Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann Sobs, Gerry McCann Points And 14 Questions
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “KATE’S TORMENT – ‘I think she is being held by someone in their house..as Madeleine’s mummy I feel in my heart she’s out there’”
“Distraught” Kate McCann is on Spanish TV. She is being interviewed. Says she: “I don’t know how anyone could harm anyone as beautiful as Madeleine”
Pages 4 and 5: “TEARS OF KATE – After six months of holding her heartbreak in check..Madeleine’s mum breaks down on TV”
Three pictures of Kate McCann:
“SO EMPTY: Kate tries to explain her loss on TV”
“TOO MUCH: She can’t hold back the tears”
“SOBBING: Kate and Gerry on TV”
“14 questions Portuguese police are flying to Britain to out to the McCanns and friends” – So reports Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas. Why would the police publish the questions and allow the McCanns and their friends to prepare answers? Why only – or as many as - 14 questions? Unless these are questions made up by the media, questions the police are “expected” to ask…
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – POLICE WANT ANSWERS TO 14 QUESTIONS. What detectives demand to know”
Pages 4 and 5: “Kate breaks down during TV grilling.” Kate and Gerry McCann are on the telly. Says Kate: “I feel sad and I feel lonely and our life is not as happy without Madeleine…we want people to try to reunite us with your beautiful girl”
And: “We know the truth. We know we are totally innocent. That is why we are calm. We know each other”
Says a “British detective”: “The detectives could be giving the suspects enough rope to hang themselves. It is a common tactic in police investigations to let those under suspicion speak on television in case they trip themselves up”
THE SUN front page: “KATE WEEPS FOR MADDIE – I feel in my heart she is out there”
“Distraught” Kate on the telly. Kate and Gerry are publicising a telephone hotline. No, not 999, their own number
Pages 4 and 5: “MADDIE NEEDS US – So lonely without our lovely girl, sobs Kate”
Three pictures of “Precious..the happy Maddie her mum longs to see”
Three pictures of the McCanns:
“Anguish…Gerry faces TV quiz”
“Ordeal…Kate fights back tears”
“Brave…but the McCanns struggle with their emotions as they relive the night Maddie vanished”
The hotline. Says Kate McCann: “We want to appeal to the people of Spain, Portugal and North Africa to help us and to tell them we have a new central phone number for them to call”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE MUM FINALLY CRACKS – Suspect Kate sobs on TV as she is quizzed”
Pages 8 and 9: “MADDIE’S MUM TV BREAKDOWN – Torment as Kate’s sobs halt interview four times”. Spanish TV journalist Roberto Arce sees Kate “prostrate with pain”
The McCanns hotline number is 00 34 902 300 213
DAILY MAIL pages 8 and 9: “I’M SAD AND LONELY…LIFE IS NOT HAPPY”
Says Mrs McCann: “Somebody knows something. It is not about us. It is about Madeleine.” Is it? We are watching the parents
Gerry McCanns is a “consultant cardiologist”. He says: “We have not been charged with anything”
“Will they find her in Spain?” – Gerry McCann tells El Mundo newspaper (Spain): “The possibility that Madeleine is alive and in Spain is real…If someone had a car, it is clear they could cross into Spain. There is no border guard and no one closed the border the night Madeleine disappeared.” And we look again at the police
THE TIMES page 3: “Sobbing Kate McCann insists that Madeleine is alive and being held”
“Days of hope and despair” – The Times looks at some key dates: June 21 (Madeleine in Malta); August 3 (Madeleine in Belgium); August 23 (Madeleine in Morocco)

About the fund, someone probably suggested a fund and they thought that would work. Right away Kate was thinking of helping other lost and missing children. She is in a fantasy world. Jetting about. Pretending. Hoping she will wake up and Maddie will be alive and all of this will be a dad dream.
And Gerry just wants her to calm down and keep it together long enough for the PL to become tired of chasing their tails with little or no evidence.

1359 Thats just how Jane described I think…
October 25th, 2007 at 11:01 pm
Is Jane Tanner Denis Tanner’s grand daughter?
He was an habitual liar too on Coronation Street.
October 25th, 2007 at 11:01 pm
I also thought that Ms Tanner initially saw a child wrapped in a blanket, which then morphed into being a child in Madeleine’s pyjamas?
Interesting piece on Newsnight just now re: low copy number DNA analysis, which is being used in the McCann case. It’s currently at the centre of the trial of Sean Hoey for the Omagh bombings - of course, if the low copy analysis is deemed unreliable, it could significantly bolster the McCann’s case against the PJ’s DNA evidence.
Never ceases to amaze me how, on the one hand, DNA is a ‘wonder tool’ in crime detection and we should have a national DNA database forthwith and on the other it’s totally unreliable…seemingly dependent on whose at the wrong end of the evidence…

Sly? Im not sure that is Maddie actually.

