The McCanns are on the TV in Spain. The show is followed by a phone vote. The people vote, at least some of them do; how many, we are not told. One, two, three..? Gerry is a “cardiologist”
Pages 4 and 5: “Police: Parents are hampering probe.” Angel Galan, head of the Spanish National Police’s kidnap, extortion and murder squad says: “There is no real information to indicate that Madeleine could be in Spain although Mr and Mrs McCann might think so. I think the question is why couldn’t she be in France or in the UK? Why does it have to be Spain, Portugal or Morocco?”
“Drawing that could catch her abductor” – an artist’s impression of a man carrying a child in the vicinity of the McCanns holiday complex on May 3. The man is of average height, of average build, with dark hair and with his facial features not filled in. Do you know him?
The artist was commissioned by the McCanns in light of a person their friend Jane Tanner said she saw on the night Madeleine disappeared

A drawing of a man. The caption: “Hunted…a drawing of man with child in his arms as seen by Jane Tanner”
Page 13: “MADDIE IN ARMS OF SNATCHER. Pyjamas ‘prove it is her’” – The man is 5ft 6. He is 5ft 10 in the Express. He is “slim”. The girl is wearing pink and white pyjamas. The man is in a maroon shirt, camel coloured trousers and black or brown shoes
Says Clarence Mitchell: “We hope this will go a long was to proving the independent eyewitness account that she was taken by someone and the police’s focus on Kate and Gerry as potential suspects is wrong”. See drawing of a man seen by McCanns’ friend
And: “We believe it does show Madeleine in his arms. The description of the pyjamas is accurate enough to believe that is the case.” The McCanns’ friend sees the girl wearing pyjamas like those worn by Madeleine, whom she knows
“GERRY BACK AT WORK” – Gerry McCann is a “cardiologist” – lest we ever forget
DAILY MIRROR front page: “This is the man who took our Madeleine. PARENTS RELEASE SKETCH”

Pages 8 and 9: “Is Kate at breaking point?” – If she cracks up will the papers like her better? “Friends fear for Maddie’s mother after TV ordeal”
“SPANISH EYES” – The McCanns have launched a private “proxy investigation” in Spain. Under Portuguese law it is illegal to use private detectives while an investigation is ongoing
The mystery man who may have taken her” – Mrs Tanner sees the man. She is later “racked with guilt”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE PARENTS ‘HIDING TRUTH’ – 70 per cent of TV viewers thinks McCanns are lying”
Pages 4 and 5: “BODY LANGUAGE SPECIALIST GIVES HIS VERDICT ON KATE – ‘MUM WOULD BE VERY GOOD POKER PLAYER’.” Robert Phipps watches the interview with Kate McCann on Spanish TV. THE TIMES front page: “Madeleine ‘abductor’” – The white man is of “medium build”
Page 9: “’This is the man who took Madeleine away’” – The Times says the new picture bears “no resemblance to Robert Murat”. The picture has been handed to the McCanns’ detectives who are operating across Europe and North Africa

Judge Dread why only Kate?
Also, that wasn’t my question. My question was I read in several new items that Portugal doesn’t have laws like the UK when it comes to child abandonment or negligence? However, I read that the British law permits British citizens to be subject to child endangerment laws regardless of where the offense took place. If I am wrong fine but would like to try and understand if what I read is true or more spin.

In Portugal , what we hear is, this is a Political case ,not a crime case

1315. There are degrees to evil right? Just like there might be degrees to suffering in Hell? Not getting religious just philosophical.

when on this forum did someone first suggest the McCanns complicity in this case other than the child neglect theory
October 26th, 2007 at 11:59 pm
I’m having a difficult time deciding how many are truly evil and how many just appear that way now but may not be so “dark”.

