I should be civil and explain my absence from this forum as of recently. Reason: I’ve realised I’ve got to act consistently with what I say. I expressed the view yesterday that in principle there was nothing to be gained from theorising as to the hows and the wherefores of Madeleine’s disappearance. I said that this was the job for the PJ and, insofar as Leicestershire Constabulary, FSS et al. are invited by the PJ to cooperate in the investigation, for them also. I also said that now as we seem to be going to have a real chief in Portimao as opposed to Mr leaky and one-track minded Amaral* (and I am PARTICULARLY encouraged by the predictions given in today’s Sunday Telegraph and Express), what I have said in principle can now be put into practice. And maybe with a new Portimao chief, at last we can get to the bottom of this affair. Whatever our opinions, we all want the same thing, ie. justice for Madeleine, justice for the culprit(s). So if I’m going to be true to my words I have posted, I think that I will just have to shut my mouth and bow out.
But I would like to say how I have enjoyed the exchanges I have been able to have. Ade, I liked the way you put me on the spot and made me question my modus operandi value-assumptions. Dee, I liked the way you engaged me in interesting constructive conversation although obviously our points of view are very different on this matter. And I will look at those videos when I get some time. Soothsayer, I very, very much appreciated your wry and way out humour. Maria and Stiggy, I thought some of your entries made a lot of sense. But of course, many people here will say: he would say that, wouldn’t he, he’s biased!!
Also, Stiggy, I was PARTICULARLY impressed by your entries. I was also intrigued by your poster which enclosed a link to the article about the death of three (was it that?) children who drowned in a motor car accident. This seemed to open up a new and somewhat unexpected avenue of discussion. I have decided to enclose another news article which I saved to favourites a couple of months ago, and which I think merits attention. Here it is: http://tinyurl.com/2f4j9g.
If I (personally) find it hard to see what useful purpose can be served by having a protracted amateur whodunit discussion about Madeleine’s disappearance (see first paragraph), I do on the other hand think that a proper forum debate about the child protection issues raised by the above provocative article, by the whole debate raised by those three little children being left alone in that bedroom, could be very interesting and potentially constructive. I might even be tempted to come back myself if that were to happen. But I’m not sure what useful role my opinions could possibly play, as I don’t have children myself.
Anyway, thanks for welcoming me into your forum (is that the right word?). I do warn you: I DON’T PROMISE TO KEEP AWAY. Might come back (sorry!). And if meanwhile anyone should want to communicate with me (I can’t see why they would with a fairly boring chap like me, but who knows!!) you can write to me at: first name as in blog name DOT mills AT tiscali DOT be. I won’t promise to answer or when to answer and probably won’t allow myself to get into any long discussions. But you can write anyway.
*Sorry! I know it is said that many of his officers in his local patch hold him in high regard and so my judgement may be wrong, but…

Bad grammar can point to bad education but in my case it doesn’t.
A mistake with an apostrophe can also point to a typographical mistake.
Incorrect interpretation of evidence can point to bad education or prejudice. I think you are prejudiced by an incorrect interpretation of my grammar and also the DNA/cadaver dog evidence.

Yep, you’re right about the apostrophe. Go call up the Grammar Police.
I’m pro Madeleine and pro truth. That means the abduction theory has no more weight than unlawful killing. There is DNA and cadaver dog evidence suggesting otherwise.
******************************************************************
Well bad grammar points to bad education (& being a bit der), and devalues everything you say.
Oh yes the *reports* of dna evidence - they can’t even pin-point to one person or another within the family. And a dog going wild at a smell.
If the the dna evidence was anything like as conclusive as Amaral claimed the McCanns would have been charged by now. But the magistrate won’t even call them back to be re-interviewed. Perhaps he knows something you don’t…

October 7th, 2007 at 3:58 pm
The McCanns have used smoke and mirrors by planting the abduction story in everyone’s mind. There’s not one shred of evidence of an abduction - at least nothing has been published.
October 7th, 2007 at 3:57 pm
Manon - I don’t know who was mentioning Gerry sending coded messages via his blog. Don’t understand the relevance.

October 7th, 2007 at 3:55 pm
Judge Dread
I didn’t say there was DNA or dog evidence that proves anything. I said there’s DNA and cadaver dog evidence which suggests more than an abduction. There’s no evidence of an abduction at all. It’s just the words of the parents and their own testimony.
October 7th, 2007 at 3:55 pm
Mods and Admin when is the site going to be fixed, I hate not seeing the post numbers.
