True…but what a disaster if one day the news says Kate has topped herself? Actually, Gerry is already rehearsed on using the word “disaster”.
But really, Gerry would turn such a situation to his own advantage by claiming that she was hounded into doing it. Sympathy would then go into overload.

If he didn’t want to answer questions in that interview, then why did he address the issue of sedation in the recent interview?

They do appear to take advice but the advice they receive is imo of poor quality. They should get rid of their PR and have Gerry’s brother or their priest be their spokesperson because their PR team sucks and is a complete waste of time and money.
Mitchell goes on and on about how the public supports them and Gerry and Kate themselves frequently mention all the letters of support and the one of two negative letters they receive weekly. I personally think they are delusional. It’s like the Emperor’s New Clothes. Mitchell tells them they are being supported and have the public’s sympathy and they believe it?

Theory based suppositions : As Murat was tasked by his friend O’Brien with the disposal, it seems unlikely that he would have used the window.
I wonder why Kate and O’Brien turned up at the Tapas bar at the same time, her shouting theyve taken her and him, I dont know….maybe looking sheepish.

The difference with Fred & Rose West is that they were the only two involved (we think).
In the present circus we have lots of others too who were involved or who know too much. Several “car accidents” are on the agenda, I feel. Or maybe they all charter a helicopter which crashes over the deepest part of the Bay of Biscay…

You’ve always jumped to the defence of the McCanns on this “no tears” issue. What do you make of the latest “sobbing” and “breakdown” interview? As per usual, the papers say one thing and the reality is something else.

That’s true, of course. And the spokesperson is usually a family member or a close friend, maybe someone who is a lawyer or similar - someone more or less accustomed to speaking in public. But I’ve never known it to be a paid PR man.

So what about;-
Gerry responds to the sedation suggestion with ‘ there is absolutely no suggestion that Madeleine..ermm.’ <Mccaan realises error, looks confused, ‘…that the children were drugged….’ - and the use of that bloody word (ludicrous) again!
Why was it not correct to say Madeleine? Why look down just then?
In my opinion this may indicate that Gerry found it difficult to say MADELEINE wasnt drugged. Why couldnt Kate rebut the suggestion?
And why did the ‘friend’ tell Kate that Amelie had said ‘Madeleines coming home to my lovely house and Im going to share my toys with her’… was she trying to upset Kate? Why did the twin speak in that ‘Disney’ manner?
Suspicious.

More importantly, in the past, these kind of cases have hardly any direct interviews by the parents for obvious reasons - they’re too distraught to face the cameras.
Usually they’d have a spokesman. Ok, they have Clarence, but he talks in the same old cliches everytime he’s on the telly. They’re really up a creek without a paddle.

What are your thoughts, if any, on the McCanns remarking on Madeleine’s colomba and making it a part of their marketing or branding of Madeleine? Also, curious if you have any opinion on Kate noted in her diary, after Madeleine went missing, how she found Madeleine difficult to handle at times?

I fear the same will happen to these as happened to Fred West or Shipman - i.e. they top themselves. In this case we’d end up never knowing what happened. I hope that the only good thing about their PR team is that there’s plenty of people watching over them at all times.

The Dispatches programme shows the clear line of sight from Robert Murat’s house to the patio doors and the steps, but not to the children’s bedroom window at the rear of apartment 5A.
Several people could have worked together to take Madeleine, and it is possible someone kept a lookout from outside Casa Liliana. That does not mean to say it was Robert Murat.
Dispatches also says the police found no evidence at Robert Murat’s house.

Pat Brown’s comments about the reward remind me of something I thought a while back - with all these PR people, advisors, etc. that they have, why has nobody ever told them how to behave in interviews, etc. I cannot believe that nobody has ever suggested they should, themselves, offer a reward. I cannot believe that nobody has ever suggested they should address Madeleine directly on the television. I do not understand why everything they say seems intended to alienate people. Surely they must realise that this is the case, irrespective of their guilt or innocence (which I doubt). Do they feel they’re above taking advice? Or do they deliberately want to make themselves unpopular?

I’ve always felt that Kate and Gerry are not at all close. They don’t seem to have a real bond. This morning on TV they had the Clintons and the show was talking about their marriage. They all alluded to the fact that their marriage looks ok but is it really a “business relationship” and one designed for the media rather than a real true loving marriage. I get the same impression with Kate and Gerry. Their hand-holding looks fake and contrived. I see no warmth between them.