1313 May 2nd.
October 26th, 2007 at 11:58 pm
1310 Maybe they are trying to keep up good relationship with England - just a guess.
October 26th, 2007 at 11:58 pm
Rationalist, no trouble. I wish I had more concrete evidence. Again this is only my theory. I just learned that Judith C has believed this for some time so maybe there are others? If I had the money and didn’t have a little child of my own I would travel to Portugal and England to do some sleuthing of my own. Unfortunately my days of being a gypsy are on hiatus. Have a nice night.

If Jane Tanner is ‘racked with guilt’ then why is she not returning, voluntarily, to Portugal to help the PJ with their enquiries. She knows they have questions for her and the other Tapas9.
Pathetic. Major, big, cover-up and protection of these disgusting people. So hypocritical. Make all the right sounds - ‘racked with guilt’ then run and hide behind their protectors. Vile evil people.
October 26th, 2007 at 11:57 pm
Probably day one, but that’s just a guess here.
October 26th, 2007 at 11:56 pm
what was the earliest day on this forum that someone first questioned the McCanns complicity in this case
October 26th, 2007 at 11:56 pm
And Judge - you are right too! Forgot to add that.
October 26th, 2007 at 11:55 pm
1272 - thea - The sacked PJ wanted to arrest Kate McCann for neglect but the judge ruled against it.
1281 - jacquescousteau - I was answering post 1260 having cast my vote.

Can you tell me why the P.J is afraid of the Mccans ???
October 26th, 2007 at 11:55 pm
1301 Thea Forgive me….it’s 1 am…live in France…got to go to bed…try and tackle it tomorrow…..but forgive me if I’m being obtuse

1269 Judge Dread Says:
1257 - Peter O,
Are you serious? You say
Edit….
Firstly, it is criminal in Portugal as confirmed by the PJ themselves. Secondly it is not alleged, it is fact. Gerry McCann admitted in a BBC interview.
You go on to say “I don’t think they, any of their supporters or apologists have ever really owned up and said it was wrong”.
Kate McCann did in the interview she gave alone just before the 100th day.
Edit…
+++++++++++++++++++++
Yes, I’m serious….
Others have posted here that because the Tapas Bar was on the Ocean Village site itself that what the McCann’s did was not illegal. i.e. They would have to leave the site in order to have committed an offence under Portuguese law. Now, I’m not a lawyer. If you say you are right, then ok, I’ll agree with you. Illegal or not, what they say they did was an appallingly poor parenting decision… and that’s without having your child abducted!
Gerry admitted in a BBC interview…. That’s fine.. what I’m asking you/others to consider is that that is what Gerry and the others “want” us to believe because it then focuses the investigation in a very narrow time window – 9.00-10.00 PM. All I’m challenging here is whether in fact ALL of the children were alive and well inside the apartment during this time? i.e. They HAD to leave the children unattended on this night in order to create the ‘opportunity’ for the alleged abduction to take place. (I know from other sources that they left the children unattended on every evening bar their first night in PDL.)
If Kate has said it was wrong then fine, I’ll concede on that point. My general point is that they keep wriggling on this one.
October 26th, 2007 at 11:53 pm
1284 Stig Good grief …I’m going to bed…Gorrod was there too…and what about his wife? This is doing my head in….I find it really hard to believe a high level cover-up….Why?

Madeleine McCann’s mum at breaking pointBy Vanessa Allen in Praia da Luz

FRIENDS fear Kate McCann is near breaking point as the six-month anniversary of her daughter Madeleine’s disappearance approaches.
SHE and her husband Gerry are “going in opposite directions” as they struggle to cope with life without Madeleine, pictured, it was claimed yesterday.
While Mr McCann is desperate to return to work and regain at least a sense of normality, his wife is said to be increasingly fragile.
Friends say Mrs McCann, 39, is dreading next Saturday which will mark six months since she last saw her daughter, and is falling into “moments of total despair”.
The desperate family yesterday released a drawing of a man a witness claims she saw carrying a child away from the McCann family’s holiday apartment in Portugal on May 3 - the night Madeleine disappeared.
An artist drew the picture after speaking to witness Jane Tanner and asking her what she remembered of the man she saw.
She was was one of the group of friends on holiday with the McCanns and told police she saw a man carrying a bundle away from the apartment and down towards the church in Praia da Luz, at about 9.15pm.
She thought nothing of it until the alarm was raised 45 minutes later, and was said to be “racked with guilt”.
Mr McCann said yesterday the man was about 35.

