Madeleine McCann: Jane Tanner’s eFit, A Spanish Angel And Wearing Pink Pyjamas
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – 70% DON’T BELIEVE McCANNS”
The McCanns are on the TV in Spain. The show is followed by a phone vote. The people vote, at least some of them do; how many, we are not told. One, two, three..? Gerry is a “cardiologist”
Pages 4 and 5: “Police: Parents are hampering probe.” Angel Galan, head of the Spanish National Police’s kidnap, extortion and murder squad says: “There is no real information to indicate that Madeleine could be in Spain although Mr and Mrs McCann might think so. I think the question is why couldn’t she be in France or in the UK? Why does it have to be Spain, Portugal or Morocco?”
“Drawing that could catch her abductor” – an artist’s impression of a man carrying a child in the vicinity of the McCanns holiday complex on May 3. The man is of average height, of average build, with dark hair and with his facial features not filled in. Do you know him?
The artist was commissioned by the McCanns in light of a person their friend Jane Tanner said she saw on the night Madeleine disappeared
THE SUN front page: “PICTURE SENSATION. He took Maddie – MAN SEEN BY McCANNS’ PAL ON FATEFUL NIGHT”
A drawing of a man. The caption: “Hunted…a drawing of man with child in his arms as seen by Jane Tanner”
Page 13: “MADDIE IN ARMS OF SNATCHER. Pyjamas ‘prove it is her’” – The man is 5ft 6. He is 5ft 10 in the Express. He is “slim”. The girl is wearing pink and white pyjamas. The man is in a maroon shirt, camel coloured trousers and black or brown shoes
Says Clarence Mitchell: “We hope this will go a long was to proving the independent eyewitness account that she was taken by someone and the police’s focus on Kate and Gerry as potential suspects is wrong”. See drawing of a man seen by McCanns’ friend
And: “We believe it does show Madeleine in his arms. The description of the pyjamas is accurate enough to believe that is the case.” The McCanns’ friend sees the girl wearing pyjamas like those worn by Madeleine, whom she knows
“GERRY BACK AT WORK” – Gerry McCann is a “cardiologist” – lest we ever forget
DAILY MIRROR front page: “This is the man who took our Madeleine. PARENTS RELEASE SKETCH”
Page 11: “’He was slim with untidy black hair, plastered back. He was hurrying with a child in pink pyjajmaas’” (No songs please)
“’KIDNAPPER’ SEEN BY KATE’S PAL”
Paul Routledge: “All I want to do is put my arms around her and say: ‘there, there’ while she sobs out her grief on my shoulder”
DAILY MAIL front page: “Friends’ fears for ‘increasingly fragile’ Kate”
Pages 8 and 9: “Is Kate at breaking point?” – If she cracks up will the papers like her better? “Friends fear for Maddie’s mother after TV ordeal”
“SPANISH EYES” – The McCanns have launched a private “proxy investigation” in Spain. Under Portuguese law it is illegal to use private detectives while an investigation is ongoing
The mystery man who may have taken her” – Mrs Tanner sees the man. She is later “racked with guilt”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE PARENTS ‘HIDING TRUTH’ – 70 per cent of TV viewers thinks McCanns are lying”
Pages 4 and 5: “BODY LANGUAGE SPECIALIST GIVES HIS VERDICT ON KATE – ‘MUM WOULD BE VERY GOOD POKER PLAYER’.” Robert Phipps watches the interview with Kate McCann on Spanish TV. She is frowning, and expert Phipps says this is indicative of “pain” and stress. Who knew? We do not know if he then voted in the subsequent poll
THE TIMES front page: “Madeleine ‘abductor’” – The white man is of “medium build”
Page 9: “’This is the man who took Madeleine away’” – The Times says the new picture bears “no resemblance to Robert Murat”. The picture has been handed to the McCanns’ detectives who are operating across Europe and North Africa
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “Madeleine ‘abductor’” – This is the man Jane Tanner says she saw at 9:15pm on May 3

