Madeleine McCann: When Waiters Attack, Kate McCann Childcare Inc. And Feudal Powers
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – ‘McCANNS OR A FRIEND MUST BE TO BLAME’. Tapas bar waiter’s astonishing attack”
Jose Batista served the McCanns and party on that night Madeleine disappeared. “I did not think she had been taken by an abductor,” says he. “I told them [the police] it had to be one of the family or a friend. It had to be someone close”
Mr Batista is a “crucial eyewitness”
Page 4: “Nanny would have cost just £10” – Batista is standing with his “partner” Maria Fernandes, who also works at the Ocean Club complex. She does not speak. She smiles for the camera. Why is she there? They are holding hands. He says the Tapas 9 did check on their children regularly: “I know that because I often took food to the table and found one of them not there. I would take it back to the table to heat it up. But it was always the men who went to check never the women.” Apart from the time Kate McCann went to check. So not always the men. Jose thought that strange. Why?
Says he: “They left heir children alone. If I had been in that position I certainly wouldn’t have done that.” Maria smiles
“Kate may be a child carer after ruling out GP work” – But would she make living at it?
THE SUN front page: “MADDIE EXCLUSIVE: WHAT WAITERS SAW. Kate left kids alone 3 hours a night”
It’s Jose Baptista, not to be confused with the Express’s Jose Batista, even if this waiter does look very similar and is seen holding hands with his “wife”, also called Maria
Pages 4 and 5: “The men normally checked on kids..Kate only went that one night”
Kate and Gerry are “doctors”. Says Jose: “They left their children alone for up to three hours every night.” Apart from when they all went out as family, with the “cranky” children
Maria speaks: “I definitely remember Madeleine. She was like a little angel, very quiet and good as gold. Just a lovely little blonde girl.” Blonde, you say?
“CAREER PLANS STILL ON HOLD”
DAILY STAR page 7: “holiday waiter describes horror night girl vanished – MADDIE: ‘ONLY PARENTS OR PALS COULD HAVE DONE IT’” – Jose Batista says…
“Kate wants job in child care”
DAILY MAIL front page: “I want to work in child care says Maddie’s mother”
Page 7: “Kate McCann ‘wants a job in child welfare’” – So it is “claimed”. So she ahs “told friends”
“FRIENDS ‘SHARED EIGHT BOTTLES OF WINE A NIGHT’” – Says Jose Baptista. Yes, eight bottles between nine Britons. On holiday. In the sun. Indeed, is that all?
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 9: “Madeleine’s mother ‘to as GP for a child welfare job’”
“One possibility is that she will set up a charity to raise awareness of the extent of child abductions across Europe, and help parents and children who suffer such an ordeal”
Fernando Jose Pinto Montiero, Portugal’s attorney general, says the country’s Ministerio Publico, likened to the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service, is a “feudal power”
THE INDEPENDENT, THE GUARDIAN, THE TIMES and DAILY MIRROR: No Madeleine news today

IMO Kate is the one who is hiding more than Gerry. There is a saying in my country that says “stille waters, diepe grond” ….. this directly translates to “quiet waters, deeper ground”. Kate is the one that seems so frail now, on the point of a breakdown ….. I am most certainly NOT fooled!

882- Stevo- I first read it from a guy on this forum, but it’s been fairly commonly proposed around the Internet. Apparently Madeleine’s Colomba eye is a common CHARGE syndrome attribute (along with smallness, flat face, behavioral/mental issues, etc). SO far as I can see, Madeleine had none except the eye, and someone else came on a few weeks later saying Madeleine’s eye is actually something else, she has mixed pigment as well as the “hole”… can’t remember the terminology. But it was either genetic, or caused by some kind of injury. He was suggesting Madeleine was abused and had been injured, causing her funny eye.

I think it’s clear to most people. But why does it take so long to give the results of DNA tests? And finally the tapas 7 are being re-interviewed. I just wonder how long it will take to let the public know what they actually said.

869- sadgit, I hate to say, I thought the exact same thing. BUT, I’m sure that’s not true- in fact, I doubt this waiter’s tale- remember the last waiter who swore up and down he saw Gerry and Madeleine dancing on the beach that night? I think the event is too long past for anyone to remember accurately, or with any reliability. I’d say the only true thing the waiter has to say is that the night was “madness.”

Did you look at the picture yet?

I have no idea where the inference of CHARGE Syndrome in connection to Madeleine came from. Anyone have any ideas? Who originally came up with that?

“Portuguese chief of police has stated he knows who killed Madeleine and he has a good idea of what happend”
I think you are overstating that. here is what he is reported to have said recently:
“”In every investigation there is a key moment, a click that clarifies everything and helps you to reach the end. We just haven’t reached that key moment yet.” Asked about former lead detective Goncalo Amaral’s belief Madeleine died the night she disappeared on May 3, he told the paper: “There is indeed a theory that has gained some truth and is stronger than the others, but we’re not excluding anything.”

Think it could be a mistake to think that Kate is weaker than Gerry. She is a working class girl who worked herself up the ladder to be a doctor. I think she may be playing the weak card. It’s so easy for women to get away with.

