Madeleine McCann: Ben Needham Is Missing, Operation Predator And Maddie’s Cops
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “McCanns warn: We’ll sue over claims we drugged our children”
Page 7: “Madeleine parents: We have never sedated our children” – The “slurs” are “outrageous” and “hurtful”.
The theory that they sedated all of their children is a “wild theory”. It appears in Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas, a source for “some of the more outlandish reporting”. The Express reproduces the outlandish reporting for its readers to digest and marvel at
“Grim hunt for images as child-porn ring is smashed” – Operation Predator is a clamp down on child porn in Portugal. A friend of the McCanns says: “This shows the scale of the problem in Portugal and appears to show that the Portuguese police seem to be looking in the right direction. It may provide vital leads”
But the raids were not directly connected with the Madeleine case. Operation Predator was six months in the planning
THE SUN front page: “Maddie: cop raid on pervs”
Page 7: “McCANNS’ DELIGHT AT PAEDO SWOOP” – Kate and Gerry McCann are “encouraged” that 300 Portuguese police “smashed” a 80-strong paedophile ring
“’FIND OUR KIDS TV’” – Kate and Gerry have backed a TV channel that features the 150,000 UK children that go missing each year. Pictures of missing children will be shown at GP surgeries, shopping malls and hospitals
Page 37: “MISSING BEN AGONY – We were too working class to get help like Maddie’s family” – The mother of Ben Needham, who disappeared 16 years ago on the Greek island of Kos – sees haves and have nots
“I was 19,” says Kerry Grist. “Just an ordinary girl from a council estate and people thought, ‘She will just go away in a few months, have another child and forget about it…I don’t think people thought Ben was important enough.” Or the media didn’t…
Kate McCann is a doctor. Gerry McCann is a heart specialist. Both Madeleine and Ben are blonde
DAILY MAIL page 5: “Huge porn swoop offers hope of a Maddie clue”
“Could Ben still be alive?” – Ben Needham disappeared from near his grandparents’ farm house
Says Mrs Grist, Ben’s mum: “Madeleine’s parents are middle class people with important jobs and seemed to have had a publicity machine behind them straight away”
DAILY MIRROR page 15: “WHY STAY IF SHE HAD SOMETHING TO HIDE?”
A pal of Kate McCann says: “She could not tear herself away [from Portugal]. What mother could leave the place where her daughter vanished? …If she had something to hide why would she hang around in Praia da Luz waiting for the police to come knocking on the door?”
We don’t know. Why?
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE POLICE ARREST 80 PAEDOS”
Madeleine McCann does not have her own police force – not yet. But the police working on one case are Portuguese, like the police in her case. It’s an “EXCLUSIVE”
Page 7: “MADDIE COPS RAID PAEDOS” – The Star sees Gerry McCann leaving his home in a car. “STRAIN” reads the caption
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 17: “Madeleine police turn spotlight back on paedophiles”
“Missing children TV hopes to jog patients’ memories” – Ben Needham is missing. Xiao Xiao is missing. Lee Thomas Wedge is missing. Leanna Petrenko is missing. Abigaile Sommerville is missing. Andrew Paul Gosden is missing
THE INDEPENDENT page 24: “Mother in plea to missing son” – Ben Needham is missing
THE TIMES page 11: “Madeleine police return to kidnap theory”
German and Dutch police are believed to have been asked to trace and interview guests staying at the Ocean Club when Madeleine went missing
THE GUARDIAN: No Madeleine news today

I don’t know what it means…you tolerate some prats in here for a time and you give them respect and then you realise they’re not worth an ounce of time. Stig is like that.

if you think about it
if the tests really do say the kids were drugged,
it shows gerry up for the lying bastard he is to the whole world.
(in my opinion)

Hey Stevo,
Not according to Webster’s Dictionary…

You have a point.
But what if the most straightforward explanation is that the parents are not involved at all?
Maybe MM left the apartment was run over by a car in the dark by mistake and the driver panicked and hid the body.

Thanks for that.
QUOTE
They were said to have been particularly interested in the small service area beneath the apartment.
Don’t read too much into it.
You know it’s quite amazing really isan’t it? That there is this secrecy law, yet here we are knowing what the PJ are looking for in the apartment!
And thats why I take everything I read (which aint a lot) about this case with a pinch of salt.

Language seems to be in the spotlight this evening, someone should tell Phil to jazz herself up!

No, there must be something very dark indeed behind this.
the drugs that’s all.

In Portugal if anyone tells me to take a flying leap or to off the fuck, I simply pull out my black bag and stick it on their head, that way they can’t tell how long the beating lasts or even it was by my whip, and I get to deny everything………
works for me!

