Madeleine McCann: When Waiters Attack, Kate McCann Childcare Inc. And Feudal Powers
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – ‘McCANNS OR A FRIEND MUST BE TO BLAME’. Tapas bar waiter’s astonishing attack”
Jose Batista served the McCanns and party on that night Madeleine disappeared. “I did not think she had been taken by an abductor,” says he. “I told them [the police] it had to be one of the family or a friend. It had to be someone close”
Mr Batista is a “crucial eyewitness”
Page 4: “Nanny would have cost just £10” – Batista is standing with his “partner” Maria Fernandes, who also works at the Ocean Club complex. She does not speak. She smiles for the camera. Why is she there? They are holding hands. He says the Tapas 9 did check on their children regularly: “I know that because I often took food to the table and found one of them not there. I would take it back to the table to heat it up. But it was always the men who went to check never the women.” Apart from the time Kate McCann went to check. So not always the men. Jose thought that strange. Why?
Says he: “They left heir children alone. If I had been in that position I certainly wouldn’t have done that.” Maria smiles
“Kate may be a child carer after ruling out GP work” – But would she make living at it?
THE SUN front page: “MADDIE EXCLUSIVE: WHAT WAITERS SAW. Kate left kids alone 3 hours a night”
It’s Jose Baptista, not to be confused with the Express’s Jose Batista, even if this waiter does look very similar and is seen holding hands with his “wife”, also called Maria
Pages 4 and 5: “The men normally checked on kids..Kate only went that one night”
Kate and Gerry are “doctors”. Says Jose: “They left their children alone for up to three hours every night.” Apart from when they all went out as family, with the “cranky” children
Maria speaks: “I definitely remember Madeleine. She was like a little angel, very quiet and good as gold. Just a lovely little blonde girl.” Blonde, you say?
“CAREER PLANS STILL ON HOLD”
DAILY STAR page 7: “holiday waiter describes horror night girl vanished – MADDIE: ‘ONLY PARENTS OR PALS COULD HAVE DONE IT’” – Jose Batista says…
“Kate wants job in child care”
DAILY MAIL front page: “I want to work in child care says Maddie’s mother”
Page 7: “Kate McCann ‘wants a job in child welfare’” – So it is “claimed”. So she ahs “told friends”
“FRIENDS ‘SHARED EIGHT BOTTLES OF WINE A NIGHT’” – Says Jose Baptista. Yes, eight bottles between nine Britons. On holiday. In the sun. Indeed, is that all?
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 9: “Madeleine’s mother ‘to as GP for a child welfare job’”
“One possibility is that she will set up a charity to raise awareness of the extent of child abductions across Europe, and help parents and children who suffer such an ordeal”
Fernando Jose Pinto Montiero, Portugal’s attorney general, says the country’s Ministerio Publico, likened to the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service, is a “feudal power”
THE INDEPENDENT, THE GUARDIAN, THE TIMES and DAILY MIRROR: No Madeleine news today

Nah, nothing! Hoping for some instant gratification or enlightenment (or a tenner from the cross-eyed one) but no, nothing - not even a tingling in the big toes!

Susannah - welcome to the Third Way! You have also seen the light (not like this lunatics that post around here trying to find logical and rational explanations).
Of course the McCanns didn’t kill Madeleine. Of course they know who what happened.
We should be concentrating on why are they not saying all they know… and the answer is very ovbious.

Will,
LOL. Thats the spirit!

Greeting all,
I have been withdrawing from commenting for a while simply because I had nothing to say that had not been said.
But right now I have just had an ah ha moment. Of course it is not the truth but something simply sighed out and went that is it.
I hope it is wrong.
The couple in question did not kill their child.
But she was being abused by outsiders.
An arrangement had been made for this to happen.
It was going to be over by 10hoo, when it was the mothers turn to check the children.
She found her child gone.
She ran out screaming “they have taken her, they have taken her” because she knew who they were and that she was gone.
Yet to admit or confess this to the police would be worse than murderous rage. The only person you could confess it to would be a priest.
Anyway must go and water the seeds.
Get away from this all.

