No, I was just wondering if Madeleine had come to some harm earlier in the week and was there any way that one of the other children could have put in ‘appearances’ and been mistaken by others for Madeleine. These ‘others’ wouldn’t have known her very well at that stage?

Maybe Maddie didn’t die in the apartment. She was taken to another location, alive but ill and later died.
Although, I would think that doctors would just take their child to the hospital and try to save her, not put her someplace else to sleep off “drugs”.

1026 Yes, maybe she was never put to bed. And K being the perfectionist, made the made and set the toy on the shelf. Although, I would have tucked the toy in under the covers with the cat’s head on the pillow, but that’s me.
Still, the room wasn’t set up like a staged kidnapping. That was my point. How could someone overlook staging it?

When you put all the clues together it makes me wonder if we’re all on some new style of reality TV show and the contestants are us amateur sleuths, the McCanns are poor actors, Branson has already signed the rights to it and Madeleine will come back after being well looked after by TV bosses.
Everything about this case is so bizarre you can’t rule anything out.

If the Mc’s are true narcissists, then they would also think themselves so special as to be above the law and owing no explanations of their actions. It’s the smug self-satisfied look and approach, I suppose, that tells us so much.
I did enjoy the Pat Brown comment early this am on the other blog of yesterday where she said what to look for is a change in habits….not the keeping up of the same old ones. I don’t know how true this is, because when my mom died, I grieved and didn’t do lots of things for awhile, I even stopped going to the gym and swimming for a couple of weeks, and I certainly didn’t kill my mom. She died of cancer 5 years ago.

Of course the hotline could be a useful tool for supplying the whereabouts of the diasppeared child when the need arises. Timing is so important.

another possibility in the case is that the bed was made and cuddle cat was on the shelf because she was not put to bed, and since on one went into look till later she could have been gone for hours. Maybe Kate left Gerry or one of the friends to put her to bed. As far as I can deduce kate did not go back to the room until ten when she realised she wasn’t in bed.

I wondered about the biblical reference of “no stone unturned”. There was a book written by a man whose name I can’t remember called “Who Turned the Stone” (think he was called Frank something). He had become converted to Christianity basically because there was no other explanation of the stone being rolled away. I guess it was more complex but I can’t remember the details.
I suppose, though, that “no stone unturned” is a common enough phrase, although ironic when you think of the amount of looking they have(n’t) done.

P.S. The fact that the mcCann’s still ask people to keep looking for Madeleine and report their hints however vague will contribute to the story going on as news and leads keep emerging. And should they be hiding a crime themselves, that would just be suitable providing a smoke screen and distracting the police investigation.

Whatever excuses the McConns dredge up (they’re framing us!, K is too weak, G has an appointment with the barber etc) the dear friends have none.
They are not arguidoes. They surely like the rest of the world want to do all that they can to help find Madeleine. So on what grounds would they not return??? Will be very interesting to see what happens.
Will Mr. Pinochet lawyer also represent them? And if so, who will foot their bill? Branson Beardie would look even more of a plonker if he did - because he would be seen as blocking finding the truth.
Have seen the code in practice. V. effective and slick.

No, not THE Magdalene…but the theory heads in this direction.
Remember that the French satanists and witches had exceedingly close ties with the Catholic Church. They celebrated masses in reverse, and at the same time were very overtly pious. There’s a famous case called, “The Affair of the Poisons.” It connects witchcraft with infant/child sacrifice, and it was a real legal case and court scandal in France. I would write more, but have to dash off to work.

yep, sounds right. I know a neighbor of mine, her children woke up early and helped themselves to aspirin, had to get a chair, and they reached the top shelf way up high and got the precious hidden pills.
So, I can imagine a child getting into her parents stash….this is no and think I’ll have a little taste of it…..sounds right.
Maybe it was ecstasy or cocaine or something like that.

All I can think of to tie them in is drugs.
Murat may not even be a supplier/dealer. Perhaps as a local he just knows someone who knows someone who can get them locally. If Madeleine accidentally got hold of the illicit drugs and had them in her system, this could be why a cover up became necessary…and possibly implicated Murat but not as a direct party to it.
Drugs seems possible. Sexual abuse seems less likely because abused kids will have had a pattern of it requiring cover-up all the time. Drugs are something you could keep from toddlers without their knowing unless Madeleine wandered around the room and got hold of them somehow. I don’t think recreational drugs is a far fetched scenario.

993. Good point. What I consider unthinkable, they might consider the only option. What really bothers me is the way K. acts, or doesn’t act, as the case may be. I checked the Pat Brown site today and her blog and Pat wonders if K. thinks Maddie is still alive, why doesn’t she plead for her daughters return.
I would plead for someone to return my beloved dog or at least please feed him and let him sleep with a blanket etc. and then call them dirty rats for keeping him from me…..
So, the more I hear, the more I am thinking there’s no way around it, the parents may be knee deep in a pile of pooh here. But, I try to keep an open mind and hope the truth will surprise me. I like to be surprised.

We both know that a lot–almost all–of the answers depend upon the DNA. Next time the McCanns venture out to eat, someone should try to get some. It will be in their saliva, on glasses and forks….
But it seems that now, they only dine at home, or at the homes of friends.
Isn’t that interesting?
As to the Maury Povitch show, I understand completely! If the McCanns went, we could just let the out-of-control crowd wrest them to the stage floor, and swab their inside cheeks for samples. Come back next week, and we’ll have some answers….