1292. Thank you Judge. I was being very polite to Pat Brown and she became annoyed in having to repeat herself when I questioned how a NPD would act if their child was kidnapped. So, phooey on her too! I didn’t see the post by Anna, otherwise I would not have asked the question, it just kind of appeared after I had read most of the comments after being away from the computer for more than one hour.
But, no one is perfect……..Politeness goes a long ways on the blog even for big shots.

1253 Butterfly, I felt exactly the same as your friend when I saw McCann being interviewed - when you have been in an abusive relationship, you can spot an abusive man a mile off
October 26th, 2007 at 11:50 pm
892 Canada…
I identify with you. Tolstoy said “happy families are all alike; unhappy families are each unique in their own way.”
To that I would add… and who can truly tell the difference from the outside?
October 26th, 2007 at 11:50 pm
Bianchigirl, If she changed time to 9.15 isnt that when Gerry supposed to be checking in apartment cos at 9.30 he was on his way back!
October 26th, 2007 at 11:50 pm
1291. Rationalist,
I repeat: 2 UK bloggers and 1 Portuguese reporter. No one has named anyone. This is my theory based on a combination of things as I mentioned: non-mainstream information on this case, my intuition and my own knowledge about how government and big business work.
When I have more information I will post it. Right now it is a theory in progress. If I am wrong about it I will apologise without hesitation.
October 26th, 2007 at 11:49 pm
Judge
i can aquaint to that statement and you are 100% right
October 26th, 2007 at 11:49 pm
last question - Did you sedate your children /was there an accident?
What would we answer Kate? No
What would we answer Gerry? No
What did you answer Kate? (shakes head disapprovingly during answer)(Sighs Huh) - You know I’m not even gonna - (gulp) - answer that question I’m afraid (Breathes heavily and rapidly)
What did you answer Gerry? (Interrupts Kate to stop her from talking) I mean th it’s ludicrous. And, you know, (blinks a lot and raises his hand up and down and shakes his head) sort of questions and the publishing of them are nonsence, and we shouldn’t be giving them the time of day. There is absolutely no suggestion um that Madeleine (pauses) or the (stutters and puts head down and closes eyes) children were drugged and it’s outrageous.
Conclusion:
Why is Kate afraid to answer that question?
Why shouldn’t Gerry and Kate give us the time of day?
Did anyone mention drugs?

Anybody notice the likeness between Kate McCann and Heather Mills McCartney - they both got that “sideways” - dont look me in the eye expression - are they related?

The day after Heather mmc appeared in court in a wheel chair ,I posted here that they were of the same cloth
manipulative,selfcentred,greedy,egotistical,vain and plain dodgy!

No good subjecting the Mccanns to hypnosis. They know full well what happened between 18.00 and 22.00 on 3 May.
October 26th, 2007 at 11:48 pm
When I look at this case, I try to remember what I’ve experienced in life, what I’ve seen in my friends and family and even in neighbors, so I can relate and think - does it ring true here, especially about their emotional responses in interviews. Maybe I have a strange family but some of what I’ve seen just rings true - as we all put on these public faces and try to keep it together, and somehow just do odd stuff.
Kate in my eyes is on the verge of being totally psychotic. I’m certain she is looped to her gills on meds and so twitchy and nervous - I understand her attitude since I at one time took meds for anxiety - and it made me most nuts……….
So I am not so quick to think, the only reason, or the best reason, is that she is a lying shrew. Gerry, I don’t like. He reminds me of my ex……….so much for being rational uh?
