Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann Sobs, Gerry McCann Points And 14 Questions
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “KATE’S TORMENT – ‘I think she is being held by someone in their house..as Madeleine’s mummy I feel in my heart she’s out there’”
“Distraught” Kate McCann is on Spanish TV. She is being interviewed. Says she: “I don’t know how anyone could harm anyone as beautiful as Madeleine”
Pages 4 and 5: “TEARS OF KATE – After six months of holding her heartbreak in check..Madeleine’s mum breaks down on TV”
Three pictures of Kate McCann:
“SO EMPTY: Kate tries to explain her loss on TV”
“TOO MUCH: She can’t hold back the tears”
“SOBBING: Kate and Gerry on TV”
“14 questions Portuguese police are flying to Britain to out to the McCanns and friends” – So reports Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas. Why would the police publish the questions and allow the McCanns and their friends to prepare answers? Why only – or as many as - 14 questions? Unless these are questions made up by the media, questions the police are “expected” to ask…
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – POLICE WANT ANSWERS TO 14 QUESTIONS. What detectives demand to know”
Pages 4 and 5: “Kate breaks down during TV grilling.” Kate and Gerry McCann are on the telly. Says Kate: “I feel sad and I feel lonely and our life is not as happy without Madeleine…we want people to try to reunite us with your beautiful girl”
And: “We know the truth. We know we are totally innocent. That is why we are calm. We know each other”
Says a “British detective”: “The detectives could be giving the suspects enough rope to hang themselves. It is a common tactic in police investigations to let those under suspicion speak on television in case they trip themselves up”
THE SUN front page: “KATE WEEPS FOR MADDIE – I feel in my heart she is out there”
“Distraught” Kate on the telly. Kate and Gerry are publicising a telephone hotline. No, not 999, their own number
Pages 4 and 5: “MADDIE NEEDS US – So lonely without our lovely girl, sobs Kate”
Three pictures of “Precious..the happy Maddie her mum longs to see”
Three pictures of the McCanns:
“Anguish…Gerry faces TV quiz”
“Ordeal…Kate fights back tears”
“Brave…but the McCanns struggle with their emotions as they relive the night Maddie vanished”
The hotline. Says Kate McCann: “We want to appeal to the people of Spain, Portugal and North Africa to help us and to tell them we have a new central phone number for them to call”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE MUM FINALLY CRACKS – Suspect Kate sobs on TV as she is quizzed”
Pages 8 and 9: “MADDIE’S MUM TV BREAKDOWN – Torment as Kate’s sobs halt interview four times”. Spanish TV journalist Roberto Arce sees Kate “prostrate with pain”
The McCanns hotline number is 00 34 902 300 213
DAILY MAIL pages 8 and 9: “I’M SAD AND LONELY…LIFE IS NOT HAPPY”
Says Mrs McCann: “Somebody knows something. It is not about us. It is about Madeleine.” Is it? We are watching the parents
Gerry McCanns is a “consultant cardiologist”. He says: “We have not been charged with anything”
“Will they find her in Spain?” – Gerry McCann tells El Mundo newspaper (Spain): “The possibility that Madeleine is alive and in Spain is real…If someone had a car, it is clear they could cross into Spain. There is no border guard and no one closed the border the night Madeleine disappeared.” And we look again at the police
THE TIMES page 3: “Sobbing Kate McCann insists that Madeleine is alive and being held”
“Days of hope and despair” – The Times looks at some key dates: June 21 (Madeleine in Malta); August 3 (Madeleine in Belgium); August 23 (Madeleine in Morocco)
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “’I’M SO SAD AND LONELY’ – KATE McCANN WEEPS FOR MADELEINE ON SPANISH TV”
Page 5: “’Sad, lonely’ Kate weeps for Madeleine in TV interview” – Kate McCann wept “uncontrollably”. Says he:” I feel anxious she is not with us”
THE GUARDIAN page 12: “McCanns set up phone line to seek Madeleine”
THE INDEPENDENT: No Madeleine news today

1281 Ian Says:
«1273 yep, they really do think the public are thick, sadly many are, Stig, Mathew, coolandcalm…not the majority thank goodness, but many are really stupid people (or have vested interests).»
Ian, did you ever read Stig’s post, on the evening of 21 October just before the Anorak site went down (and which was unfortunately swallowed up by that server crash), when you asked him to justify his (differing :-)) point of view? It was a careful, considered and logical argument. Something that I have sadly never had the privilege of seeing from any of your posts. They are abundantly rich in personal insults and mud-slinging towards all who dare to disagree with your point of view, but profoundly lacking in calm and logical reasoning. Did you ever hear the story that when a lawyer knows his argument is at its weakest, he will shout all the more loudly and shrilly, in order to hide that fact? But when his argument is strong, he will allow its logic to speak for itself. Ian, if you feel the need to revert to this strategy of mud-slinging, you are just showing yourself to be mentally bankrupt. Sorry, but it’s true, mate. Good night.

