Why would the police publish the questions and allow the McCanns and their friends to prepare answers? Why only – or as many as - 14 questions? Unless these are questions made up by the media, questions the police are “expected” to ask…
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – POLICE WANT ANSWERS TO 14 QUESTIONS. What detectives demand to know”

Pages 8 and 9: “MADDIE’S MUM TV BREAKDOWN – Torment as Kate’s sobs halt interview four times”. Spanish TV journalist Roberto Arce sees Kate “prostrate with pain”
The McCanns hotline number is 00 34 902 300 213
DAILY MAIL pages 8 and 9: “I’M SAD AND LONELY…LIFE IS NOT HAPPY”
Says Mrs McCann: “Somebody knows something. It is not about us. It is about Madeleine.” Is it? We are watching the parents
Gerry McCanns is a “consultant cardiologist”. He says: “We have not been charged with anything”
“Will they find her in Spain?” – Gerry McCann tells El Mundo newspaper (Spain): “The possibility that Madeleine is alive and in Spain is real…If someone had a car, it is clear they could cross into Spain. There is no border guard and no one closed the border the night Madeleine disappeared.” And we look again at the police

People in the UK will start posting in numbers in about 1 hour. Dont think it will hit 2000 befor new post comes out.

Do you think everyone here would mind if I put them
on a video for YouTube?

1726. Oh I think I see now. He attached the kitchen copy to the takeaway. Yeah that would do it! LOL I never heard of anything like that before I worked in a really busy place with posh doctors and lawyers who could be really incredibly nice and several gave me huge “gifts” at Christmas and when I graduated but there was a group of others who were completely impossible to deal with. I never thought to describe to the kitchen on the ticket. We usually spoke in Spanish or Greek so that (hopefully) the nasty customers wouldn’t know what we were saying.

1726. I also paid for college by waiting and bartending and I also used macros. I don’t know of any incident where instructions to the kitchen could be read on the bill by the patron? This would also mean that things like medium rare, sauce on the side, shaken not stirred would also be present on the customer’s bill or am I misunderstanding your message?

It’s not at all difficult to believe someone wrote “they’re all drunk” on the McCanns’ bar bill. When I worked my way through school in bars and restaurants, one very posh hotel had a bartender who was fired because a customer was loud and rude, and when putting in an order for her hamburger to the kitchen, the bartender typed in, on the “comments” line (which is where you put things like, ” no lettuce” or “add the pickles”), “She is bitch.”
Oh man.
The bartender was fired because he forgot about what he’d typed in on what they call “the macros,” and the kitchen, when sending out the order in a “to go” box, put the “receipt” taped on top. And that receipt had the bartender’s typed-in comment, “she is bitch” on it.
An unbelievable ruckus ensued when the woman customer saw it.
So yes, this type of thing is pretty common in bar/restaurants.

Goodnight Kris nice chatting with you. I love chickens, hens and roosters and would love to have a little farm one day.
Hope you weren’t hurt? When hens attack! Could be a new Fox show?

October 26th, 2007 at 4:43 am
Goodnight all.
October 26th, 2007 at 4:41 am
Bob, I don’t think so. I bet we could do it if we tried. Except I think I’d rather go to bed.
October 26th, 2007 at 4:40 am
Willo, I have chickens, too. (Saw your comment earlier). I have a mama hen with 4 chicks right now– in about 7 years of keeping chickens this was the first year a hen hatched any eggs. They are SO much fun to watch. The chicks were born August 24 and they are still following mama everywhere… The other day I tried to pick up some of the chicks to sh ow some visiting children and mama hen flew at me like a crazy chicken trying to peck my eyes out. SHe is an excellent mother.

