Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann Sobs, Gerry McCann Points And 14 Questions
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “KATE’S TORMENT – ‘I think she is being held by someone in their house..as Madeleine’s mummy I feel in my heart she’s out there’”
“Distraught” Kate McCann is on Spanish TV. She is being interviewed. Says she: “I don’t know how anyone could harm anyone as beautiful as Madeleine”
Pages 4 and 5: “TEARS OF KATE – After six months of holding her heartbreak in check..Madeleine’s mum breaks down on TV”
Three pictures of Kate McCann:
“SO EMPTY: Kate tries to explain her loss on TV”
“TOO MUCH: She can’t hold back the tears”
“SOBBING: Kate and Gerry on TV”
“14 questions Portuguese police are flying to Britain to out to the McCanns and friends” – So reports Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas. Why would the police publish the questions and allow the McCanns and their friends to prepare answers? Why only – or as many as - 14 questions? Unless these are questions made up by the media, questions the police are “expected” to ask…
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – POLICE WANT ANSWERS TO 14 QUESTIONS. What detectives demand to know”
Pages 4 and 5: “Kate breaks down during TV grilling.” Kate and Gerry McCann are on the telly. Says Kate: “I feel sad and I feel lonely and our life is not as happy without Madeleine…we want people to try to reunite us with your beautiful girl”
And: “We know the truth. We know we are totally innocent. That is why we are calm. We know each other”
Says a “British detective”: “The detectives could be giving the suspects enough rope to hang themselves. It is a common tactic in police investigations to let those under suspicion speak on television in case they trip themselves up”
THE SUN front page: “KATE WEEPS FOR MADDIE – I feel in my heart she is out there”
“Distraught” Kate on the telly. Kate and Gerry are publicising a telephone hotline. No, not 999, their own number
Pages 4 and 5: “MADDIE NEEDS US – So lonely without our lovely girl, sobs Kate”
Three pictures of “Precious..the happy Maddie her mum longs to see”
Three pictures of the McCanns:
“Anguish…Gerry faces TV quiz”
“Ordeal…Kate fights back tears”
“Brave…but the McCanns struggle with their emotions as they relive the night Maddie vanished”
The hotline. Says Kate McCann: “We want to appeal to the people of Spain, Portugal and North Africa to help us and to tell them we have a new central phone number for them to call”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE MUM FINALLY CRACKS – Suspect Kate sobs on TV as she is quizzed”
Pages 8 and 9: “MADDIE’S MUM TV BREAKDOWN – Torment as Kate’s sobs halt interview four times”. Spanish TV journalist Roberto Arce sees Kate “prostrate with pain”
The McCanns hotline number is 00 34 902 300 213
DAILY MAIL pages 8 and 9: “I’M SAD AND LONELY…LIFE IS NOT HAPPY”
Says Mrs McCann: “Somebody knows something. It is not about us. It is about Madeleine.” Is it? We are watching the parents
Gerry McCanns is a “consultant cardiologist”. He says: “We have not been charged with anything”
“Will they find her in Spain?” – Gerry McCann tells El Mundo newspaper (Spain): “The possibility that Madeleine is alive and in Spain is real…If someone had a car, it is clear they could cross into Spain. There is no border guard and no one closed the border the night Madeleine disappeared.” And we look again at the police
THE TIMES page 3: “Sobbing Kate McCann insists that Madeleine is alive and being held”
“Days of hope and despair” – The Times looks at some key dates: June 21 (Madeleine in Malta); August 3 (Madeleine in Belgium); August 23 (Madeleine in Morocco)

Mabye Kate will be the next casualty of this affair, and not in the good way either, and what if her hubby makes her missing in action permanent….if you get my drift. Wifes have been offed for less reasons….

1429 - Bob - Everyone makes mistakes, its human nature.
However, there is a vast difference between making a mistake and being negligent.
It is basic common sense that you don’t leave three small children alone in an apartment under any circumstances. If an emergency situation arose where you had to leave the children, you leave them with another adult.
They not only left them alone they left the door unlocked. They can’t claim that the door was unlocked so that if an emergency arose they could get out because they were too small and weak to open a heavy patio door.
In addition, they did not make a mistake, they made a conscious decision to leave the children alone.
Only an equally moronic idiot would find their actions acceptable.

“Repent yee sinners of the boards still feasting on the misfortune of a poor young tot, know yee that the Lord and his justice awaits those who revel in the work of satan,go forth and do the work of the Lord earn your place at his side, beware the works of satan prince of darkness”
There are 2 sinners the Lord should be dealing with. Is the Lord one of the Tapas 9?