Why hire a person trained by the FBI - there are thousands of school children and students at FE who could have drawn the “photo-fit.”
The position of the child is important I feel. If the child was alive I think that she would have been carried in a more upright position - head on the adult’s chest/shoulder. The position shown holds the child away from the body/head of the adult. We are less likely to have a face against our own (unless the child was our own) if the child was dead. Carrying a child in that position is also more tiring.

IAN!
Did you try what I suggested in post #1313.

People lie every day about all sorts of things for no reason at all. These two are major suspects in one of the biggest police hunts in history. They are likely to be “careful” about what they say.

Hello. Looks like the McCanns non-efforts to look for Madeleine are stirring things up in Spain and Morocco at the moment.
October 25th, 2007 at 10:46 pm
1331 Peterson The portuguese bashing probably actually dates back to when we were all at war with spain/france/portugal back in the old imperialist days! haha retarded isn’t it.

1295 “Well they would need to be guilty of other Narcissistic behavior - self-centered but not necessarily criminal behavior if Maddie died through an accident.” If a child dies accidentally, even if the parents’ recklessness was partially to blame, and the parents tell the truth, the law will treat them mercifully. The public would be forgiving, too. (I’ve always thought that the McCanns made a big mistake in not taking more repsonsibility for leaving their kids alone.) However, if a child dies accidentally and the parents dispose of the body and lie to the police and claim she’s been abducted, they’re on the hook for at least two serious crimes (illegal disposal of dead body, falesely reporting a crime). Plus, once parents are involved in a coverup of their child’s death, later explanations that the child died accidentally will be met with much more skepticism (to put it mildly) than if they had told the truth at the outset. Because the McCanns’ insist that Madeleine has been abducted (by someone outside the Tapas Nine), there are two stark explanations for what happened to Madeleine: either she was, indeed, abducted by someone outside the Tapas Nine…OR the parents were involved in some way. If the explanation is the latter, morally it doesn’t really matter how the McCanns were involved. If you lie about your own child’s disappearance, and claim you think she’s the captives of sickos when you know she’s dead, you deserve as much scorn as if you killed her deliberately.

Liars, yes. But murderers?
===========================
If they weren’t murderers, or covering up a fatal accident, why should they be liars?
October 25th, 2007 at 10:44 pm
1325 - All I can say is that I would not trust them - I cannot tell you what they have done but people who lie about one thing tend to lie about other things.
The fact they are lying about something and it could cause a possible perportrator not to be found is of a considerable worry and not something that a parent wanting to bring their child home safely and quickly would do.

Not murderers then. But hiding their own dead child in a freezer? And pretending to be looking for her?

1325. Who said anything about murder. It was an accident because the parents were not being parental.

Re the new picture from the Guardian - such is modern reporting.
“Crucially, the child, with her legs dangling, is wearing the same pyjamas as Madeleine on the evening of May 3.”
Well I never …

This image represents media manipulation of public perception of the crudest kind. I thought Goebbels was dead, but obviously not. Heil Hitler!

Still waiting for a reply to my email, it hasn’t been read yet. The server tells me when it’s unread or not clarkeson. Ive asked what the arrangements are regarding collections at mark warner, and the town itself, and if the mc canns would have reason to go to the dump

Mari Olli from Exeter…what a small world.

1301 Andrew, post it for me?
October 25th, 2007 at 10:39 pm
Okay!!!
I am considered to have a nack for telling about a persons character - I am frequently called upon by associates to give opinions of people - some who I have never even met - just on a profile they give me. I am 100 % right and I am not always happy about this. It has meant some people are not given jobs and some people are sacked and others are not promoted or given a position that they would be better suited to. The only times anyone has ignored my advice they found I was right - unfortunately by then the person was caught doing drugs in the toilet , stolen large sums of money, commited fraud or even commited violence at work. Needless to say those people that ignored me now ask me to help in personal relationships too - I usually tone down the warnings on those since love and work are two seperate things.
My point is - watching the McCanns and friends I can tell you that they are liars!

Know what you mean by their strange behavior. But if they really did it they must be truly wacko. Then there must be some seriously odd stuff in their past too.
October 25th, 2007 at 10:39 pm
1308. Remember, it’s behavior by a narcissist. And I think Kate may have lost her link to reality. So Kate could given her fragile state of denial. Maddie isn’t dead. Maddie is just gone and will return and comes to me at night…..it’s quite tragic really!
October 25th, 2007 at 10:38 pm
1315 SteveT I think they did, but at first it was a fvour from a person keen to help…..Murat.
October 25th, 2007 at 10:38 pm
1315
So you don’t think Murat is in on it then?
October 25th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
One thing that I do not believe is that the McCanns paid someone to dispose of a dead body. Anyone doing this would also be inclined to go for some of the reward money. Even Gerry would not be that stupid.