Rosemary - they most certainly know that we know they know we know. And they also know the PJ know what they know we know.
Welcome to the Third Way!!! Suddenly things start making a lot more sense.

It was a neat trick to get them to make an appeal to the abductor, because, as you say that is one thing one can’t fake.
Do you think they know we know they know we know.

Cool it Will, the reason most people are up in arms about K & G is because of some of the jaw-dropping stuff they have done e.g. happily jogging and discussing the weather on his blog, things that most normal parents of a missing child would be totally unable to think about, let alone actually do. As for getting out thre and looking for Madeleine, how come they haven’t done that themselves instead of tripping gaily round the world and visiting the Pope ? I would be out there tearing up the stones and grass and looking for my baby………….

The McCanns are involved in some promiscuous relationship with some of the tapas 9 - and maybe Murat. It all went very wrong one night and something has caused Madeleine’s death.
I believe whichever the nature of this relationship it is probably illicit. Madeleine’s death may not have been caused directly by the McCanns, but they have condoned and took part in illicit practices that have possibly led to the death of their daughter.
It’s ugly, sinister and far-fetched. But then again - it’s as sound a theory as any other i’ve seen around here. Join the Third Way - the McCanns didn’t kill her and the PJ are not incompetently overlooking the abduction theory.

Sorry, I don’t get it (I’m trying … honest… must be a bit thick) …
Are you saying if you allow someone to do something “despicable, dangerous and unconventional” to your daughter, but you didn’t do it yourself (although I assuming you do it to someone else’s kids), and then you cover it up in this grandiose way, you’re not technically “guilty” because you didn’t do the physical act yourself?
October 23rd, 2007 at 3:58 pm
472 The Third Way The swinging theory doesn’t make sense when you consider that they brought not only the children, also the mother of one of the party was included…

Exactly !! it’s a bit like leaving your wallet and mobile on the seat of an unlocked car. Three kiddies, unlocked room out of line of sight, 50 + yards away, foreign country etc etc those are the facts. I don’t think they killed her, I think she was taken by someone working at the Warner site who had observed the comings and (not ) goings of the Tapas 9, knew the family, knew where they were staying and just bided his/her time. The final outcome is only going to be tragic

WHY DON’T YOU SAD AND WICKED PEOPLE GET JOBS AND LEAVE POOR GERRY AND KATE ALONE. THEY COULDN’T HAVE HURT MADDELINE, THEY ARE BOTH DOCTORS AND DEVOUT THEIR LIVES TO SAVING LIFES NOT DESTROYING THEM. NOT ONLY THAT THEY ARE BOTH DEVOUT CATHOLICS SO THEY WOULDN’T COMMIT SIN AS GOD WOULD PUNISH THEM.
YOU PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK, LET THEM GET ON WITH THEIR LIVES. THEIR CHILD WAS ABDUCTED, PROBABLY BY THE RUSSIAN MAFIA AND ALL YOU CAN DO IS ATTACK THEM. HOW ABOUT YOU GET OUT THERE AND LOOK FOR MADDALINE.
October 23rd, 2007 at 3:53 pm
The questions they refused to answer are in the past, the questions that they refuse to answer in the future, will be the downfall of the suspects.I refer you to post 23 and in particular the last sentence, for apprehending the guilty is in the future, what what,no 20-20 hindsight here dear boys and girls, know what I mean ‘arry.
October 23rd, 2007 at 3:53 pm
K&G made this tragedy themselves!! None of this had to happen..If she got abducted, it was because they were obviously irresponsible..If they killed her, Well…that’s a whole different topic!! I’m really starting to think she got abducted, but I still feel they are RESPONSIBLE for that happening!!!!! There is no excuse for what they have made this to be.
October 23rd, 2007 at 3:50 pm
Anonymous the 1st - ok - i agree that there are still some rough hedges around the third way theory. But bear with me.
You said “If it was in any way sinister (murder/abuse) the parents should (if they are people worthy of respect) have gone to the police irrespective of social consequences. As they did not, and given how they have reacted in front of the media, they at the very least accessories to murder…. i.e. involved/guilty. ”
Unless, their practices (of the McCanns) were at least as depicable, dangerous and unconventional as the practices that involved the McCanns friends in Madeleine’s death. That would constitute an overwhelming deterrent preventing the McCanns from coming out and explaining to the PJ what really happened that night and possibly leading to the arrest of one of their close friends.
October 23rd, 2007 at 3:50 pm
And about this unlocked room thing and leaving the kids in there. You wouldn’t leave your wallet in an unlocked room, would you? Let alone a child.

