Supposedly, all the children were in the apartment - what if there was an accident and one child dies playing or is hurt etc. while all the parents are out?
Has anyone thought of that - of a child hurting another child - or maybe Maddie drowns in the bath, wakes up decides to take a bath, or the tub is full and not emptied? And they all are having a bit of splashing fun……
Daily Mail is carrying the story too of all children in the apartment and just Maddie dies!

mike there is one hole, well actually many many holes, but one big huge hole in your scenario. and that is that this wasn’t a classic ‘key’ party so no keys or fishbowl necessary. they left their villa doors unlocked for easy access. if you don’t mind my pointing to one of your holes. sorry i know it’s rude but i feel we are very close to solving this mysterious holey mystery.

i think we need to observe the waitstaff. it was written that one of them was portuguese but with a “british style”. i think this is code for gay. so i think at least one waiter was serving someone. oh and btw, according to several waitstaff accounts they started off that evening with a round of margaritas which even without salted rim is a highly androgynous cocktail. there is no telling how the mixture of red and white wine along with many many trips to the loo to share a substance popular in the 80’s but is according to my gay friends in Manchester hugely popular again in the uk, could have uniquely unbridled long held passions and curiosities amongst the sophisticated tapas 9.

From the Telegraph Today:
But there are new rumours swirling, including one that the McCanns and the three couples they were on holiday with left seven of their children sleeping in the McCann’s apartment while they dined in a nearby tapas restaurant.
If true, the claims would cast fresh doubt on the reliability of the friends’ evidence, Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas reported, quoting a senior PJ officer as saying: “It’s not just the evidence gathered which point to the fact of there being more children in the apartment, there is also the evidence duly backed up after interrogation upon the rest of the people who were in the Ocean Club that only the McCanns’ apartment was visited by the people who participated in the dinner.”
