Madeleine McCann: DNA Jigsaw, Torture And The Twilight Zone
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE DNA PUTS PARENTS IN FRAME. British experts insist their tests are valid”
Page 7: “DNA tests ‘fill in more pictures of jigsaw’” – A source close to the investigation provides the headline quote. But what has been found is unsaid, and how it involves Kate and Gerry McCann
“New police chief is accused of torture” – Chief inspector Tavares Almeida is to face charges of “beating up a robbery suspect in custody”. The Express says this is a “torture scandal”. The alleged victim – who was accused of being part of a gang that sexually abused children and coerced them into violent muggings - was acquitted
Mr Almeida was dubbed “Kate’s Tormenter”, possibly by the Express today
DAILY MAIL page 8: “New DNA tests ‘put the McCanns back under suspicion’”
The McCanns, both “doctors” are said to be “extremely distressed by the claims”
DAILY MIRROR page 7: “COPS GAVE UP SEARCH THREE MONTHS AGO”
“Investigation in tatters as second detective accused of violence”
THE SUN front page: “McCANNS’ AGONY – MADDIE: NEW DNA LINK TO KATE”
British forensic scientists “are said to believe tests on fresh clues support earlier findings that led to the McCanns being declared suspects”
Page 4: “McCANNS ‘LIVING IN A TWILIGHT WORLD’”
Clarence Michelle says: “We had reports that DNA had proved ‘inconclusive’ and even it had put the McCanns in the clear.”
Reports from whom is not reported
“Now there are reports that the DNA is making them look suspect. There are wholly innocent explanations for any material police may or may not have found. This just goes to show what a twilight zone we are operating in”
The Twilight Zone – wasn’t that the name of the TV show with the sting in the tail?
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE: NW DNA DAMNS PARENTS. Brit police find shock evidence”
But they have not been arrested. The McCanns are just suspects. How is this damning?
Pages 8 and 9: “MADDIE: SHOCK NEW DNA CLUE TO PARENTS – Boffins say cops on the right trail”
“Torture rap cop” – Tavares Almeida is 48
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 9: “Portuguese police ‘right to focus on McCanns’”
A British source says “Everything that has emerged indicates that the investigation is focusing where it should”
A British detective says the case is being “done back to front” – the parents should have been looked at first. The mantra is: “Clear the ground from under your feet”

Quick duck the grammar police are standing watch and all is well in blogland:
The verb loan is well established in American usage and cannot be considered incorrect. The frequent objections to the form by American grammarians may have originated from a provincial deference to British critics, who long ago labeled the usage a typical Americanism. Loan is, however, used to describe only physical transactions, as of money or goods; for figurative transactions, lend is correct: Distance lends enchantment. The allusions lend the work a classical tone.

Frankly this cardiologist who surely all his patients are pretty ill, never lost one , and the locum GP says she lost six. Know who I would prefer to look after me
I feel another limerick coming on!”
I would believe that if time and movement coincides with the police searching stuffs and stuff being stolen than a reason for loosing an item with some traces would be really cosy. Don’t you agree? I am not saying that’s the case but an investigator should be looking for an answer. Investigator should “clear the ground under their feet”…