Anyone find it strange that Cuddle Cat is not so much a toy but rather a neck support pillow you can put in the microwave or freezer?
Maybe Cuddle Cat is not Madeleine’s favourite toy but the McKillers bought it for the trip to the airport and for in the airplane.
It might be telling Madeleine has not been seen before with it and she did not name it.
Just the brand name Cuddle Cat and not Pinky or something.

Part 2
Responses
(1) - Lie No 1 Leaving them alone in an apartment with an unlocked door in a foreign country is taking a risk.
(2) – I make a note to rewrite the law on criminal responsibility.
(3) - Lie No 2 No one broke in the door was unlocked.
(4) - WHAT could have happened under other circumstances?
(5) - Woo Hoo a confession. She admits they made a mistake. Why then have they repeatedly said their actions were akin to being in their garden with the children in bed.
(6) - Except child neglect and child abandonment.
(7) - Except the decision to actual do something constructive to fine Madeleine. No one has made that decision to date.
(8) - They why go!
(9) - Except where spending money is involved hence the fact that the charity set up was not expanded to include other children.
(10) - What would that be? I have seen no evidence of them doing anything that could remotely resemble pro active action to find Madeleine.
(11) - Neither of them seem to have a problem sitting around doing nothing now that they are suspects.
(12) - Wow a brain cell woke up.

Part 1
The Ice Maiden gave an interview just before the 100th day without the control Freak She claims the following:-
(1) - There is no way on this planet I would take a risk, no matter how small, with my children.
(2) - I do say to myself ‘why did I think it was safe?’ But it did feel safe and so right. I love her and I’m a totally responsible parent and that’s the only thing that keeps me going. I have no doubt about that.
(3) - You don’t expect a predator to break in and take your daughter out the bed.
(4) - It could have happened under other circumstances and there would still be the regret.
(5) - That night runs over and over in my mind, and I’m sure people will learn from our mistake, if you want to call it that.
(6) - But it is important not to lose sight of the fact we haven’t committed a crime.
(7) - Gerry’s way of coping is to keep busy and focused. He needs to feel like he’s doing something. He’s a very optimistic, positive person. I’m not always. With a lot of the campaign stuff, he has done the talking. Sometimes I want to speak, but I just can’t. It’s not natural for me. Gerry’s used to having to speak at conferences and it’s harder for me. But I’m equally involved. Every decision is mutual.
(8) - When Gerry went to Washington,……It wasn’t about Madeleine in particular.
(9) - There are so many missing children out there, abducted children and sexually exploited children. Once you know all that you can’t turn a blind eye to it. Madeleine is our priority, but we have to help. We can’t just ignore those other children.
(10) - We’re just doing what we feel is the best thing for Madeleine.
(11) - Some people say the publicity will be harmful, that she’ll be hidden away because of it. But what can you do, just sit and do nothing? It’s difficult. It’s awkward.
(12) - But it’s not about me, it’s not about Gerry, it’s about Madeleine.
October 23rd, 2007 at 3:48 pm
I believe if your kid has been snatched and the police call you in to find out what has happened that night, would you sit there tight-lipped and refuse to answer whatever they want to know? And I don’t think the police should ask unreasonable questions, why would they want to do that?
