Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann Sobs, Gerry McCann Points And 14 Questions
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR front page: “KATE’S TORMENT – ‘I think she is being held by someone in their house..as Madeleine’s mummy I feel in my heart she’s out there’”
“Distraught” Kate McCann is on Spanish TV. She is being interviewed. Says she: “I don’t know how anyone could harm anyone as beautiful as Madeleine”
Pages 4 and 5: “TEARS OF KATE – After six months of holding her heartbreak in check..Madeleine’s mum breaks down on TV”
Three pictures of Kate McCann:
“SO EMPTY: Kate tries to explain her loss on TV”
“TOO MUCH: She can’t hold back the tears”
“SOBBING: Kate and Gerry on TV”
“14 questions Portuguese police are flying to Britain to out to the McCanns and friends” – So reports Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas. Why would the police publish the questions and allow the McCanns and their friends to prepare answers? Why only – or as many as - 14 questions? Unless these are questions made up by the media, questions the police are “expected” to ask…
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – POLICE WANT ANSWERS TO 14 QUESTIONS. What detectives demand to know”
Pages 4 and 5: “Kate breaks down during TV grilling.” Kate and Gerry McCann are on the telly. Says Kate: “I feel sad and I feel lonely and our life is not as happy without Madeleine…we want people to try to reunite us with your beautiful girl”
And: “We know the truth. We know we are totally innocent. That is why we are calm. We know each other”
Says a “British detective”: “The detectives could be giving the suspects enough rope to hang themselves. It is a common tactic in police investigations to let those under suspicion speak on television in case they trip themselves up”
THE SUN front page: “KATE WEEPS FOR MADDIE – I feel in my heart she is out there”
“Distraught” Kate on the telly. Kate and Gerry are publicising a telephone hotline. No, not 999, their own number
Pages 4 and 5: “MADDIE NEEDS US – So lonely without our lovely girl, sobs Kate”
Three pictures of “Precious..the happy Maddie her mum longs to see”
Three pictures of the McCanns:
“Anguish…Gerry faces TV quiz”
“Ordeal…Kate fights back tears”
“Brave…but the McCanns struggle with their emotions as they relive the night Maddie vanished”
The hotline. Says Kate McCann: “We want to appeal to the people of Spain, Portugal and North Africa to help us and to tell them we have a new central phone number for them to call”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE MUM FINALLY CRACKS – Suspect Kate sobs on TV as she is quizzed”
Pages 8 and 9: “MADDIE’S MUM TV BREAKDOWN – Torment as Kate’s sobs halt interview four times”. Spanish TV journalist Roberto Arce sees Kate “prostrate with pain”
The McCanns hotline number is 00 34 902 300 213
DAILY MAIL pages 8 and 9: “I’M SAD AND LONELY…LIFE IS NOT HAPPY”
Says Mrs McCann: “Somebody knows something. It is not about us. It is about Madeleine.” Is it? We are watching the parents
Gerry McCanns is a “consultant cardiologist”. He says: “We have not been charged with anything”
“Will they find her in Spain?” – Gerry McCann tells El Mundo newspaper (Spain): “The possibility that Madeleine is alive and in Spain is real…If someone had a car, it is clear they could cross into Spain. There is no border guard and no one closed the border the night Madeleine disappeared.” And we look again at the police
THE TIMES page 3: “Sobbing Kate McCann insists that Madeleine is alive and being held”
“Days of hope and despair” – The Times looks at some key dates: June 21 (Madeleine in Malta); August 3 (Madeleine in Belgium); August 23 (Madeleine in Morocco)
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “’I’M SO SAD AND LONELY’ – KATE McCANN WEEPS FOR MADELEINE ON SPANISH TV”
Page 5: “’Sad, lonely’ Kate weeps for Madeleine in TV interview” – Kate McCann wept “uncontrollably”. Says he:” I feel anxious she is not with us”
THE GUARDIAN page 12: “McCanns set up phone line to seek Madeleine”
THE INDEPENDENT: No Madeleine news today

661. Stevo.
Religion is going cultish. Cults operate in a secretive manner and deal with their own in their own way. If they weren’t a cult, they would instruct all victims of sexual molestion, abuse, rape, whatever, to go directly to the police. But since it is a cult, the members think their ticket to heaven is based on obedience to their superiors (the Jehovah’s Witnesses superiors are called elders). The elders, like the Vatican, handle things their own way. They believe God wants them to cover things up to prevent scandal. But they err in creating a worse scandal than the one they attempt to cover-up. GM seems to have this same problem.

Stevo 661-Not sure where the JW theories are going but some info I found.
William Bowen, former elder of JW, left due to prolific problems with abusers and how they were dealt with. He did a programme with BBC Panorama n 2002 trying to out the problem. The JW HQ in New York hold a central internal database of all known offenders within JW. Bowen managed to get the total figure which at the time was 23,720 abusers. He has set up an organisation to help the abused children called Silent Lambs. The police are not made of the aware of these abusers unless the child decides to go against their family, religion and teachings and seek outside help.