Why hire a person trained by the FBI - there are thousands of school children and students at FE who could have drawn the “photo-fit.”
The position of the child is important I feel. If the child was alive I think that she would have been carried in a more upright position - head on the adult’s chest/shoulder. The position shown holds the child away from the body/head of the adult. We are less likely to have a face against our own (unless the child was our own) if the child was dead. Carrying a child in that position is also more tiring.”
===============================
So, as this so-called photo-fit picture has obviously been authorised by the McCann team isn’t it sending out mixed messages? On the most recent Spanish TV interview the McCanns insist their daughter is alive and “being held in someone’s house…I don’t know why” (Kate McCann)
On the other hand the crude drawing in the newspaper of the alleged ‘abductor’ carrying the child indicates, by the child’s position and clothing (a) that it is dead and (b) because of the pyjames being identical to those described as Madeleine’s ..that it is a dead Madeleine being carried away.
…..but I thought the McCanns are insisting that she is alive and that’s why they’ve started up a new private hotline and an advertising campaign to find her in Spain, Portugal or Morocco– oh yes, and perhaps look for her in that house Kate is so sure she is in…..confused? you will be!

john
An abducter: Do you want to be seen carrying a comatose child with legs dangling, head dangling and body cross layed? NO! you carry the comatose child you are abducting head up on your shoulder, upright. Because otherwise it looks like you’re carrying a DEAD child.
But that’s too much common sense innit. For the McCanns that is. AHHHHH
The new photofit is of a man carrying a dead child. I’m losing patience now. I hope everybody else is to.

1330. Well that have a lot to lose. Their twins, their jobs, and their future. Their respect, their lives……what would they do after prison in Portugal, not a pretty thought. What would happen to the twins but it is more like, what will become of me. It was an accident. Dead is dead. Nothing to do about it now but LIE and Cover-up and Pretend!
October 25th, 2007 at 10:58 pm
Hey Stig, looks like they really are onto something now. Even has Maddies PJ’s drawn in , so thats proof positive!

1331 Peterson The portuguese bashing probably actually dates back to when we were all at war with spain/france/portugal back in the old imperialist days! haha retarded isn’t it.”
======================
Portugal is actually our oldest ally dating from The Treaty of Windsor 1386 and they have helped Britain many times over the years in military situations. You’d never think it though would you? not from xenophobic Britain’s unwarranted and agressive attitude towards her now.

You must be confused! Stig is pro-Mcann and never argues logically!

“When she broke down at the end of the Spanish television interview his first thought was to stop her from speaking while she was still being recorded.
Instead of comforting here, he said: “Don’t say anything till they’ve taken off your microphone.”

I’ve had some experience of people going through a stressful situation, namely divorce, it isn’t that strange for people to behave oddly, especially when one party is guilty of inappropriate behaviour (adultry, abuse, etc.) They will lie to justify their actions or just lie and lay the blame on the other party, quite often they repeat the lies so much, they believe that the lies are in fact true. I have heard it said so many times, one party has lost all sense of reality and wouldn’t know the truth if it bit them in the behind.

“If Madeleine really had an accident, surely it would take a complete lunatic to store her in a freezer for weeks, dispose of her body and then go visit the Pope the day after that? And all this without breaking down?”
They’ve done well so far. Kept appearances up big time. Who knows what they’re capable of.

1063 Ade…
Premeditated euthanasia… I keep coming back to this idea. It is chilling. But many facts support it. The only motivation for it that I can understand is that Madeleine was not quite normal, and the perfect parents didn’t want to deal with that. They may have convinced themselves that it was best for her.
Earlier there was a lot of discussion about the coloboma (eye birth defect, which the fragrant McCanns have made into a logo) and the other, less obvious, birth defects that could accompany it. It is possible that Madeleine had quite severe medical problems, and the perfect parents could not handle having a less-than-perfect child. I do not understand this, but it is consistent with my observations of the McCanns.
If this hypothesis were true, it is entirely consistent with Kate showing weird grief and falling apart. The world is full of murderers who thought they were justified and later succumbed to remorse - both fictional and real.
I keep thinking of Dostoyevsky’s “Crime and Punishment.” Raskolnikov killed the old pawnbroker woman (on purpose) and her half-wit sister (by accident), had convinced himself that he was morally superior enough to handle it- after all the old woman was of no use to anyone… yet cracked in the end and confessed to his nemesis, Inspector Porfiry Porfirovich. All the Inspector had to do was sit back and wait, and ask a few well-timed questions.
At least Raskolnikov didn’t do a logo. That logo is truly macabre.
