Unless it is a specific character toy like a Disney character for instance, my kids had their own names for generic cuddly toys.
And, there isn’t a single photo out there of Madeleine with her favourite toy - Cuddle Cat.

Ian your reply to Maria742 is nasty and unacceptable. It is also puzzeling to me. You see ,correct me if I’m wrong but were you yourself not very much on Kate’s side after that interview? What happened since?
Anyway this site needs debate to make it interesting and worth visiting . This won’t happen if those who disagree with the usual bloggers are simply insulted.

If the Mc’s are left alone to go on with their merry little lives, eventually everyone will forget that there is a little lost girl called Madeleine who was let down by them. They are the direct and the indirect cause of her no longer being around.
Madeleine needs justice, and as she can no longer speak for herself, she needs someone or many-ones to speak for her. Her parents little “oooops” at leaving their children alone cannot be allowed to be overlooked.
So Sylvi, if you think we are throwing stones, you obviously care VERY little about a little lost child who had nothing with which to defend herself. Perhaps you should go air your views on the “Find Madeleine” site ….. if they are positive thoughts towards the McCann’s, you can be guaranteed that they will be put onto the site!
So you go for it Sylvi, we care for Madeleine, and we will continue to air our views for as long as necessary!

On the surface, it seems that the only connection the PJ could make to KM being the main suspect is because she said she found her daughter gone.
But I wonder if they were indeed tapping calls and something else triggered theirs suspicions? It seems too basic to deduce that she is suspect #1 because she alerted everyone.

why would a stranger abducting a child do this ?
the toy would be the last thing on that persons mind - in fact getting out as quickly as possible would be the only thing on a strangers mind
however it is the act of a parent in a hurry cleaning a childs room
think about it
a stranger would be in and out asap so if the child drops her toy why waste valuable time and the chance of being cought and the toy is nothing to you so you have the child and you run
only a parent would pick up the toy subconciously and put it safe and that same parent never let go of that toy for months . kate was never without it

What was the deal with Murat and the car hire company where Maria Rocio worked. A story ran that Murat needed to hire a car at very short notice for 3 days. This lady said Murat was very anxious and insistent about it. Did anything happen with this story?

The simple version is that Murat went to visit his sister. But because he appears to have gone there on the day before Exeter residents, James Gorrod and Russel O’Brien set off for a holiday in the village in Portugal that Murat lived with his mother was something the police appear to have been investigating. According to the Daily Mail, Gorrod and O’Brien live within two streets of each other, and the suggestion is that they are known to each other.
It should be pointed out that these stories come from the pre-September period in which stories of this nature were not automatically dismissed as ludicrous smears. Indeed it was the period in which Gerry McCann was pushing his wider agenda, and Team McCann appeared less than obsessed with what was being written about them.

797 - Agree with you completely on the matter of why Kate should not have gone along with Gerry… IF that is what happened. If Kate was the one who was there when Madeleine died, I’d say your scenario is extremely likely, from what I have seen of the pair of them (Gerry does make my skin crawl). But I am still not convinced Kate was the one present when Madeleine died.

Slyfox - no, Brian just posts anything anyone sends him, so there is loads and loads and loads of crap (Tarot readings, etc). But if you go to Brians Dreams, 1. click Missing Persons, 2. Click Page 2, and 3. about halfway down (they are listed by date ., Madeleine is May 3), and then 4. there are now 16 pages of postings. Click on page 11. I think page 11 is where this discussion was taking place (I posted a link to the page a couple weeks ago).
I think Brian has some interesting insight. I don’t necessarily think he is accurate, but he knows a lot more about the case than some random psychic guy looking for publicity — he has read a lot, and indicates he’s had very specific contact with with people in the case. He names names.
But I don’t know. I’m a fence-sitter.

I certainly did NOT defend it. Read my post again.
Just because I attempt some balance and truth in what I say does NOT mean I defend the indefensible. I know very well that just because alot of people do something, that does not make it responsible or sensible. I think you maybe swing too much the other way in wanting them prosecuted but I do understand that you have very strong feelings about childcare and I respect that.
However, doing what they did does not make them child-killers either.
