Madeleine McCann: Jane Tanner’s eFit, A Spanish Angel And Wearing Pink Pyjamas
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – 70% DON’T BELIEVE McCANNS”
The McCanns are on the TV in Spain. The show is followed by a phone vote. The people vote, at least some of them do; how many, we are not told. One, two, three..? Gerry is a “cardiologist”
Pages 4 and 5: “Police: Parents are hampering probe.” Angel Galan, head of the Spanish National Police’s kidnap, extortion and murder squad says: “There is no real information to indicate that Madeleine could be in Spain although Mr and Mrs McCann might think so. I think the question is why couldn’t she be in France or in the UK? Why does it have to be Spain, Portugal or Morocco?”
“Drawing that could catch her abductor” – an artist’s impression of a man carrying a child in the vicinity of the McCanns holiday complex on May 3. The man is of average height, of average build, with dark hair and with his facial features not filled in. Do you know him?
The artist was commissioned by the McCanns in light of a person their friend Jane Tanner said she saw on the night Madeleine disappeared
THE SUN front page: “PICTURE SENSATION. He took Maddie – MAN SEEN BY McCANNS’ PAL ON FATEFUL NIGHT”
A drawing of a man. The caption: “Hunted…a drawing of man with child in his arms as seen by Jane Tanner”
Page 13: “MADDIE IN ARMS OF SNATCHER. Pyjamas ‘prove it is her’” – The man is 5ft 6. He is 5ft 10 in the Express. He is “slim”. The girl is wearing pink and white pyjamas. The man is in a maroon shirt, camel coloured trousers and black or brown shoes
Says Clarence Mitchell: “We hope this will go a long was to proving the independent eyewitness account that she was taken by someone and the police’s focus on Kate and Gerry as potential suspects is wrong”. See drawing of a man seen by McCanns’ friend
And: “We believe it does show Madeleine in his arms. The description of the pyjamas is accurate enough to believe that is the case.” The McCanns’ friend sees the girl wearing pyjamas like those worn by Madeleine, whom she knows
“GERRY BACK AT WORK” – Gerry McCann is a “cardiologist” – lest we ever forget
DAILY MIRROR front page: “This is the man who took our Madeleine. PARENTS RELEASE SKETCH”
Page 11: “’He was slim with untidy black hair, plastered back. He was hurrying with a child in pink pyjajmaas’” (No songs please)
“’KIDNAPPER’ SEEN BY KATE’S PAL”
Paul Routledge: “All I want to do is put my arms around her and say: ‘there, there’ while she sobs out her grief on my shoulder”
DAILY MAIL front page: “Friends’ fears for ‘increasingly fragile’ Kate”
Pages 8 and 9: “Is Kate at breaking point?” – If she cracks up will the papers like her better? “Friends fear for Maddie’s mother after TV ordeal”
“SPANISH EYES” – The McCanns have launched a private “proxy investigation” in Spain. Under Portuguese law it is illegal to use private detectives while an investigation is ongoing
The mystery man who may have taken her” – Mrs Tanner sees the man. She is later “racked with guilt”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE PARENTS ‘HIDING TRUTH’ – 70 per cent of TV viewers thinks McCanns are lying”
Pages 4 and 5: “BODY LANGUAGE SPECIALIST GIVES HIS VERDICT ON KATE – ‘MUM WOULD BE VERY GOOD POKER PLAYER’.” Robert Phipps watches the interview with Kate McCann on Spanish TV. She is frowning, and expert Phipps says this is indicative of “pain” and stress. Who knew? We do not know if he then voted in the subsequent poll
THE TIMES front page: “Madeleine ‘abductor’” – The white man is of “medium build”
Page 9: “’This is the man who took Madeleine away’” – The Times says the new picture bears “no resemblance to Robert Murat”. The picture has been handed to the McCanns’ detectives who are operating across Europe and North Africa
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “Madeleine ‘abductor’” – This is the man Jane Tanner says she saw at 9:15pm on May 3

I’m sure they do realise its a big possibility. However, you can’t stop searching.
‘Dumped in the sea’ - I hate them bastards whoever it was. The thought makes me sick. She was ( by what weve seen or heard of ) a lovely little girl.

To anyone who is convinced the parents are guilty:
Can you please in a very short sentence give me your main fact (and I stress the word fact) for believing this.

