Madeleine McCann: When Waiters Attack, Kate McCann Childcare Inc. And Feudal Powers
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – ‘McCANNS OR A FRIEND MUST BE TO BLAME’. Tapas bar waiter’s astonishing attack”
Jose Batista served the McCanns and party on that night Madeleine disappeared. “I did not think she had been taken by an abductor,” says he. “I told them [the police] it had to be one of the family or a friend. It had to be someone close”
Mr Batista is a “crucial eyewitness”
Page 4: “Nanny would have cost just £10” – Batista is standing with his “partner” Maria Fernandes, who also works at the Ocean Club complex. She does not speak. She smiles for the camera. Why is she there? They are holding hands. He says the Tapas 9 did check on their children regularly: “I know that because I often took food to the table and found one of them not there. I would take it back to the table to heat it up. But it was always the men who went to check never the women.” Apart from the time Kate McCann went to check. So not always the men. Jose thought that strange. Why?
Says he: “They left heir children alone. If I had been in that position I certainly wouldn’t have done that.” Maria smiles
“Kate may be a child carer after ruling out GP work” – But would she make living at it?
THE SUN front page: “MADDIE EXCLUSIVE: WHAT WAITERS SAW. Kate left kids alone 3 hours a night”
It’s Jose Baptista, not to be confused with the Express’s Jose Batista, even if this waiter does look very similar and is seen holding hands with his “wife”, also called Maria
Pages 4 and 5: “The men normally checked on kids..Kate only went that one night”
Kate and Gerry are “doctors”. Says Jose: “They left their children alone for up to three hours every night.” Apart from when they all went out as family, with the “cranky” children
Maria speaks: “I definitely remember Madeleine. She was like a little angel, very quiet and good as gold. Just a lovely little blonde girl.” Blonde, you say?
“CAREER PLANS STILL ON HOLD”
DAILY STAR page 7: “holiday waiter describes horror night girl vanished – MADDIE: ‘ONLY PARENTS OR PALS COULD HAVE DONE IT’” – Jose Batista says…
“Kate wants job in child care”
DAILY MAIL front page: “I want to work in child care says Maddie’s mother”
Page 7: “Kate McCann ‘wants a job in child welfare’” – So it is “claimed”. So she ahs “told friends”
“FRIENDS ‘SHARED EIGHT BOTTLES OF WINE A NIGHT’” – Says Jose Baptista. Yes, eight bottles between nine Britons. On holiday. In the sun. Indeed, is that all?
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 9: “Madeleine’s mother ‘to as GP for a child welfare job’”
“One possibility is that she will set up a charity to raise awareness of the extent of child abductions across Europe, and help parents and children who suffer such an ordeal”
Fernando Jose Pinto Montiero, Portugal’s attorney general, says the country’s Ministerio Publico, likened to the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service, is a “feudal power”

Scottie, I agree with you about Cuddle Cat, not the sensible thing to do….
I believe the seal of confessional still stands. I think the only thing that changed was that if a priest ever did break the seal of confessional, he won’t face automatic excommunication now, but the case will be looked at by an archdiocese or higher and decide upon his punishment and possibly clear it with the Vatican? As I said, I’m not sure…but that is what I believed had to happen and that it was still punishable.

And God spoke all these words, saying: ‘I am the LORD your God…
ONE: ‘You shall have no other gods before Me.’
TWO: ‘You shall not make for yourself a carved image–any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.’
THREE: ‘You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.’
FOUR: ‘Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.’
FIVE: ‘Honor your father and your mother.’
SIX: ‘You shall not murder.’
SEVEN: ‘You shall not commit adultery.’
EIGHT: ‘You shall not steal.’
NINE: ‘You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.’
TEN: ‘You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.’
The 7 deadly sins
1.1 Lust
1.2 Gluttony
1.3 Greed
1.4 Sloth
1.5 Wrath
1.6 Envy
1.7 Pride
So who broke what ?

Brandon Flours: “he will never tell
he will guide you to a reconcilliation
he will help you to do the right thing
you must pay your penance
he will forgive
eventually
you must first be sorry
redeem yourself
and do what is right”
Yes, so if the report is true and he felt deceived, this could come about in a few ways, including:
McCanns confess to an accident/murder and say they are going to come forth or something, they didn’t and he felt deceived.
McCanns confess to child neglect or something and say they are going to admit it and deal with any possible repercussions, they didn’t and he felt deceived.
The McCanns confessed to nothing of the sort but pleaded their innocence, he heard a confession from someone else involved which implicates him, and he felt deceived.
He is still upset about the keys and getting into trouble, he’s upset…
So, a range of things, if his report is true and if any confessionals took place.

