Madeleine McCann: Ben Needham Is Missing, Operation Predator And Maddie’s Cops
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “McCanns warn: We’ll sue over claims we drugged our children”
Page 7: “Madeleine parents: We have never sedated our children” – The “slurs” are “outrageous” and “hurtful”.
The theory that they sedated all of their children is a “wild theory”. It appears in Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas, a source for “some of the more outlandish reporting”. The Express reproduces the outlandish reporting for its readers to digest and marvel at
“Grim hunt for images as child-porn ring is smashed” – Operation Predator is a clamp down on child porn in Portugal. A friend of the McCanns says: “This shows the scale of the problem in Portugal and appears to show that the Portuguese police seem to be looking in the right direction. It may provide vital leads”
But the raids were not directly connected with the Madeleine case. Operation Predator was six months in the planning
THE SUN front page: “Maddie: cop raid on pervs”
Page 7: “McCANNS’ DELIGHT AT PAEDO SWOOP” – Kate and Gerry McCann are “encouraged” that 300 Portuguese police “smashed” a 80-strong paedophile ring
“’FIND OUR KIDS TV’” – Kate and Gerry have backed a TV channel that features the 150,000 UK children that go missing each year. Pictures of missing children will be shown at GP surgeries, shopping malls and hospitals
Page 37: “MISSING BEN AGONY – We were too working class to get help like Maddie’s family” – The mother of Ben Needham, who disappeared 16 years ago on the Greek island of Kos – sees haves and have nots
“I was 19,” says Kerry Grist. “Just an ordinary girl from a council estate and people thought, ‘She will just go away in a few months, have another child and forget about it…I don’t think people thought Ben was important enough.” Or the media didn’t…
Kate McCann is a doctor. Gerry McCann is a heart specialist. Both Madeleine and Ben are blonde
DAILY MAIL page 5: “Huge porn swoop offers hope of a Maddie clue”
“Could Ben still be alive?” – Ben Needham disappeared from near his grandparents’ farm house
Says Mrs Grist, Ben’s mum: “Madeleine’s parents are middle class people with important jobs and seemed to have had a publicity machine behind them straight away”
DAILY MIRROR page 15: “WHY STAY IF SHE HAD SOMETHING TO HIDE?”
A pal of Kate McCann says: “She could not tear herself away [from Portugal]. What mother could leave the place where her daughter vanished? …If she had something to hide why would she hang around in Praia da Luz waiting for the police to come knocking on the door?”
We don’t know. Why?
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE POLICE ARREST 80 PAEDOS”
Madeleine McCann does not have her own police force – not yet. But the police working on one case are Portuguese, like the police in her case. It’s an “EXCLUSIVE”
Page 7: “MADDIE COPS RAID PAEDOS” – The Star sees Gerry McCann leaving his home in a car. “STRAIN” reads the caption
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 17: “Madeleine police turn spotlight back on paedophiles”
“Missing children TV hopes to jog patients’ memories” – Ben Needham is missing. Xiao Xiao is missing. Lee Thomas Wedge is missing. Leanna Petrenko is missing. Abigaile Sommerville is missing. Andrew Paul Gosden is missing
THE INDEPENDENT page 24: “Mother in plea to missing son” – Ben Needham is missing
THE TIMES page 11: “Madeleine police return to kidnap theory”
German and Dutch police are believed to have been asked to trace and interview guests staying at the Ocean Club when Madeleine went missing
THE GUARDIAN: No Madeleine news today

Yes, you’re right, we’re on completely different planes , and I see you are unable to debate when you’re outwitted.

Taking a cue from the excellent Father Ted series I suggest “feck” as an alternative term. Especially when used with “Arse, drink, girls”…

“i just gave you two facts, where they changed stories on record.
you waffled again.
i.e. i was right.
all mouth, no substance
no one is innocent until proved guilty.
that’s waffle again.
they are either guilty or not.
ignorance of the law isn’t a defence.
if any reasonable minded person would believe them to be arseholes, they’d be guilty.”
And finally…
” find it hard because my finger keeps trying to type ‘arse’ ”
Really?
LOL
Sorry Matthew, wish I could help. Seems like a case of confusion , delusion or the pot calling the kettle!
its good to laugh.

On the subject of M’s biological parentage I think that her features are very similar to Kate’s - I also think the twins resemble M.
Why do many posters make reference to G’s height(or lack of) - he appears to be of average to tall in height - not short anyway. Kate is a tallish woman and he is slightly taller than her. How did this start?

Since investigating fucking of all types is what I do best, except the off types, I offer no apologies for my job description either and neither does my cohort the Pink Panther.

Peter O, you believe Gerry had a haircut and went running on May 4?? Now why in the WORLD would you believe that? I mean, sheesh, you may as well tell me you believe in the Loch Ness Monster.