Welcome to the Third Way - possibly the best way in the world (Diane - this one is a much better catch phrase!)
If a body was disposed off (ie this was not an abduction) the McCanns benefited from assistance. The McCanns did not know the area, they did not have any utensils that would be necessary to hide a body properly, and they did not even have a car (which presumably would be necessary to transport the body).
How and why they benefited from this assistance can easily be reached by exclusion as well. Friendship or money do not justify the risk taken to keep quiet (let alone assist in hiding a body). Lack of intelligence I would suggest is also out of the equation - even Murat would not be easily convinced - unless…
unless… there’s something very very very ugly and sinister that bonds all of the intervenients in this episode…
The Third Way - is the only way… (sorry Diane couldn’t resist the Grand Finale).

For some reason, I wrote a 3 paragraph reply to you and it won’t accept it. I’m doing this two sentence posting as a test.
October 25th, 2007 at 3:27 pm
btw, was the scent of death detected near or in Robert Murat’s house? i haven’t seen any reference to it anyway, but that it was detected near a supermarket. i’m just trying to make sense of these stories of Murat’s involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance.

don’t hold your breath waiting for the PJ to arrive in the uk,my information is that objections are being raised at the highest levels,as to why the PJ should have to travel to another country to interview suspects of a crime committed in Portugal, people are digging their heels in and insisting the suspects be summond to Portugal for further investigations.all very neat, long drawn out extradition procedure will be defended by the suspects expert extradition lawyer, you got to admit they have all the bases covered,or why is one of the first people you retain an extradition lawyer and the best at that.

Is there a link showing Gerry with his aside to Kate about the mic? The ones posted here by Ade are for some old Father Ted sketches…!

actually Ade has given me an idea. the friends should all be threatened to have to watch ALL of gerrypops videos on a loop unless they agree to break the ‘pact of silence’.

But there is no mention of anyone at all “talking to the twins” and why not? As you say they should be capable of talking but only if somone has been allowed to speak to them.. I assume, since we were never told publicly, that no one has been allwoed to asak them anything relevant?

674 Third Way says:
“Let us all recognise that someone with some basic knowledge of the place must be involved in any disposal of a dead body.”
you are so correct. if not a member of the group who may have been to Portugal, been more familiar with Portugal, then which local could they - the McCs or a member of their close-knit group - have trusted to participate in such a heinous act? was this person an imbecile who thought he/she/it would not be implicated if discovered? or was this someone who was indebted to them in some way?

540 - Pat Brown,
The question of a reward is an excellent one.
I have never heard of one, I think initially when people started donating it was for rewards but I don’t recall ever hearing about a reward again.
I have lots of kids in a huge old Victorian House, without cupboards. Things are not always easy to locate. When I have searched for something and give up I simply post a reward. Inevitably one of the kids will find it, because they are motivated to look.
Likewise if a pet ever goes missing you put up posters with reward on it. And you always make the reward large because you want an incentive to get your precious pet back.
Maybe someone who stole it let us say for dog fights, might realise that the financial reward would be much greater and thus returns the pet.
Very good point.
And to all you posters it is a pleasure to see fresh thoughts coming out.
All you guys needed was a fresh, juicy bone and I believe the interview gave it to you.
I am still not with the latest train of thought about what kate said.
Brandon flours 536 - Reading your transcription of what she said the only thing that really struck me was RUBBISH. I am suddenly wondering if Kate would like to talk but is never left alone to do so, apart from that one interview some time back.
I think if we listen carefully to her words all the clues we need are there.
But I would like what you see in those words, how has it changed the picture?
Please let me know.
October 25th, 2007 at 3:16 pm
But Stevo 670 - bear with me.
There are many theories (more than 6 even) but they invariably end with either abduction that the PJ incompetently investigated or the McCanns killed her (by sedation or intentionally).
The Third Way is only the alternative way to those that think that the PJ failed to investigate what is a simple abduction and to those that think that the McCanns have killed Madeleine.
The Third Way is very simply - what we ALL know happened, what the McCanns know happened, and what the PJ at this stage already knows happened.
We have all been analysing and over analysing the McCanns interview (which I find very entertaining and very interesting). But nobody yet red in between the lines of the interviews given by the PJ spokespersons. These interviews - in the opinion of Third Way apologists actually say a lot more about what happened than the McCanns interviews (that simply indiciate a sense of guilt for something that happened but that they cannot disclose.
Join the Third Way - resist not your instinct.

The truth is sinister, it most likely is. I just don’t like people telling me that what they’re saying is the truth, the only truth so help me God.

659 Logic
The Catholic Church does not care what my opinion or anyone else’s opinion is on the subject of truth. The Catholic Church teaches that God is Truth and Catholics are to bow down to Truth, no matter what. This human relationship to Truth is reflected in the lives of the martyrs, who have given their lives for truth. Catholicism teaches that there are no white lies, all lies are sins, and all sin has to be forgiven and then expiated.

Good point - and they will remember all of it as they grow up. I think they use dolls and stuff to get youngsters to talk about this sort of thing.
Trouble is though that the drugs would be intended to make the kids unaware of goings on. maybe maddy’s drugs wore off…

Plus her ‘eye’ logo has been trademarked by the McCanns as has the campaign name ‘no stone unturned’. Strange priorities.
Also to ADMIT that they did not go out to search for Madeleine on the first night is very bizarre. Yet they expect everyone else to do their searching for them.
All their behaviour is odd - the emphasis on money for their plight only, their need for constant media attention and the demanded sympathy for themselves - not their missing daughter.
Will make a great text-book case in years to come.