The press have suggested that Kate has lost too much weight.
What do you think?
Goodnight everyone - keep smiling as happy thoughts are what is needed to bring about a peaceful end to this story!

Wanderer: sand and suntan oil!!!!!! Mmmmmm……I suppose that wouldn’t have looked so good on camera eh? If Maddie had been cuddling that toy on the night, and it suddenly appeared on a shelf…..could the abductor have picked it up and place it there? Would that not have possibly left some sort of DNA print even if he/she were wearing gloves, it’s amazing what technology can do! Think about it. I am a Catholic and I think I am right (there was a case some time ago that left a Priest in a very compromising position and the Vatican looked at the ruling….will do some research for you on it )

No a catholic can confess to a priest who acts asif he was God himself
he will never tell
he will guide you to a reconcilliation
he will help you to do the right thing
you must pay your penance
he will forgive
eventually
you must first be sorry
redeem yourself
and do what is right
the Mc Canns saw this as
appeal
campaign
defend
save yourselves
no wonder he felt decieved

Correction to my own post, I don’t think I read what Scottie was saying correctly.
“A point on the Catholic church, they abolished the stupid vow of complete silence regarding confession some time ago, certainly with regard to a murder!”
They didn’t abolish it, but do you mean that Rome would look at other options than excommunication of the priest in such a situation? I know that is possible, but the complete rules of silence in such a case aren’t just thrown out the window (if that is what you meant, as I said, I’m not entirely sure what you meant there, so sorry if I’m wrong).
October 24th, 2007 at 2:06 am
ask any parent, i doubt they would wash their missing child’s toy if it had the smell of their child, unless of course it held a clue as to their death you were responsible for

Scottie: ” so why choose the minute your child goes missing to do this?????”
They said it was due to the fact that Cuddle Cat had sand and suntan lotion on it.
“A point on the Catholic church, they abolished the stupid vow of complete silence regarding confession some time ago, certainly with regard to a murder!”
I don’t believe that is the case.

1369 Judith C
I would love to talk to you but I really need to sleep now. I do work, and, no, not for the McCanns!! I have ordered your book from Amazon. I have read several reviews which describe it as sensitive. I’ll be delighted to discuss it when I’ve read it which I will do as soon as it arrives, if you’re still visiting Anorak!
I HAVE taken a stand. People are innocent (in law) until proved guilty. Essential principle of a civilised society. Any one of us could need it at any time. Did you read about the bloke wrongly imprisoned for 16 years for rape? Faulty DNA evidence and more than one person “bearing false witness against their neighbour”.
If I say I think we need clear evidence, that’s not waffling or fence-sitting. I believe it with utmost passion, Judith. Some time ago I was close to a case, a colleague, involved in a prolonged court case. He won eventually but not before his life and that of his parents was destroyed. I saw what the police did. I saw what the press did. Unbearable and almost unbelievable. No integrity anywhere.
And if I am careful about pronouncing judgement on others, even when I believe I personally would have acted differently, that also comes from passionately held beliefs. Casting the first stone etc.
But I am far from a do-gooder. Those who commit crimes or do wrong should be punished. Once we know for sure, or as sure as this world ever allows us to know.
So I am angry too, when people make judgements based on half-truths, lies, speculation and inuendo. You MUST know that the media lie. You MUST know we don’t have the facts.
You do seem to me to get extremely angry if anyone disagrees with you. Even if the McCanns are eventually shown to be guilty of something more than leaving their children, I will still think it was right to wait for the evidence, a charge and conviction before passing any judgement myself. Not that it’s my place to do so anyway. I don’t know the facts and probably never will.
Sleep well! I look forward to the book arriving.

scottie i agree. taking a life is against all religion. thank you

“whitw is black… no, black is white. no, it’s grey. No white is grey. No, i mean white”
McCann… shut up. Life in prison. take him away
October 24th, 2007 at 1:56 am
Just one last thought….the cuddly toy….a child often becomes very attatched to something, whether it be a blanket/pillow/toy. Why was it washed??? Surely the police would have been able to extract some DNA from this, and any drugs, or violence etc may well have been deduced from their findings? Don’t you think that the parents actions were very very odd with regard to this? My sisters daughter had a blanket which was washed once or twice in it’s whole life and that was traumatic, so why choose the minute your child goes missing to do this?????
A point on the Catholic church, they abolished the stupid vow of complete silence regarding confession some time ago, certainly with regard to a murder!