977 SLYFOX,
yes, definitely 2 clicks.
but do understand if i say anything more about it for the moment.
but just know that it’s 2 clicks.
but remember, all, that All Saints Day is November 1st. even if you’re not religious. (some of you will know what this means)
i’m a wee bit ’sensitive’ at the moment - no, not the boohoo kind. i’ll pop in to read off and on and may say something but fairly brief.
ciao

Yes I agree. The ocean is the most likely place. I don’t know why more poeple don’t realise this too?
October 26th, 2007 at 10:35 pm
Must leave. Best to all here, even those that are fighting hard to prove the McCanns guilty - and best to all the conspiracy theorists too! We love youse too! And most best to those level headed, they didn’t kill her or bury or etc etc. soldiers.

they just can’t help themselves can they???
October 26th, 2007 at 10:33 pm
Will, the thing is that most of us tell lies as children (I invented a friend to talk to when I was very young, knew he wasn’t there and found many reasons other people could not see him but I could.) But adults don’t normally do this unless something is very wrong.
October 26th, 2007 at 10:32 pm
I should clarify that I am Greek by birth but American (mostly) culturally sicne I have lived in this country the longest.
October 26th, 2007 at 10:31 pm
Anna,
The reason you cannot comprehend it is because you are a good person and I mean that in the purest sense.
I unfortunately am an American and have sadly encountered many unpure very sick people (quite a few British I might add) and so I no longer have much faith in humanity. I cannot afford to.
If K&G are COMPLETELY innocent of M’s disappearance then I will have found this experience a great turning point in my life and will formally apologise to them online.
I too want to believe in their innocence but I cannot any longer no matter how much I try. I too want to believe Madeleine is alive but I cannot anymore no matter how hard I try to think it is possible.
If they are innocent they are the most guilty acting innocent people I have ever had the displeasure to observe. And if they are innocent of M’s abduction and have absolutely no idea who took her or what has happened to her then I can only believe they are hiding something else or hiding a few other things which they fear will come to light due to the extraordinary media interest but these other things they wish to hide have nothing to do with Madeleine - just maybe bad business that Gerry’s involved in or maybe Kate or Gerry aren’t or weren’t the perfect parents they claim themselves to be and that’s what they wish to hide?

1175. Good question Judge!
October 26th, 2007 at 10:30 pm

I see they are threatening legal action again.

Muddy - Welcome on board!
October 26th, 2007 at 10:29 pm
To Kate McCann: Please sweetie don’t read any more papers or do any more interviews. This is not working out well for you. Please please give it a rest. You can’t win. You simply can’t win!
October 26th, 2007 at 10:28 pm
Can’t quite get over how weird the McC’s seem to be when they open their mouths. Kate in particular sounded and appeared very strange, let alone strained, in that interview. Maybe some of the headlines to the effect that her friends think she’s close to the edge are accurate. As a number of people have pointed out, her wording and overall manner were odd, but that may speak more to her being closer to losing it than to her guilt. (Hold your fire - I’m NOT a proMcCannite.)
Still keeping my fingers crossed for the PJ and a breakthrough in this mess. Hurry it up, guys.

I think Pat Brown wants to get in on the McCann action. Good for her. I think she makes some good points, but I don’t agree with all of them. But it is interesting to read her input here, very very insightful.
I won’t ask her any more questions, least I repeat something she has answered and become annoying, but it would be nice to theorize more about the stranger adduction scenario.
October 26th, 2007 at 10:27 pm
I think Maddie is dead, and that she died long before, they call the cops. Also most of us think she was thrown to the sea, and that is why one day Kate said to the police, to show the body, but nothing i’m telling is new for you. So enjoy your weekend

Afraid not Will. I’m keeping my bones intact as next week I shall be racing the m/bike.
October 26th, 2007 at 10:26 pm
Opps made a mistake in 1164.
I said “so how can a person who has never been convicted of killing anyone be a serial killer”, that should read “how can a person only suspected of one murder be a serial killer”.
October 26th, 2007 at 10:25 pm
Here is a question for anyone brave enough to answer.
Whats the biggest lie you told? Why did you tell it? And how long did you get away with it for?
Please play as it may reveal something relevant.
October 26th, 2007 at 10:25 pm
1172. Sorry it is coping mechanism, not copy…….
October 26th, 2007 at 10:24 pm
1159. My point is that Gerry talking about his work in this odd way and Kate wanting to help other children and their seemingly disconnection to reality is a copy mechanism. And some mistake it as prove of their hardened non-caring criminal heart.