My wife has some formal medical training and she thinks most people would use travel sickness tablets or cough mixture also. Here is that post by Miss Match I was referring to:
“If the McCanns did sedate their children, an over the counter paediatric type of antihistamine or cough mixture would have definitely made them very sleepy. I agree though that sun, sea and beach time is enough to make children very tired on holiday.
As for using stronger sedatives, possibly benzodiazepines, these are narcotics and are subject to strict controls with regard to prescribing and access. If one travels with narcotics, or ‘controlled drugs’ as they are known in the UK, then you must have these in a container, pharmacy labelled with the patients name. Failure to do this could mean that you are accused of narcotic smuggling. If the McCanns were in posession of narcotics, these would have to have been prescribed for them which is not impossible. However using these to sedate the children would be like using a sledge hammer to kill a fly when a newspaper would suffice.
As for overdosing Madeleine with sedatives, they are both doctors and will know the paediatric doses for medications off the top of their heads and overdose is highly unlikely. Gerry McCann even had his laptop with him and had he wanted to check a dose, he could have referred to the British National Formulary on line which lists, amongs other things, the dosage for age and weight of a child for every drug available in the UK.”

I’m sorry but we’re on different planes of intelligence here. Carry on writing your stuff and I’ll carry on writing mine. We don’t need to have any communication ok?
October 11th, 2007 at 10:06 pm
I totally agree with the overuse of “fuck off”….I just don’t understand the off fuck part because most fucking is on something, and without the “on” then you don’t have the “fuck” and then the fuck becomes something like a non-fuck …but then that makes no sense …so that’s okay because as the Chief Inspector Paulo Clouseau I am hot after only the things that fuck on other things and don’t care a twat about any fucking that is off.

Anyone who has read my posts in here know that’s not normal for me to use the f-word. But for Stig, who has repeatedly offended, I had enough with him. I apologised for using that language but don’t apologies to Stig - you deserve it.

Seems most of us agree. There are very little facts.
Let’s hope the police know more than we do…
October 11th, 2007 at 10:03 pm
Stevo, no, you are right, I dont’ have a theory, because I don’t have any FACTS. Neither do you! You just pick some random crap in the newspaper and pretend its true and build crazy theories out of it. I find it amusing that you say “you don’t have a theory” as an accusation against me, when in fact, I’m to be commended for not dreaming up wild and illogical theories based on absolutely nothing in particular.
I didn’t say the blood on the stairs thing has been proven false. I said it was printed in a newspaper that has openly admitted to printing a whole variety of falsehoods regarding this case. Yet you choose to call it truth. It’s no more true that Gerry’s haircut on the morning of May 4. The source is just as reliable.
October 11th, 2007 at 10:03 pm
So how are katiepoo and gerrykins, Phat Phil, Comical Clarrie, Beardie Branson and the unfeasible krissie?

I mean with Gerry’s Blog that what he says is true in that he has said it. I’m not saying the bloke doesn’t or can’t lie. If he says he put the kids to bed at 8:00pm I take that as read. He may be lying…or not. What we know is Gerry said it and we didn’t read it second or third hand.
Pint of bitter here please…

1073 - krissie
To wit: At the moment, Stevo here is totally obsessed with this “blood on the stairs” bit, making up completely illogical scenarios that make no sense to anyone except him.
I’m not obsessed with anything. I just wrote a plausible theory which of course is better than your theory because you don’t have one.
The blood on the stairs has not been published as false. Show us instead of mouthing off as per usual.

1032 - # Stevo Says:
I disagree. We know a lot of facts about the case. Gerry’s Blog is a great indicator for example.Edit…
Then there’s the photos and videos. Edit…
++++++++++++++
I’m just being a pedant…. Most of what we ‘know’ is from unofficial leaks and media speculation and innuendo. Gerry’s blog, leaving aside the pseudo psychoanalysis that many of us indulge ourselves in, is largely what Gerry wants people to believe and not verifiable truth. (OK, I believe he did have a haircut and go running etc…) And the pictures, well, that’s down to interpretation..
If you want my opinion… There is definitely something rotten in the state of Denmark. I just couldn’t prove what, why, when or by whom.. Other than that, I think it’s an open and shut case. Beer anyone?
October 11th, 2007 at 9:59 pm
Hope you dont think im a Brit,Krissie.
October 11th, 2007 at 9:58 pm
What is illogical, until in a medical or legal field, is generally most subjective. A lot of people “cherry-pick” what they believe in order to support their theories (I’ve seen it in both groups) .
I wouldn’t say it makes people nuts, as I see young people doing it in order to support the fact that someone must have feelings for them, etc.
In the end, this is just an internet forum, not a jury room or some scientific committee.

but in england a fanny pack is a ……..tampon……..isnt it?
October 11th, 2007 at 9:58 pm
But let’s talk about this service room. This makes sense- it could totally explain a lot, EITHER in an abduction, OR in a coverup by K and G of Madeleine’s death. So that is perhaps where she was taken. Interesting.