Especially if the McCanns had been there several times and watched the landfill get bigger and bigger until they eventually thought nobody would find anything…

My daughter’s favorite toy is a one-eyed white stuffed kitty (the other eye has been sewed on, then lost again) and the kitty’s name is “Kitty kitty” and I don’t have a SINGLE photo of her with this kitty. In addition, she is Madeleine’s age almost exactly (she turned 4 in early June) and she was, so far as I can tell translating to American measurements, the exact same size as Madeleine. No Charge syndrome, and the doc says she’s JUST FINE thanks. Her father and I are both hobbit-ish, unfortunately.

Imagine the holiday brochures….
“sunny beach, great amenities, excellent food…and waste dump a stone’s throw from your apartment”
It’s ludicrous isn’t it? Did I read you right in that you thought they may have gone there to make sure she was buried properly? Sounds interesting…

Pink Panther865 ,exactly my sentiments . Well said
October 23rd, 2007 at 8:04 pm
However Pink Panther (865) I’m sure the only place that Madeleine would want to have been right now is back at her home with her parents. BUT her parents created the circumstances for this probably never to happen again!
I feel no sympathy for them, I just simply cannot, they were adults, meant to be responsible adults, yet they did deliberate things that left their children at risk (more than once) …. they deserve to be prosecuted for at least allowing the circumstances udner which Madeleine was misplaced (wether by their own hand - or another - which is a farce I do not believe).
Whichever way you look at it , the McCann parents are the direct reason this little girl disappeared, and they should NOT be allowed to get away from it. And I don’t buy all the cr*p that they’re suffering enough already ….. absolute hogwash!
Regret comes too late in many situations, but they cannot be allowed to get away with it! Which unfortunately, to me, the longer it goes on, seems the likely scenario.

I know but if Madeleine had gotten on Kate’s nerves all day and pushed her mother over the edge by doing something naughty, what might that have resulted in? Also, I think there’s the possibility that K and M could have had an argument in the day. Who knows? I just know that a spark will ignite a tinderbox and you never know what will happen.

Stevo 859 my niece and nephew did exactly the same thing LOL ! They didn’t have any syndrom it was called opportunity and mischief. OK they were a bit younger but be fair! Shock, anger maybe but for most people laughter soon follows and it makes a great story for the pub/ watercooler! It’s called childhood and if you think that’s bad try teenagers ! But we survive we laugh and we have a laugh. It’s what its all about.

The Tapas bar waiter said:- “They checked on their children regularly: “I know that because I often took food to the table and found one of them not there. I would take it back to the table to heat it up. But it was always the men who went to check never the women.”
I had a horrid thought:- Were they taking it in turns to carry out abuse?
Somebody, please, come up with an explaination why this is impossible.

I think the power of suggestion is immense and it’s possible to believe anything. Like you say though, we can agree to disagree.
I just find it crazy that an adult would hide on the climbing frame with 5 other adults and 3 kids in close proximity while he/she is a guest at Ocean Club.

I have read Nostradamus (well, bits of it anyway ;)), and it’s fiction IMO.
This is NOT fiction. We have a lot more resources than way back then.
This site is one of those newly discovered recources, and I’m glad I found it.

Many people will do their share to help honor Madeleine, I am sure, and probably across the world too, and also for the nameless children that are not so fortunate as to have their names remembered.
No one will Miss Madeleine more than her parents, brothers and sisters, friends and relatives. No will will miss her like those who shared her breakfast regardless of what your personal sentiments are about her parents. (I believe her parents did not hurt Madeleine, nor did they dispose of her body.)
She is not our child. We can have a “romantic” attraction for her plight, but we have never held her hand or kissed her cheek. And the point is, that crucifying her parents on this blog based upon half-truths and trumped up news articles is not helpful and in no way helps preserve Madeleine’s memory. If anything, it makes a mockery of the time she shared and her life with her family - the only life she knew.

I think we’ll just have to agree to disagree. As far as I’m concerned the shoulder to elbow, to shirt cuff, to wrist, and hand outline is clear. Though he could actually be using a mobile phone.

Anyone read what Nostradamus has to say about it all? Very scary.

Right…I agree with you. I haven’t said anyone has it either. How can I “know”?
On the behavioural front, an autistic child can be extremely demanding. I lived next door to a family who had a son aged 8 with autism. He took it on himself one day to decorate the house the week after his parents had decorated. He took a 4 inch emulsion brush and daubed paint everywhere…on the sofa, the carpet, the walls.
What’s wrong in saying that a child with behavioural problems might be so difficult that it pushes you over the edge?
Talking of which…that is EXACTLY what happened to WWE wrestler Chris Benoit earlier this year. His son had Fragile X. I know what I’m talking about:

Oh dear! You snapped!
Well, lets see now, I used to own a ZX81 so maybe that gives you a clue?”
I think you are trying to start a pissing contest - you lose.
By the way, you never commented on the photo I posted several days ago where I had removed an element, as you requested.