LOOKING FOR WHATEVER REMAINS OF MADDY MCCANN
976
Stevo Says:
“This was my theory weeks ago. I just noticed it in the Portuguese press translations:
“The Judiciaria believes that, while they were having dinner, little Maddie left the apartment looking for her parents and, while still sleepy, fell off the flight of stairs that exist at the apartment’s exit, dying accidentally and ending up being discovered by Gerry McCann, who then asked for Murat’s help.””
This was my theory too. Not that I am haggling over who FIRST thought of it; to the contrary, your posting has pretty much covered exactly what I thought many times, and it’s very convenient to have someone else taking the trouble to write it all up!
I thought up this theory, because sniffer dogs found body scents on the stairs , along with blood. My first guess was that “Calpol Night” was given in a heavy dose and caused delirium. Now I see you and others are talking about accidental ingestion of illicit drugs, which is also possible. The PJ mention that “drwosniness” contributed to the fatal fall, but they surely mean an induced drowsiness, or delirium. The child would then not have natural responses that would prevent the fall, or mitigate the injury when she did fall.
A more sinister version might have Kate killing the girl by pushing her into a fall — perhaps accidentally bumping her.
I’ve really enjoyed your posts, and those of many others. I agree with the mulling about some background reason for the otherwise bafflingly intense cover-up — such as illegal drugs, or (also suggested) MONEY LAUNDERING.
Team McCann has showed an expertise in fund-raising and money-handling. This is another reason I think
1) money will be drained out of the “search” fund so that nothing is left by the time it becomes clear and irrefutable that the girl is dead
2) much more money is involved than shows up in that fund. Many people have contributed directly to the McCanns, not to their sham company.
Though legally the McCanns can draw money from that fund for living expenses while “searching” (and I would guess the fund is actually paying Gerry the salary he has missed by not working in order to “look for Maddy”), it might become problematic to do so after they cannot deny that the girl is definitely dead. It would be better for them to just drain the fund dry before that eventuality.
Looking at the legal aspects of the Team McCann financing, the scam of defrauding the public could actually bring a more severe sentence than child neglect, or even an accidental killing of the child would have. Coupled with “obstruction of justice” (ie. constant lying and deception), the FRAUD is a really massive one, perhaps unprecedented. And of course it aggravates the seriousness of any child neglect and accidental homicide charges.
Perhaps they can get away with this BECAUSE of Portuguese secrecy laws? For they can pretend they do not know for sure that the girl is dead, but have only heard rumours or leaks.
So rather than proof that Kate is responsible for the girl’s death, I think proof that the McCanns KNEW she was dead would be highly incriminating, and put them behind bars where they belong.
To sum up briefly, the McCanns belong behind bars, not in them…

Without a confession, without a body, the PL have nothing. Gerry is confident that a body will never be found. So where does that leave us?

Miss Rachael 1411/ Soothsayer posted earlier that there may be a problem about this happening, politics I think.

1425 Andrew Says:
Peter o.. the fabrication part would make more sense. They “say2 the door was open and madeleine was there…. Do any of us believe anything they say??
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Who knows Andrew… I’ve long been convinced that they know rather more about something(s) leading up to Madeleine’s disappearance. I haven’t a clue what and I have no evidence to support my ‘feelings’. (Not that that stops me from ‘theorising’ about scenarios.) The kindest thought I’ve been able to come up with is that there are some embarrassing behaviours/relationships implicated in the lead up to the alleged abduction.
I think it would be right and proper to be able to draw a conclusive line under this case. A little girl is missing and the many people who love her would I’m sure much rather know the truth and, if it transpires she is dead, give her an appropriate memorial/resting place. Many millions more, certainly here in Europe feel they ‘know’ Madeleine, and they too would probably prefer to have the truth. I do feel for the McCann’s family and friends if it transpires that the McCann’s were in some way complicit in Madeleine’s disappearance. There is sadly much more fallout to come from this case yet.

1435 Wanderer and other anti-mcann cynics, I really think that the impression should be given credence..
Its only a few months since Jane (unbiased) saw this awful criminal heading toward the sea….murats…at 21:15, or 21:30 or 21:10…and the picture is by a world renown forensic artist (who?).
Now that all these discrepancies turn out to be Johnny foreigner not understanding, Im sure everyone will realise the Mccanns didnt actually neglect the kids. It was a mistake - ask Stig/coolandcalm etc (bless ‘em)

Don’t know if this has been answered yet, but the book you refer to was Frank Morrison’s ‘Who Moved the Stone?’. I think he was an archaeologist or scientist of some kind and he became a Christian after being satisfied that the question of who moved the heavy tombstone of Christ was the key to understanding whether Christ really rose from the dead or not.
It was a best-selling book in the 1960s.
He was born in a stone as well. The mangers in those days were made of stone

“You must be confused! Stig is pro-Mcann and never argues logically!
Lets see that post you refer to.”
The post of mine being referred to was swallowed and erased by the crash of the Anorak server, so the post is no longer there. However, I wrote it offline so I still have it and could post it again if you want.

Judith C,
Remember this is a woman who is going to have a nervous breakdown soon. Dodgy footwear is part of the procedure to be adopted a fortnight before your ‘breakdown’ commences, along with inappropriate speech and body language, staring at spouse in a despairing/curious way, fidgeting and wearing less slap (not enough to look rough, mind, just a bit mad).

Wrong leaving very young childen in an unlocked room, out of view, next to a swimming pool or covering up an accident by disposing of your childs body and claiming an abduction? Not mistakes that bad!

I agree with you about the PR thing, Butterfly. I don’t think this is helpful to any potential witnesses that night, as it doesn’t include a face. More or less, anyone who saw anyone acting strangely or carrying something like that within the few days surrounding the disappearance, should come forward.
Saying that, I think this drawing is more about PR, that drawing, with the dangling helpless legs, and this mysterious man who doesn’t have a face, will be sure to spark some emotion in people (how evil can someone be, to just walk off with someone’s child?! and so on…). I think is a far better tool for the PR side of things, than the investigation.