So Pat Brown you are saying that the social services in the uk are putting the twins in possible grave danger ? Kate killed Maddie, purposefully, or in a rage, and Gerry came back from tennis and found Maddie dead. He helped cover up the crime. If this is so, Kate would likely suffer from Munchausen’s syndrome by Proxy (if she killed Maddie on purpose – MSP is the label for a female psychopath who harms or kills her children; husbands of MSP women tend to be detached and very oblivious or accepting of their wive’s behaviors) or another serious psychiatric disorder (if she killed Maddie accidentally). They could have removed or hidden Maddie’s body before going to dinner or the body could have been dealt with by Gerry during his checks on the children. If this is true, Maddie is dead.
• Gerry came back and killed Maddie in a rage. If this is so, Gerry would be likely rate high on a psychopathy checklist and be very controlling). Maddie’s body would have been dealt with before or during the evening. If this is true, Maddie is dead.
• Kate killed Maddie, purposefully, or in a rage, and moved or hid her body without Gerry’s knowledge. She would have had to manipulate Gerry into not noticing his daughter in bed (“Maddie’s already asleep, let’s go) before going to the restaurant. She would then possibly have hoped Gerry would do the checks and find Maddie missing, distancing herself from the crime. Maybe, if Gerry actually didn’t do visual checks, Kate finally got fed up and went and did the check herself. If this is so, Kate would likely suffer from Munchausen’s Syndrome by Proxy or another serious psychiatric disorder. If this is true, Maddie is dead

Pat
You were a criminal profiler for years. You know then that if the McCanns are lying in this way, that they are beyond Narcissitic and there is madness there, something very split off from reality. One of them may be mad, but both? And their friends along side them?
I am hoping the police have some evidence they won’t tell, in the same way they knew teh Yorkshire ripper had a gap between his teeth but didn’t release this information to the public (and missed the connection when questioning Peter Suttcliff).
I think there is something we are missing here, not having access to it because of police files.
I also prefer to think of Madeleine as alive.

Garth, I read the article 3 times. I don’t find anything which leads me to believe that since this article was written4 months ago that there is any evidence of Chemello & Paz or of the Frenchman being involved in M’s disappearance. If I am daft or stupid is always a possibility or am I to read this under a magical black light to find the clues in flourescent glowing ink?

1079. Thank you for repeating yourself. It is difficult to catch up on all that goes on here.

I just answered the same question for Anna. Please try and read the entirety of a post. I wrote that in the post.
“It is possible that the McCanns suffer from certain psychiatric designations that causes them behave in a manner which makes then look guilty of involvement in the disappearance of Maddie when in actuality, they had no part in it. For this reason, I can only say, they are good suspects; I cannot label them guilty.”

I did consider that the McCanns behaviors may only appear to look guilty as I said in my post, but this doesn’t mean we shouldn’t focus on them as suspects. One must investigate suspicious before until it can be proven that, in spite of appearances, that suspect or suspects are innocent. When John Mark Carr said he murdered JonBenet I immediately thought he was seeking attention and did not commit the crime. But, the police were right to follow up on his confession.

1073. Okay Garth let me put my knitting needles down and re-read Stig’s comment.

Yup. I’ll go along with that.
*****************************************************
Why do you go along with Peter O’s comment :
*******************************************************
“Assume for the moment that Madeleine was abducted. That being the case, then I believe her parents are complicit in that outcome since they helped create the circumstances that made the abduction possible.”
***********************************************************
That is practically, word for word, a statement that I have repeated many, many times here! Is it because you presume Peter O is a man and I am a woman??????

If mods tolerated Inspector Clouseau, it surely can tolerate the bizarre conspiracy theories of J.C.

October 26th, 2007 at 9:20 pm
1033. I have a question Pat Brown. First I so enjoy your comments. Thank you for sharing your helpful insight with us.
But given that the McCanns are quite Narcissistic and aren’t attached to their children, is their behavior odd considering their psychological dispositions? Would a Narcissistic parent act otherwise in this situation or in a kidnapping/abduction scenario? Maybe they are acting the only way they know how - rather oddly - but are not acting guilty, just true to their natures?
October 26th, 2007 at 9:20 pm
1061. Yes! Marc Bolan is right. But Marc don’t expect the Mc supporters to say anything favourable about PJ let alone Amaral. He’s their whipping boy and scapegoat deluxe.

So our contributions are being censored now are they? I’ve just had my post fade away - the third time it’s happened. I posted quite a long contribution it has just simply faded away after “Submit Comment”. If this is the case then there is absolutely no point in posting any more - Anorak is not a forum for free speech any longer. I shall give Mods & Admin a chance to reply. If no reply, then I shall assume the worst.

