Ex-cop Danie Krugel has tracked the “forensic route” he believed her kidnapper took from her Madeleine’s Portuguese holiday apartment. It ends on the beach
Says Krugel: I spent four nights in July carrying out my searches. I’ve been able to trace where Madeleine was in the resort and have drawn a map which has been given to the police.
“I can’t reveal details as I don’t want to alert anyone who might try to disturb the scene. But I believe I’ve traced where she was taken that night and now it’s down to police to use their search experts to do the rest. The area to which my investigation led me is a difficult one to search”
Disturb the scene? The beach at a popular tourist destination made famous by the disappearance of a little girl? Yes, best not disturb that. And tell the wind and the tide to stop, too
A source “close” to the McCanns says: “The work of Mr Krugel should not be underestimated and gives great hope to Gerry and Kate. Many people have contacted the couple to try to help but while their hearts may be in the right place they just don’t have the expertise to be of assistance. But Mr Krugel has a proven record of finding people and his methods are extremely credible”

Julie- quotes came from Manon earlier today on this thread. He/she had a really big hang up about spelling and grammatical correctness. I found a link about Kugler but Manons respose was, if they(the mcs )had anything to do with Madeleines dissapearence would they hire this guy and unearth what could have happened. If Kugler and his machine had the capabilities he is announcing would SS, FBI, Pope, Queen of England and Uncle Tom Cobbly not have jumped on him and cesored this revelation.

I just did a search and it states on news 24 dated 5.4.07
The five girls who disappeared between 1988 and 1990 are Joan Horn, 13, Odette Boucher, 11, Anne-Marie Wapenaar, 12, Yolande Wessels, 12, and Fiona Harvey, 12. Their bodies have never been found.

Matty, where did you hear about the 5 children he’s found with his machine? Were they his own claims?
I did read somewhere a while back that he’d “miraculously” found a child who’d gone missing, but there was no ra-ra in the media over it, nor any further confirmation!

Another thought just occurred to me. If Madeleine was behind in her development as some have claimed, then she probably would be behind in her speech development as well.

Could he not market his machine through JML and it be used for missing keys, dog gone on walkabouts,lost your mobile/handbag /wallet whilst out on the razzle. If his machine can locate ,through quantum physics reportedly, 5 children so far why stop there. Not sure about mobiles etc does his machine need DNA? Would still work with lost dogs .If the owners are so negligent as to let their dogs roam free or leave the gate open, heaven forbid.

Fair point Julie would have made more sense. However, spliting the twins would have caused the remaining twin a lot more grief than Madeleine going missing.

My view on the “hoax abduction” theory …. there’s just no ways!
The chance of Madeleine being able to speak out when she is miraculously found is too great. Therefore one of the younger children would have been “hoax abducted”.

Still not happy with the trail she would leave behind. It was my original theory when on Day 2 I smelt a very unsavoury rat. But I thought a ‘miracle’ reappearance would happen after the Papal blessing.
If it is a Hoax Abduction - would have made sense to ‘bring her back’ sooner. Still means these are parents from hell.
What is their motivation? Fame/notoriety, Power, Money?
God this whole case stinks. Poor poor little girl. What on earth did she ever do to warrant any of this. Back to the match….hope you will have some responses by half time though!

Matty - to be very honest with you, if this “invention” does turn out to be the real thing ….. I have my salt and pepper pot next to me to eat my keyboard! I honestly cannot believe with all that this man “claims” that I (living in the same country as him, and who reads the news every day) have not read about his “amazing” finds all over every single bit of media!

The hoax abduction theory is a money making scam which is far safer than a hoax kidnapping.
With a kidnapping there would be a ransom. With a hoax abduction there is as we’ve seen a £1m plus fund already banked. The fact that they refused to expand the initial charity application to other children gives credibility to the theory because they have no one to answer to in respect of the fund being in the bank account of a private company.

Julie-I read somewhere today that this could be an international breakthrough. With Kuglers machine the likes of Osama Bin Laden will have nowhere to hide. The Mcs reportedly in the Guardian online requested his services back in July. I am not sure if this request ,that was reported, required an exchange of money from the Find Madeleine Fund.

Wouldn’t Madeleine, when returned, be able to describe who she was with and where she was these last months and thus lead any investigation back to any accomplices? If the McCanns could EVER be linked to such a hoax abduction they would face charges of perverting the course of justice, obtaining money under false pretenses etc.
It would depend on how well she speaks, and if she knew the person who has her. Just because the McCanns would know the person they passed her to, doesn’t mean Madeleine would. If they did stage a fake abduction, perverting the course of justice and deception would be the least of their worries.
And, where is she being kept? Must be under lock and key because her face is known everywhere by now. Could her parents really subject her to that knowingly?
She would obviously be kept in a remote area. There is no reason why the McCanns can’t speak to her on a daily basis using a web cam and microphone on MSN Messenger. It wouldn’t leave a keystroke trail other than when logging on.

I haven’t been here all day, and started to read the comments, but decided to just fall in at the end as there are too many!
The first few comments that I read had many questions about the certain South African with miraculous claims of knowing where Madeleine’s body is buried, with his “soooper-doooper-makemerichovernight-scientificallyproven-wonder machine”!
I’ll give my point of view on this according to what I’ve heard about this man. (BTW for those who where wondering, THAT hairstyle & moustache most certainly don’t represent South African men - YUK!).
1. If Danie Krugel’s wonder machine was so fantastic, he would have, by now, been a household name in SA - HE IS NOT!
2. If same wonder machine was the “miracle-missing-person-finder” such as he claims, he would have made the front page of every single newspaper worldwide - HE HAS NOT!
3. A magazine programme in our country contracted him to try and find the bodies of the 6 missing girls that Susannah mentioned much earlier this morning (was about 2 months ago) - HE COULD NOT !
4. Rosemary said earlier this morning that she’d tried without any luck to find evidence of his success - SHE WON’T FIND IT!
IMVHO this man is an absolute fraud who is trying to make a quick buck out of other people’s misery, and as a South African, I am very ashamed to say this!
He claims that the theory of “quantum-physics” makes his machine work. As far as I can gather, this scientific theory is totally unprovable and therefore holds no water!
