Do you get bored in here after a while and just decide to make deliberately inflammatory statements to see who you can rile?
There is a whole world of difference between a parent or carer who inadvertently loses contact with a child and those who deliberately decide to leave young children on their own for more than a few moments. Not to mention those who insist on repeating the process night after night, allegedly of course.

It is unlikely that the McCanns or any of the other couples left the apartments unlocked - the unlocked apartment is a contrivance after the event imo. Not a good one for an insurance claim admittedly.

Do you know, I think many of us (me too) had forgotton that the twins will grow up and find out about this. But perhaps they will have been indoctrinated by their parents and family and will believe that spin? I think thats most likely.
The problem is, of course, that the Mccanns will never be innocent in the eyes of many, sadly me included. Not guilty of something as dastardly as causing Maddies death perhaps, but guilty of exposing her to the cruellty of the world without a doubt.

1112 - Kris - You are in an apartment and wanting to go out to a bar that is at best 160 - 200 metres away. You cannot see the patio door which leads to a darkened alley and the street.
You could use a babysitting service or listening service but decide against it and having considered these facts you leave 3 children under the age of 4 in the apartment with the patio door unlocked.
How is that an error of judgement?
It is putting your desire before the safety of your children, and therefore neglect.
Where do you get “nannies in the hallway”, there was no hallway.

Hi, I guess that you already know what 24 horas said this morning: that Maddie had been in Murat’s house (police doesnot know if alive or death) but they have found evidences of that… It seems that Murat and the Mccanns were becoming friends during the <Mc holidays, and they ask him for help when Maddie died (24 Horas mentions PJ sources). I have read the same tonight in the … Express? Mail? … one of them

1142-stevo- In my 5-6 weeks of coming here regularly, I’ve never once seen anyone here accept everything the McCanns say as truth. Most of us here who argue for some sympathy for the couple also realize there are some discrepancies in the story , realize the parents made a really huge error. I’d dare say even that most of us believe the McCanns could be hiding something. I really do not know. I think the difference is that certain people look at this one bad decision the McCanns made — to leave their children alone — and extrapolate that people who do this could also murder their child. As if the mentalities are one and the same. I think this is unfair.
On the other hand, there are a dozen people at least on this forum who assume every word out of the Team McCanns mouth is conniving and false. This is foggy thinking, too, just like believing every word out of their mouths is true.

1138 - errr correction….Madeleine has paid the highest price due to the neglect of her parents!. I cannot understand how anyone can disagree with that. How the hell can child neglect deserve such support and celebrity status? There is hardly any evidence at all in this case that is fact, so we all have deduced our opinions from what we hear from the family, people close to the family etc. I tend not to make any judgements from what |i read in the press, they are notorious for elaborating and twisting stories to sell the papers. I simply cannot get my head around the fact some people want to support the mccanns, part with hard earned cash to fund their lifestyle and so on, when they seemingly do nothing to look for their daughter and constantly spin self pitying stories to us all. How can the supporters live with the fact they are condoning child neglect at the very least?

Lets get this out in the open. People who are defending the Mccanns - who surely have enough support - must have a motive.
Perhaps they behave the same way and therefore must support them.
Perhaps they want others to slacken their child care?
Perhaps they have contributed and feel silly?
Perhaps they find the Mccanns attractive?
Maybe they are relatives of the Mccans?
Maybe they are friends of the Mccanns?

I am amazed that everyone is still arguing about the pros and cons of leaving very young children by themselves. All of the couples showed an appalling lack of judgement. This is not a case of hindsight being a fine thing but a lack of recognition by health professionals about basic childcare guidelines of which KM at least should be very aware.
Again, remember that the McCanns first telephone calls back to relations and friends in the UK stressed a break in through the window and an exit through the front door - not the patio. This was how they wanted to portray the abduction until it was pointed out that there was no sign of forced entry. Then the unlocked patio door became the entrance for the would be abductor.
The calls back home are verbatim in the early reports of 4 and 5 May and are most likely to reflect what was initially the McCann story.

We have some facts, none of which support in any way the theory of abduction. Yet Gerry and Kate only want to discuss that theory.
Yet they checked thier kids so often that it was hardly worth being out in the first place. Except of course I think we all really know they didnt and we all really know there is something decidedly ‘fishy’ here. Even the blind followers who choose not defend the rights of children - instead, for their own secret purposes, support the idea of leaving 2 and three year olds in dangerously exposed circumstances. I wonder what their motives are?

The images are the same 4:3 ratio. It’s just that they’ve been heavily cropped by certain news sources. I checked this a week ago and wrote a piece in here on it. I suspect the images were at least 1600 x 1200 which is typical for a lot of digital cameras.

1124- To each his own, eh? Well, research increasingly shows all kinds of developmental problems for kids under 5 who watch ANY television. So if you haven’t considered all the facts just as I have considered them, then you clearly are guilty of damaging your own child’s brain if you make a decision that doesn’t suit the facts and risks as I see them.

Yes, but the property owners would be walking up and down that alley and the back where the car park is. This means there’d be those babysitters milling around as well as the Tapas Baby Monitor Crew. Makes it even less likely that she was abducted because you’d have those babysitters making their rounds as well.

Possibly nothing… but both photographs are in completely different formats/sizes? Many people seem to leave their cameras on one size setting and then just click away. i.e. They all come out 6”x4” (7”x5”) format or landscape, rarely mixed formats? Just wondered if the pictures had been cropped and if so by whom and why?