1375 - brandonflowers - Clarence went quiet after Gerrys blog denied that he said they thought maddie was dead.
I imagine he is licking his wounds.
October 24th, 2007 at 1:54 am
1370 - Nope! That’s the McCann’s trying to come to terms with that possibility! Good night.
October 24th, 2007 at 1:52 am
Butterfly I can tell you for a fact that he was blasted for allowing them to have the keys to the church. I heard about that before it hit the newspapers - and there was an awful lot of sniggering at work by certain men of the cloth!
October 24th, 2007 at 1:52 am
well i assaulted a policeman when i was 16 and went to borstal. i pretended i was catholic because the govoner was, and got a cushy job. i rest my case
October 24th, 2007 at 1:51 am
1376- Andrew - OUCH!
October 24th, 2007 at 1:51 am
Wanderer - no he cannot. It is basically a vow of silence from confession.
Let’s think on this if they could speak I guess some of the top lot from the IRA, Mafia etc wouldn’t be on the lurk now! Anything you say in confession is in total confidence and that confidence cannot be broken even if a priest would have to go to prison for failing to break that confidence in a court of law!
I also guess that many churches would be an awful lot poorer (!!!!!!!!!!!)
October 24th, 2007 at 1:50 am
1372 - Andrew - I read that the priest felt decieved after he had a telling off by his boss (and I don’t mean God…lol)
Then he mentioned he was deceived about the IVF treatment and hinted that he was told off for giving them keys and that although he would help tham again if he had known what he knows now - he would not have got so close to them.
Unless this is one reporter gone into the usual lying mode - this suggests that IVF rally does make a Priest lose some comapssion for you if your kid goes missing???

Personally i think clarence mitchell has shot himself in the foot. If he is party to information which he “spins” to make it palatable, that is an offence under british law. aiding abeitting councelling and procuring, perverting the course of justice and other stuff which, because if my incredible alcohol consumption (no kids here) I cant think straight

Stephanie: “Andrew I am so sorry to tell you this but a priest does have a vow of silence on confession. He cannot at any time relate anything to anyone told to him during confession! He also ‘acts’ as God (I know please don’t go on at me about this) with penance and forgiveness of sins!
BTW I work for a Catholic church ………. !”
Couldn’t he seek advice (without using names) from someone higher than him in the church? We were discussing this a few days ago. I thought it was possible in that form, but I could be wrong, can you clear that up?
October 24th, 2007 at 1:44 am
for the record, my daughter was 2foot at birth!
October 24th, 2007 at 1:43 am
clarence has been a bit quiet
has kates mum taken over ?
has he deserted the sinking ship?
to read a theasuaurus?
October 24th, 2007 at 1:43 am
1368 - Andrew - I now live in a place where no-one knows their own neighbour - don’t know which is worse….lol
October 24th, 2007 at 1:41 am
As for the height of Maddie - she wasn’t 4 years old when taken - she was 3 years old.
And as mum I can vouch that some girls start the same year much taller than all the boys for some reason. but by the time they hit age 7 they all seem to be around the same height.
So you can’t really go on height- premature babies also start smaller then catch up - she was an IVF baby but was she also premature? This may have caused the other problems you spoke of
- realistically though - God makes wise choices and if you are infertile with a specific person it will be for a genetic reason usually. Going against God is like acting God yourself - which links us back to Narcissism and the Catholic Priest nicely!!!! lol
October 24th, 2007 at 1:40 am
I think so too brandon. for the priest to say hes deceived, that was a major moment. It’s saying the mc canns were wrong, and he was tricked… which if I’m not mistaken is the work of the devil!
October 24th, 2007 at 1:38 am
Andrew
I think hes done a scooby doo impression
of sorts
pointing and gesticulating in their direction
but an oath is an oath
a silent one
he indicated being “decieved” though