Mods and Admin
The posts are NOT being censored at all, there is a problem with the spam mechanism however, and with the Californian based site, due to the fires there, which is why we were off air during the week.
A lot of commercial companies (drugs and porn) advertise on here, they are removed and so are the posts by banned members.
You will notice that your posts have never been censored or otherwise edited, and we do go through ‘Spam’ at times to flush innocent or acceptable posts out.
This applies to posts from both supporters of the McCanns and those who doubt them

1034.
Stig,
That’s a really old story and those people have been released and as sinister as I believe these people are I don’t believe they are connected to M’s disappearance at all. They would be in jail by now if they were. I don’t get your bringing this couple up as an example?
There a lot of British paedos living in Spain too.

1050 One of lifes innocents I presume, you may not want to get political pity the politicians don’t feel the same way,and if you think Amaral is no longer involved in this case you are sadly mistaken,he is the only hope for justice of any sort in this tragic case.A good cop slandered by the gutter press.Ride a white swan dude.

Pat
What if we look at a different angle to the ‘disturbed’ behaviour of the McCanns?
You argue that the McCanns show narcissistic behaviour? If this is true, then what would be the main defense mechanism of a narcisisstic person? DENIAL.
Denial means carrying on as though a trauma does not exist. Considering that a trauma has really happened, and this can be hard for any person to absorb, there is a tendency for all people to disassociate or seperate off from a trauma. Not as a sign of weak attachment (Gerry and Kate seem closely attached, and attachment difficulties happen within all relationships). WHen people seperate off from a trauma, there is a feeling of disconnection and unreality to what has happened.
Attachment difficulties also need to be seperated from cultural norms. Culture not refering to people from Britain, but groups, doctors perhaps, who go for drinks and leave children home (as did this group all do).
If a person who suffers trauma disassociates, only telling a story over and over, with emotion will make things better. This is difficult to do, as a person would rather avoid a story than re-tell, and if it is told, it is often without emotion.
Anger is also a symptom of trauma.
Kate may not be pleading with a perceived abductor because of strong anti-depresant medication which leaves her confused and cloudy. Emotion is also often so overwhelming that we don’t do what is predictable in trauma situations.
PTSD also involves huge withdrawal in some people. Into the self. Not self-centred but self preservation.
These arguments are also worth considering.

Who will be the Dr Kelly of this case?

“Just curious: Why is it important to mention the nationality of Smith?”
It isn’t, just tends to indicate the person is not resident in the UK with the rest of the conspirators like Mari Olli, the Spanish tourist who photographed the child in Morocco - though Tony Bennett did try to rule him out because he met Muraat in a bar once.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:15 pm
1053. brianthesnail - I honestly want to try and understand the reasoning of those who support abudction by stranger theory.
October 26th, 2007 at 9:15 pm
“954: Thea
So Judith C do you think they are keeping quiet because they cannot
talk or because they fear the money trail will end or their current careers will cease to exist?
I get the distinct feeling that new careers are being set up for both Gerry and Kate and they will pretend to be outraged that they can no longer practise medicine but will be very happy because their new positions will give them greater wealth and privilege than they ever dreamed possible. Just my opinion at this time.”
=======================================================
I think they’ve got themselves into deeper s**t than they anticipated, being so clever and all. They probably thought it would be a doddle, with friends in high places and favours to be pulled in, to pull the wool. Of course it’s a ‘me’, ‘me’, ‘me’ situation - my career, my life, my health, my friends, my twins, my daughter Madeleine…when they remember. One of the ubiquitous ‘friends, not long ago,was quoted as saying - when the Portuguese were proposing to drag the Baragem de Bravura at Odiaxere…”Well, is she’s dead, she’s dead”. And that really sums up the McCanns. The child died - either accidentally or murdered, so what’s to do? If you admit it then your career is over, the twins are taken away, and you can’t bring back the dead.
I feel pretty sure, having been around for quite a while, being a writer and former major newspaper journalist myself, reading between the lines if you like - that people in high places are deeply involved how, why? I’m not sure, but it must surely be either for (a) sexual reasons or (b) money. These are the things that make the world go round - often crazily.
As for the royal couple being promoted to positions of importance when they are finally cleared, after a fairly rocky ride, but probably after the Portuguese PM has recovered his balance after being leaned on by hefty Gordon Broon — highly likely, otherwise they might renage on the pact of silence….and then what?

Yup. I’ll go along with that.
