Just looking at the demeanor of the PJ at this time, through recent quotes from the PJ Director:
“The only idea that I can transmit is that, whatever the meaning of what happened that night, it was a dramatic situation for those who experienced it.” [my comment, doesn't sound like something that you'd say about a serial predator].
“We have an idea of what happened. I do not guarantee this, but I feel this will be the case.”
“There are scarcely [any] precedents of child abductions in Portugal and police literature does not take into account abductions from closed buildings because predators act in open areas.”
My comment: They certainly do not appear to be looking for an active child predator loose on the streets, but working through the branches of an already strong theory.

Should be interesting. I wonder why after all this time and all that money they couldnt previously map out the timeline - its all ludicrous nonsense - a time line really doesnt have too much leeway to be a language issue now does it.

I do not beleive for one second that Jane Tanner thought it was Madeleine- if she saw someone at all. If I was passing a friend’s apartment and saw somone carrying a child that even slightly resembled my friend’s child (in said pyjamas) then I would raise the alarm at the time.

A friend close to the familly has said that the girl being carried by the man in brown was heard to say “this has been the best holiday ever, thanks mummy and daddy”.

Tanner is stating that she saw a side view of the man and child while returning to the bar. The question that is crucial is where exactly did she see him? This does not appear to have ever been fully explored by reporters.
The validity of the original witness statements is also being questioned in the article - Lost in Translation appears to be the latest Tapas 9 reason for inconsistencies.

Ian, I don’t think this is being drawn to fit the scenario at all or released for that. This image, of a mystery man walking away with a poor little girl, is going to spark emotions in people. Just strolling off with someone else’s child. After 6 months, I imagine someone would have come forward if they saw a man carrying around any child that night. So I do suspect this is supporting the PR cause more than the actual investigation. Just my opinion though. But the dangling feet…I’ve never heard of those before and when I saw them, the emotion cause of this image was my first thought.

Mind you, the child in that picture must be sedated, Madeleins granny said she’d scream the place down if she was taken from her bed….
So the abductor is a doctore then, according to the Mccanns.
