But the raids were not directly connected with the Madeleine case. Operation Predator was six months in the planning

REPLY: Well, Scarlett could be playing a clever game of tease. Or he may have sufficient knowledge of the case to point us all in the right direction. Someone perhaps who cannot say more, but wants the truth to come out.
What does he say, in terms, taking his three posts so far together?
He says:
a) Look very carefully at the events of 3rd May
b) Disregard the Renault Scenic evidence, which is based around O’Brien’s use of the car when the McCanns went to the Pope at the end of May - he says all that is a ‘red herring’
c) Madeleine was, or is, buried in a grave.
Today he has added, in terms:
d) Something important happened on 13 May. That was a Sunday, 10 days after Madeleine’s disappearance, and the day following what would have been her 4th birthday
e) One of the priests is involved in some way in the case or has some knowledge.
All I can say is that I keep an open mind about exactly what happened on 3 May and what happened - and when - to Madeleine’s body. I don’t suddenly feel stimulated to go madly searching for what happened during 13 May, but if it crops up, I’ll look again at what happened.
I’d just add two things:
1. I consider that we are dealing here with two very clever and cunning people, viz. the McCanns, and very experienced and also cunning media advisers, PR people and lawyers. All trying every which way to throw us off the scent
2. As I have posted before, Roman Catholic priests are bound by the most solemn of oaths never to reveal what is said in the confessioanl booth. I said before and I’ll say it again, thereby they fail to do their duty to God and to man - by covering up crimes such as rape, theft, armed robbery, terrorism (look at the links between the IRA and the R.C. Church), and, yes, even manslaughter or murder. Despite what some posters have written tonight, I still consider it within the bounds of possibility that Kate (and maybe Gerry) have confessed something awful to the R.C. priest - and that he won’t tell - and is tormented by the cover-up he is participating in.
P.S. A friend died last weekend after a long battle against cancer and I’ll be travelling to a funeral in Wales tomorrow. Thereafter I’m away for a week, in southern Spain (around Seville - don’t know if Huelva is anywhere near). I’ve enjoyed the serious contributions to the debate about what happened to Madeliene McCann; perhaps will resume our exchanges again when I get back.

From what I have read on this forum there are quite a few childish, immature people posting, who have not yet realised the full seriousness of this situation. From what I have read and heard during the past five months Gerry and Kate McCann do not deserve all of this flack that they have been subjected to. Yes, they left their children whilst they went out for meals during the evening, but the Mark Warner resorts have a policy whereby children of the guests would eat between 5.30 and 6.30 and they would not be allowed to go into the restaurant during the evening. They operate a child minding service which consists of a member of their staff walking around each of the apartments where there were children, listening at the door, and if they heard sounds they would inform the reception who would tannoy the guest. The guest would then go to the reception and be told that their child was crying etc. This is why the McCanns decided to do the watching and listening themselves every half hour.
As far as all of the other idiotic accusations of the Portuguese police/media are concerned, it does not take a university student to realise that they are trying abismally to cover up the shoddy workmanship of the police from the beginning of this tragic case. Everything they did from the minute they were called, to this day has been a complete shambles. If it wasn’t so serious Hollywood would be able to do a remake of the Keystone Kops and earn a fortune. As for Amaral, he has been shown up for what he is, a big fat slob who has had an easy life until the McCanns had their daughter abducted. Hopefully he is now being supervised night and day, and perhaps justice will be done when he is brought to task for covering up the beating up of Joana’s mother.
I really hope that all of you that are calling the McCanns, and making childish, stupid remarks about them never have to face what they are facing at this moment in time. They have no need to be punished for leaving Madeleine alone on 3 May, every day they are punishing themselves and will do until the day they die. That to me is punishment enough.

As for using stronger sedatives, possibly benzodiazepines, these are narcotics
(no they aren’t)
and are subject to strict controls with regard to prescribing and access.
(no they aren’t, they are prescription only medicines, they are NOT covered by the dangerous drugs act, like the opiates, except codeine, and benzodiazepines are no different to prescribe than is pennicillin.)
If one travels with narcotics, or ‘controlled drugs’ as they are known in the UK, then you must have these in a container, pharmacy labelled with the patients name.
(yes thats right, and a doctor can prescribe for their family.)
and , apart from the ridiculous idea that someone would force travel tablets down a small baby, the antihistamine you are referring to is dimenhydrinate, or gravol, which is NOT available in the uk.

Hello, been catching up today’s discussion for a while.
It seems nobody has cracked the case, or those who have aren’t telling…
Madeleine is missing. 100%
Madeleine’s parents are guilty of just child neglect or less. 28%?
Madeleine’s parents are involved in their daughter’s disappearance. 72%?
If they were involved and are denying that, they are covering up. Repetition yes…
How about… we assume Kate had hard time controlling Madeleine that evening and finally totally lost it (as she was tired, or anxious to get the kids to bed and start adult fun) or gave her calmants; or both? Either parent lost it with her or miscalculated medication because too stoned and not thinking straightly? They or either of them instinctively wanted to hide the tragedy fearing for their reputation, careers, the remaining children…
An insider of the Tapas9 may help either or both of them cover up the tragedy, carrying the body to the next room or service room. Later, they put the body in cold for 3 weeks, then take it away in a car to bury it at a holy site.
Perhaps the mutual relations or interests of the Tapas9 was yet a sensitive issue to keep sercet.
Does any of this sound possible or consistent with the assumption there’s a cover-up? I don’t know…somebody refine the theory…of course you will…
I only became inclined to think the parents probably are hiding something at the time they were made suspects and because of the constant PJ leaks.
Previously, I had thought it was just odd how little effort they made to find Madeleine…