Has this ever gotten up to 2000 posts?
October 26th, 2007 at 4:36 am
Hideki, well, I’m NOT getting into that argument again. It goes on for hours. I could cut and paste all my old comments on the nature of neglect and abuse. But it’s not worth it.
October 26th, 2007 at 4:36 am
Hideki,
Was it you who earlier today had brought up the possible financial malfeasance involving the 2 Brian Kennedys? I think that’s an interesting twist in this tragedy but would need evidence of your theory as far as the Kennedy thing is concerned. But it is an interesting idea and if I were investigating this alleged abduction I would be monitoring all the money.
Do you know anything about stories that the Madeleine fund somehow circumvents the PayPal service fee or something to that effect? I’ve read that there was something fishy going on with how the McCanns set up the fund and their using PayPal?
October 26th, 2007 at 4:33 am
Hideki, do you believe Murat is involved?
October 26th, 2007 at 4:32 am
Kris wrote, “No, Hideki, I didn’t say I was partially convinced they are stupid. I said I am not fully convinced they are guilty…”
Not fully convinced is the same as partially convinced. So I guess you really just mean you are not convinced, but are intending to sound more open-minded.
“and by “guilty” I mean “guilty of killing Madeleine and covering it up.”You, obviously , are entirely convinced.”
Why play games with adverbs? One is either convinced or not. Yes, I am convinced they are guilty of child neglect, and are also guilty of covering up the death, and of defrauding the public of millions, pretending to “search” for someone they know is dead.
But I am certainly not convinced that they themselves killed the girl. That is a separate matter. However, yes I am indeed convinced that they are RESPONSIBLE for the death (however it occurred), which happened in the midst of their gross and inexcusable negligence.
October 26th, 2007 at 4:25 am
1710- Thea- Even worse, really. On the page “About madeleine” there is precisely no information about Madeleine except, if I’m not mistaken, her age and height/weight. Otherwise it mentions her siblings, all her grandparents, her aunts and uncles. It’s really disconcerting. When I read that page way back in August, before I’d read much about this case, before I had any inkling the parents were implicated, that page stopped me cold. I thought, “Boy, these are some weird parents.”
It all does remind me a bit of the Ramsey case. Another one that was never solved.
October 26th, 2007 at 4:20 am
No, Hideki, I didn’t say I was partially convinced they are stupid. I said I am not fully convinced they are guilty , and by “guilty” I mean “guilty of killing Madeleine and covering it up.”
You, obviously , are entirely convinced. That’s fine. I’m not.
October 26th, 2007 at 4:17 am
Kris wrote: “I still am not entirely convinced they are guilty of this coverup. But IF they are covering up, they are truly disgusting human beings. Not to mention stupid.”
You are “not entirely convinced”? So you are PARTIALLY convinced that the McCanns are disgusting human beings, and are stupid?
” Wouldn’t people who are guilty shut the heck up already and realize that saying nothing is way, way better than saying things that dig the hole deeper?”
Maybe this is further evidence that they are STUPID?
However, many posters have perceptively indicated that they think Kate is like a puppet controlled by Gerry, who is obviously quite cleve (not stupid). And many have pointed out that the motives for this cover-up probably go beyond Kate & Gerry. In that sense, Gerry himself may be someone’s puppet, having been convinced by them that participating in a cover-up is essential to his survival. Isn’t this what he himself did to Susan Healy in his phone call to her one hour after the incident was reported?
His first phone call to “grannie” Susan Healy was revealing, in that he told her “we need you to accept that there has been an abduction”. Who is “we”… only Kate & Gerry? Not likely. Plainly Healy knew the “disaster” was NOT an abduction, but was basically being told to ACCEPT that story. Healy probably got more detailed and convincing reasons why it was in her best interests to accept this story and go along with it — not a ring of the phone, but a knock at her door.

I don’t actually agree the press is turning against them. I think the press plays it like a roller coaster in order to keep the public interested. the public interest was waning a bit so they have to drag us all back in with a series of stories that challenges our current beliefs about the case… make us think the McCanns DID do it… then change their tune in a few more weeks to once again turn our little brains all topsy turvy.
*******************************
Absolutely spot on.
October 26th, 2007 at 4:12 am
Well, I don’t know, I just hope this gets figured out soon. I bet the re-interviews this week crack the case, but we’ll see. WHEN is the rest of the DNA analysis due, ferchrissakes??? Surely this will all break open soon…
October 26th, 2007 at 4:12 am
I agree Kris. I keep forgetting about how strange the Madeleine site is I think it was Stevo who mentioned that they have no information about M on there?! I couldn’t believe it and checked it out for myself after Pat Brown Criminal Profiler listed the normal what in which the parents of missing children put information out to the public about their child and seeing that for Madeleine they’ve only listed a birthmark, colomba and her height?????
October 26th, 2007 at 4:10 am
but i must leave, again, finally, just as i said i was going to HOURS ago!
but before i do, some new vocabulary for Kitty Kat Kate:
1. devastated - we’re talking about loss, not anxiety over exam (’test’?) results.
2. I Am Sorry - it does help.
3. Game Over - useful for all sorts of sports.
goodnight chums!

SteveT :
“I think Posh Spice would be too cold for the role of Kate!”
What about Chanelle then? She’s looking to be famous quick again…
October 26th, 2007 at 4:08 am
Kris, I’m not guilty of anything. Stig is often rude towards people who question the innocence and authority of the McCanns simply because of their profession. This does not make him a good debator regardless of how persuasive some of his theories may be.
I am very objective and only recently began to question the truth of the McCanns’ version of events and their actions with the fund and their PR campaign.
October 26th, 2007 at 4:08 am
Yes, yes, i admit many of those same things give me pause– never speaking directly to Madeleine, never speaking directly to the abductor, and also the complete lack of information about Madeleine as a human being except that she was “lovely” and “beautiful” and now we have added “happy.” I have a daughter Madeleine’s age exactly and if she went missing I’d surely have some better adjectives, some stories to tell about her personality, some very specific things I would miss about her other than her lovely beautiful happiness.
But. None of those things make me necessarily think they are guilty. Only that they are weird. Of course it coudl also be because they are guilty. But it might be much more straightforward weird.

Kris: ” For instance, what’s with this repeated use of the word “lovely”??”
I think people just tend to repeat words they think hits the mark in describing someone or that they are more comfortable with, but lovely is quite normal over there.
