Rab I thought he came from Dumbarton? Then I heard he went to school in Glasgow, so I think they must have moved a few times. Not that it matters, they held a non-denominational vigil for Madeleine in Glasgow, so he’s obviously not some kind of bigot or victim of bigotry (if that’s what various Scottish trolls are implying).

Keep going! Check my post, please at 776. I am working and have not a lot of time right now. But I wanted you to know that I think they took a few weeks to hide the body somewhere it could seriously decompose, such as with sulfuric acid, then dug it up and whatever soil or other material it was in, and then took it to Huelva and dumped it in a bog there. Why else go to Huelva?
Is this why the McCanns keep mentioning Spain, and complaining about its open border with Portugal, and the abductor being able to drive around with no border checks?
And why give an interview now? Two reasons: One is to take attention away from Sarah Cooper and her little girl–a case where a possibly crazed British woman threw her child off the balcony. People are horrified, but the incident shows that such crazy things really do happen between children and parents.
A second possibility? The McCanns emphasize Spain because they know Madeleine’s body is in Spain, and they now want someone to find it. They want a chapter closed because now, enough time has passed. They can still keep all the money that’s been raised to “find” Madeleine. Just before the McCanns hired Clarence Mitchell, they challenged the police to “find her body” and then charge them. But now that decompostion has set in, they would more likely want someone to find Madeleine’s body, and then they can say, “Look! There’s proof that an evil abductor took her to Spain! Now, exonerate us.”
Water will slow decomposition. But there are other ways to decompose bodies, and there’s the factor of animals aiding in the decomposition even in Huelva.
Bogs–the sacred places. Everything Kate says in the interview points to her belief of Madeleine being “with them,” as in spirit, or perhaps to “come back” to them in some kind of mystical way. You know, King Arthur had a mortal wound, but was rowed out across the lake of Avalon to be healed, and to someday return. Maybe the Catholic McCanns really believe that in Huelva, their child will be reborn somehow.
Do note the date of Madeleine’s disappearance–May 3. May 1 is traditionally a really important pagan day of sacrifice. But the pagan sporting associated with May Day, especially in ancient England, could certainly last more than a day, if pagan sporting is what was going on, Third Way.
It kind of fits in with your theory of the case.
I don’t know if it is the only theory.
But perhaps the McCann’s story really is a witch hunt, after all….

I know he’s a bit of a tease….I’ll let you out of your misery…. but you won’t like it.
Basically the Third Way theory is:
Alledgedly) a group of adults on holiday abuse children (he puts it differently but that’s what he infers).
It’s with the knowledge of the parents, but they agree because they can do the same to others (told you it was sick).
There’s an accident/someone goes too far.
The group of parents (or only some) cover it up and are in a pact of silence, because they all practice this awful behaviour and face disgrace, criminal charges e.t.c.
The police figure it out but can’t find the body (and therefore can’t press charges)
Instead they put pressure on the parents (the weakest link in ‘the pact’)
Hence parents “didn’t do it”, and police not incompetent.
I’m sure now idea is out there Third Way will fill in any details, provide all the supporting comments you’ve struggled with and tie up any loose ends.
His theory not mine by the way …. so nobody sue me ….

2 of my favourites were Smith & Jones. I got in to one of their live shows 2 mins late and I was sat on the 3rd row. I got so much stick walking to my seat from them.
Remember when they used to do that head to head talking thing? It would be hilarious to hear them do a McCann sketch.

To me it doesn’t matter what he said (it might be ‘don’t say anything until’ - it could be ‘don’t you want to say anything to…’ )But I saw Gerry was awfully mad at the end of the interview, and that is more important than what he actually said. Why was he angry?

If you remember back when Murat was taken in, they confiscated his PC. Some stories said it was full of porn. Perhaps he engaged in stuff relating to that - i.e. not illegal, but embarrassing for someone for it to be exposed. When I had my computer business I had a new phone system installed. An installer asked me if we could clean up his PC for him. He was all sheepish and I said we could. It turned out this guy had an unhealthy amount of porn that needed cleaning off because he was just afraid his wife might stumble on it. Some people are scared of anything controversial and will fight to keep it quiet even if it isn’t such a big deal.

I don’t know what to make of the McCanns. I hope they’re not guilty because that would be gross - but it’s not helpful that Clarrie appeared on ‘This Morning’ and said that their core message is that ‘Madeleine is alive and has to be found’.
Since they have no way of knowing if Madeleine is alive or not (unless they’re keeping her somewhere) their core message is a lie. And calling it a core message makes it sound like a political lie - I don’t really see how a crime/human interest story ended up with such a blatant political spin on it.

I always thought it strange that they provided older photos, especially considering how quickly children change at that age. The shape of their face for instance…just look at the earlier photos, Madeline’s face was more rounded.. this leads to false sightings, as children who look like the earlier photos may be taken for the missing child. That is what i believed happened with the Morocco sighting , the child spotted had the face shape of the younger Madeleine. I’d say, unless you have no recent photographs don’t show old photos which would lead to false sightings. Other photographs which bothered me were those of the little girl wearing make-up; I’m not saying there was anything sinister in their meaning or content, but if you think your child is the victim of a paedophile ring, I don’t think it’s wise to show photos of the child wearing make-up, even if the photos were taken in a totally innocent context (which I expect they were)

Correct me if Im wrong, but I dont think we actually know what Clarence is being paid by Mr.Kennedy.
We know he was getting 75k in his previous position + generous pension, so I would assume that he got a good pay rise to jump ship from a safe job.
From what I can see, whatever he is being paid is far too much.
