Dr Sargento cross-checked times and events from the moment that Kate and Gerry McCann went to pick up their children from the resort’s kindergarten at 4pm, until 10pm, when Mrs McCann reported that Madeleine was missing from their apartment.
He found that from the moment when the McCanns arrived at the tapas restaurant at 8pm, seven people in their party got up a total of 14 times in two hours.
Dr Sargento told SIC television: “There were people passing almost every five minutes. The question is how, in that time, could it be possible with so many people coming and going that no one saw someone coming in through the window without being seen? We have concluded this theory is very inconsistent.”

Just-me- but Clarence has said they want to clear their names first and find Madeleine later. Nobody stopping them look for Madeleine, they have a legal team to put together a defence of their good name. Mcs have access to computers, the legal team could email or better still blog all updates

i don’t think this story is believable. however, m.e. or keith (sorry i cannot see post numbers) you bring up a good point. that being in their messy timeline i don’t recall the mccanns checking on the other apartments? it always sounded like it was the others doing most of the checking until later in the evening it was gerry and then shortly therafter kate? but to their villa only they never talked as if they ‘made the rounds’ as the others have allegedly claimed to have done.

Any predictions how long it will take Clarence to put forward a refutation (or launch an attention distracting manouevre?) It’s been 60 minutes since the Time online published. My guess is within the next three quarters of an hour.
