I won’t argue with you there. Irish American patriotism is HUGE in the U.S. But on the otherhand, you stole their country from them in the first place.
Ireland was one country - the Brits do not belong in the NORTH. Ireland should be reunited - and the IRA, albeit they are terrorists - wanted it back. The Brits terrorized the Irish by taking it from them in the first place.

Spain is a beautiful country no doubt Ramon .I’ve been to the islands many times. Maybe you are right I dont know about the tough side of these places ,maybe Ive been lucky. Then again maybe I am realistic enough to know that every country has its downside . Hard work and optimism do play a part in determining how happy you wilbe wherever you are.I wasn’t born with a silver spoon but I learned to work hard ,live well and judge not from wonderful parents who had an even greater struggle. Anna, you are right! I love the Irish too!! Such a beautiful country and the people are even more beautiful. We LOVE the Irish over here as you know…my Father owned a company years ago in Killarney - and I spent some time one summer in Galway - what a blast I had there!! I can still smell the beautiful green air and the irish mist - my skin and hair were never so soft as when I lived in Ireland. The family I lived with wanted to adopt me - LOL - but my family wanted me back home….I still keep in touch with them. They visit here in the states when they come for a holiday.

Where I live the avg cost of a home today - no kidding -is $1.2 mm. So Ramon is just so off his rocker about America being poor.
There are many Americans living below the poverty level and without health care - most of them are illegal immigrants too. We know we have a big problem there. And it’s a big part of the upcoming Presidential campaign - but England also has big problems. We just don’t feel the need to highlight all of theirs……
Congrats on your economy - Ireland has never thrived more than it is today - what a wonderful thing - for a country that deserves it more than any other after all you’ve been through…..

I’ve never been to Ireland but currently live in the US and I am originally from Spain. It is my opinion that the US is a very impoverished country. Cost of living in the cities and surrounding areas is more expensive than Spain or Italy. The people have eno healthcare. no decent education system for either primary school or university level - many cannot afford to attend univeristy. It is in my opinion a very mediocre place and I will be happy to move back to Europe. And I am a bloke; a guy; a man.
I feel if you lived here an experienced the crime and how expensive it wil while offering very little in return you might feel differently. of course there are some wonderful people here - yes I agree. But I feel America’s days are numbered and she’s a nation quickly going down the loo.
A mediocre place with very little vision meaning their government) for the future other than war and other crimes against the world.

I joined this board with very different expectations - I had no idea that they felt so angry and jealous of us today. I’ve dated, and almost married two Brits in the past - and my very best friend is a native Londoner - I get along splendidly with Brits - but some on this forum are very difficult persoanlities - and when in Rome, act like the Romans. Behavior is contagious. And I find myself feeling more patriotic on this forum as an American than anywhere else in my life. Mostly because I’ve always been admired for being an All American Girl. But here, I am treated like a 3rd class citizen - and I won’t stand for it. My British friends say “dont’ take their shit on Anorak”…..so apparently, it’s been dished out to many others before me.
I will say things are getting better as the forum is so busy w/ posts that they have backed off of the censorship. And that’s improved things.
Pluse the storyline is getting really stagnant and stale……and new players come on board.

Right, sorta re-read everything. No, I wouldn’t say what Spudgun said was abuse, as I said, I don’t cry for those that seem to dish out somewhat personal attacks and then receive them in return; but I don’t agree with them. If anyone wants to report them, by all means….
I thought Spudgun was the one who talked about the Krissie/Mike thing, but it was Ramon? As for that, no, I don’t agree with it in anyway, but Krissie and Mike have joked about sexual stuff on here in the past, so I think this is an issue of trying to draw a physical line in the sand when the imaginary one has already been crossed. Also, it is a subjective thing, was Ramon making a tongue-in-cheek comment (this is a satirical site), even if was or wasn’t, it’s obviously offended some people. And I know, you can’t be tongue-in-cheek about sex, but I’ve seen comments that are tongue-in-cheek that deal with far worse issues on this website, I think the major faults here are addressing the people by name (making it a more personal) and not addressing if the comment was tongue-in-cheek or in response to the other sexual comments.
Hmm, and it wasn’t rape, I believe he did mean “doggy style” as he reference the two famous British police dogs (Eddie and Keela). The most I can see, is that it was a chauvinistic and rough sex comment, not rape (as he was going off of their implied relationship and clearly referencing doggy style). Just my opinion though (which sadly, was asked for). I’d prefer that sex and the whole british/american thing weren’t such a big part of most of the discussion here tonight, this night has to be near the top with both of those subjects coming up. Anyway, take it up with the moderators.
