Well, I don’t think “bungled” is subjective in this case, but even if it is, I stick by it.
Far too late to be doing these tests. Did they not WANT to find the truth? And why still be using Almeida who is charged with beating up a suspect? He was there in the apartment today!!!!!! NOT wise in my view.

Can’t see how the kids’ DNA can prove they were there on the night. But who knows?!
Paulo Ribelo seems to mean business doesn’t he? But he shouldn’t have used Almeida for today’s work, assuming that story is true. Could be more newspaper rubbish.
(By morning we might be reading a denial from the Leicestershire police that there’s any testing of tourists going on at all. Or the Times will be saying that online report was only a figment of our imagination! And then it will be the Pope who stole her…….or one of the grandmothers…….or Camilla Parker Jones perhaps.)

One of the couples used the baby sitting service. Maybe that accounts for Clarrie the Clown’s reference to seven children, instead of eight. He is proving that he really is right with the programme and isn’t going to be humiliated by nit-picking pedants trying to make him look like a half-witted PR kitten…

A sin of omission! Declining to comment is generally accepted to be because the person has something to hide. But as David Payne has already acknowledged he had been in the McCanns’ apartment at 7-pm and seen Madeleine being put to bed, one can assume that he also saw his own children either being put to bed or just there at the same time - otherwise, what was he doing in the McCanns’ apartment at bed-time, 7-pm? I thought this was strange when it was mentioned.

Goodness, is that McCann debunker THE REAL STIG still haunting these forums?.
What are we to assume? He spends virtually all of his time on here, and lambasts me, no.562, quoting me from a posting I made AGES ago. How on earth did he dig that out? Or did he have it already copied and pasted? Is he accumulating, saving and disseminating posts from those that dare to breach the official McCann line? Is he REALLY working for the Clarence Clique? POLICE yesterday searched the McCanns’ holiday apartment after new evidence suggesting that four more children had been in the room with Madeleine when she vanished.
In the first fresh search for more than two months, three Portuguese officers arrived in Praia da Luz shortly after dawn and spent several hours at the Ocean Club.
It was not clear what they were hoping to find but the visit coincided with the appointment of a new “no-nonsense” head of the investigation, Paulo Rebelo.
The Policia Judiciaria claim they have new evidence to suggest it was not just the McCanns’ three children who were in the apartment on the night Madeleine went missing.
According to reports in Portugal yesterday, police now believe that Kate and Gerry’s seven friends, who dined with them at a tapas restaurant that evening, also left their children asleep in the same room.
If proved, the bombshell claim would destroy the credibility of the group – now dubbed the Tapas Nine – who have always insisted that they were all responsible for checking on their own children in their own apartments.
It would cast further doubt on the McCanns’ claim that Madeleine was snatched by an abductor.
Last night friends of the group rubbished the allegation and said it made no sense to put all the children to sleep in the same room.
The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell added: “If you put seven children together, you’re going to have a far harder time getting them to sleep than three.”
Yesterday’s ramping up of the investigation came on the day Portugal’s most senior policeman, Alipio Ribeiro, appointed his right-hand man Paulo Rebelo to take over the Madeleine investigation.
It has always been understood that Madeleine and two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie had been left alone in the apartment. But local police sources claim they have unearthed new forensic evidence which suggests there were also four other children there that night.
A source said they were looking at the theory that all the group’s children had been put in the same room to make it easier for the adults to check on them while they enjoyed dinner. But they have not explained what the new evidence is and how it can be proved to refer to that night specifically.
It is thought that the McCanns’ friends’ children had visited their apartment to play with Madeleine, Sean and Amelie several times that week.
But a Policia Judiciaria source said: “It is not just the evidence gathered which points to the fact of there being more children in the apartment, there is also the evidence, duly backed up after interrogation of the rest of the people who were in the Ocean Club, that only the McCanns’ apartment was visited by the people who participated in the dinner.”
If there were seven youngsters in the apartment that night police think it is unlikely that Madeleine, who was the eldest at nearly four, would have been the one snatched.
A high-ranking Policia Judiciaria officer said: “Unless we are dealing with a sexual predator who had been following the little girl for quite some time, which is not probable because they had only been in the Algarve for six days, it would be highly unlikely she would be chosen.
“In crimes of this nature, the criminals always look for younger children because they are easier to sell.” Police have always been concerned about apparent inconsistencies in the stories of the group dining with Kate and Gerry that night. They have even been accused of orchestrating a “pact of silence”.
Police are thought to be intrigued by claims made by Dr Russell O’Brien’s partner Jane Tanner that she checked on her daughter at 9.15pm.
A police source said that if this was true, then she must have seen Gerry McCann speaking to his friend Jeremy Wilkins near her apartment – but she had never mentioned that in her statement.
The McCanns friends have always maintained that any inconsistencies are the result of confusion and trauma from the evening.

We, cannot know yet, we only have the word of others via the media, unless anyone is very close to the investigation.
The PJ may have a very different, but maybe effective, way of working.
100 days is a long time for G&K to be under constant surveillance on their grand tour.

The other two main women also look rather dikey. I haven’t really seen clear images of the guys except Gerry and O’Brien, who are both ordinary. I don’t think any of them look like the coke-fuelled orgy type, but I suppose you never can tell… Does anyone know how well the 4 couples knew each other prior to the Praia da Luz holiday, ie; were they all friends independently or did they make each others acquaintance via G & K?