You’re right. Huntley saw the girls go by that evening and one thing led to another-it was’nt planned.
His story in court was totally implausible but one juror accepted his version of events.
It would have been a piece of cake for the Mccanns to cover up a simple accident rather than hiding and disposing of a body/getting lots of people to lie etc.
No, there must be something very dark indeed behind this.

I hear Americans say “unbrella” instead of “umbrella”
Or…”eckspecially” instead of “especially”
Worse is “prolly” as in “I’ll prolly go there at the weekend”. Like I said, there’s a lot of illiteracy out there.
LOL - let me set u straight Stevo. Are you in West Virginia? That’s one of the poorest states in the nation - Trailer parks were invented there! What the hell are you doing in W.Va of all places to live? The bon-bon capital of the world….Yes, nature is beautiful but it ain’t a mecca for meeting the elite or the highly literate. That’s fer sure…
It’s the equivalent of your cockney lifestyle back in England. So let’s be sure we level the playing field here…
Now, what you are describing is a “lazy tongue” not illiteracy - and lazy tongues exist in every nook and cranny of my country and yours. Let me give you another example of how I sometimes resort to a lazy tongue….when I say “Hey, honey, what’s in the fridge tonight?” Fridge is slang for Refrigerator - cause I am a takin’ a short cut. Just like acronyms replace full words or sayings on the web, we abbreviate and even make what some English may call “Chop Suey” out of words….it’s about dialects, regionalisms….colloquialisms…etc. etc.
It’s not illiteracy - unless you’re talkin’ ’bout yer West Virginny buds in the ‘hood……
Remember Valley Girl talk in the ’80’s?? From the San Fernando Valley of CA.? That sort of started the whole trend - bringing it main stream….and now, we’re a country of short cuts, lazy tongues, immediate impulses and instant gratification. And there’s no getting off this merry go’round
So if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em and let it all hang out

She has stated that she was one of the earliest to give a formal statement to the PJ. Do you think she is going to give an interview with a newspaper that differs in significant detail from her earlier statement? She would have to be stark raving mad because if she doesn’t realise that she could likely be summoned back to Portugal as a witness at some point, she ought to.
She could be in a spot of bother if that happened and the discrepancies between her statements was brought up in a court.

did you see the comment at the bottom?
As a matter of fact, not a single one of the 80 suspects was really arrested…

Yes, I agree. There were too many people walking about every 10 minutes checking, no wait….every 30 minutes without checking in between….no….how long is 30 minutes again,….oh yes, an hour. Okay, gottcha!

The word I always argue with Americans over is “aluminum”. They mis-spell it because it was mis-spelled years ago. Even the scientific community knows it was ratified as “aluminium” but they continue to say “aluminum”.

If the service area is below the apartment it will be a basement which will give access for maintenance purposes to all the flats. What I’m saying is, is that its not a little ‘cubby hole’ where you could bury something and noone would go down there. And it would have to service all flats above as the floors are concrete as already explained.
It just wouldn’t be a place to conceal something in the hope it wouldn’t be found - believe me.
October 11th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
In order for MM to have died in her bed of an overdose and the parents decided to go to such lengths to cover it up…and
they would really have to be seriously ill.
If they really did this there would have to be some evidence somewhere of strange behavior before the holiday to Portugal.
Wouldn’t there?
October 11th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
Here’s the article in which I read about the service area :

The reason I don’t go with the other bizarre Madeleine theories is because 99% of the time things are a lot simpler than you first think. It’s a bit like the Kennedy Assassination or the Diana death. An American crackshot sniper with communist sympathies shot Kennedy and Diana wasn’t wearing her seatbelt. Duh!
Nobody has really come up with any consolidated theory so today I did one that works. Until the truth comes out or another theory comes along I’m sticking to mine.

Evening all.
American English is a language for illiterates. The North American standard dictionary contain appoximately 143,000 words compared to the Standard Oxford English Dictionary which contains over 500,000 words.
In addition many word copied from the Standard Oxford English Dictionary are actually spelt wrong in the The North American standard dictionary.
The perfect example is the word Colour which is spelt Color in America.

Columbo, I disagree. If you aren’t watching a child by the pool and the child falls in and dies, I think the legal system would be more likely to assign the parent with a murder charge.”
Ahh, I meant would NOT be likely. If you see, I am disagreeing with Columbo that all accidents=neglience, are murder. Sorry.
October 11th, 2007 at 9:11 pm
the McCanns would forgo proper medical care for their daughter in preference to not looking bad.
if they were drugged, it would be total ruin for all the tapas 9, not ‘looking bad’

Stig 941 did Miss pennington mention she was how do you say bladdered, and her services were dispensed with forth with, evidence must be clean and have no other motive other than truth.