I’m glad I’m not the only one who is still thinking about the Huelva link. And talking of Orwell, where are Mods and Admin and Tony Bennett today? Have the Ministry of Truth caught up with them and turned them into unpersons?
I’m still thinking of the hire cars too. Putting the rumours together, it seems that in July the forensic cops and cadaver dogs checked out about twelve cars. Most of the posters on here seem to slavishly accept that hard evidence was found in the Renault Scenic only, and that all the other cars came up “clean as a whistle.” But as I’ve said before, it would be unthinkable for the cops then to hand the Scenic back to the McCanns.
Have Paulo Reiss or any other Portuguese journalists actually done any sniffing around in PDL to see whether anyone e.g. a hire firm has had a car impounded recently?
I’m trying to figure out a possible list of cars that were searched:
1. The Renault Scenic
2. Murat’s own car.
3. The car Murat hired when he lent his own car to “the English couple.”
4. The mystery jeep mentioned by Tony Bennett and others
5. The mystery Micra spotted on PDL photos by the Mirror Forum
6. The mystery black saloon car that had been parked earlier at the spot where Portuguese sniifer dogs traced Maddy’s scent on Day 1
7. Murat’s mother’s car
8&9. A couple of dummy cars to test the accuracy of the cadaver dogs.
That still leaves at least 3 cars, and some rumours have said that DNA was found in two cars.
We’ve never been told for sure whether or not any of the Tapas 9 had access to a car on 3 May.
It’s the mystery black saloon that intrigues me. AND MAYBE there were TWO Renault Scenics available for hire. After all, it must be quite a popular type of car with British families out there. That’s why when people read press reports about “evidence found in the McCanns’ Renault Scenic hire car” they automatically assume it to mean the car they were driving the day they left Portugal. But it could mean a DIFFERENT Scenic hired earlier.
Let’s hope this Paulo Rebelo turns out to be as competent as he sounds.

Sometimes children are denied as being their own children, they are relatives……they are something else, sisters (aunts)……etc.

Is this the truest comment made by a journalist in the past 5 months?
Matthew Pariss (columnist for ‘The Times’)
“The whole disgusting business, the whole media-driven infatuation with this little girl and her parents, the whole sick, morbid, sensational campaign of news generation and news manipulation, has been a disgrace to the British media. “

“it all seems a little surreal!”
Especially when you have to add in the bit where they hypnotise the nanny so that when she gets back to the UK weeks later, she gives an eye witness account that categorically states Madeleine was alive and well at 6pm that day.

There once was a man called McCann
Who fooled us into his scam
He drafted in the world
To search for his girl
Then waited for both shit and fan.

Last post. Forgot to mention the rest of the deck of cards are of pictures of other families missing children, who also pay a small fortune for this small piece of hope. Bearing in mind there is a one child rule in China. Prove your child is missing and you can have another.

Who lifted her nightie
It was Roger, the doctor, the Sod.

Well said Batman, and I salute Carreforre. I just think Maddie continues to deserve our attention as long as the Tapas 9 don’t give a coherent accounts of their whereabouts on May 3rd. How can 9 people with responsible jobs and, presumably brains, tell such disparate stories. These people are the pitts!

815. True, so true. In a flash of anger, a flash of emotion, in a split second.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:50 pm
Batman- you watch that too. I mentioned it last night on the posts and this morning. Those poor people with missing children pay a fortune to have their missing childs picture put on one card in a full deck of cards and live in hope they are spotted.

On the accident theory I have a true experience - when package holidays became popular in the late 60s I was taken to Spain age 11 with parents, 3 yr old sister and aunt , uncle and cousins.
Parents trying to settle sister to sleep to be babysat by hotel maid - adults and older kids going out. I knocked on door of our hotel room as needed to use toilet and was turned away angrily for disturbing little sister. Toilet in other the other family’s room in use and I was desperate - knocked again. My father opened door and hurled me across the room. marble slippy floor. I collided with a chair and narrowly missed crashing into french windows leading to balcony.
Moral of the story is accidents can happen and a brief moment of frustration can lead to tragic circumstances.

Mr Rebelo made his career at the Central Directory for the Investigation of Drug Trafficking before being appointed one of four associate directors of the PJ. He was head of the Criminal Investigation department in Lisbon when it uncovered a notorious paedophile ring. The “Casa Pia” ring had been abusing boys at state-run children’s homes for decades before being uncovered in 2002. Those alleged to have been involved included senior politicians, a former ambassador, celebrities and wealthy businessmen.
From TimesOnline
The Portuges police makes a paedophillia expert the new head of enquiries.
All the Tapas children were in the same room.
Disturbing.

Dont think for one moment my girl that the more the limericks you produce the more likely you are to win. The McCanns have alredy come up with 6,666 explanations for the origin of the smokescreen and still we dont believe them.
