Madeleine McCann: Jane Tanner’s eFit, A Spanish Angel And Wearing Pink Pyjamas
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – 70% DON’T BELIEVE McCANNS”
The McCanns are on the TV in Spain. The show is followed by a phone vote. The people vote, at least some of them do; how many, we are not told. One, two, three..? Gerry is a “cardiologist”
Pages 4 and 5: “Police: Parents are hampering probe.” Angel Galan, head of the Spanish National Police’s kidnap, extortion and murder squad says: “There is no real information to indicate that Madeleine could be in Spain although Mr and Mrs McCann might think so. I think the question is why couldn’t she be in France or in the UK? Why does it have to be Spain, Portugal or Morocco?”
“Drawing that could catch her abductor” – an artist’s impression of a man carrying a child in the vicinity of the McCanns holiday complex on May 3. The man is of average height, of average build, with dark hair and with his facial features not filled in. Do you know him?
The artist was commissioned by the McCanns in light of a person their friend Jane Tanner said she saw on the night Madeleine disappeared
THE SUN front page: “PICTURE SENSATION. He took Maddie – MAN SEEN BY McCANNS’ PAL ON FATEFUL NIGHT”
A drawing of a man. The caption: “Hunted…a drawing of man with child in his arms as seen by Jane Tanner”
Page 13: “MADDIE IN ARMS OF SNATCHER. Pyjamas ‘prove it is her’” – The man is 5ft 6. He is 5ft 10 in the Express. He is “slim”. The girl is wearing pink and white pyjamas. The man is in a maroon shirt, camel coloured trousers and black or brown shoes
Says Clarence Mitchell: “We hope this will go a long was to proving the independent eyewitness account that she was taken by someone and the police’s focus on Kate and Gerry as potential suspects is wrong”. See drawing of a man seen by McCanns’ friend
And: “We believe it does show Madeleine in his arms. The description of the pyjamas is accurate enough to believe that is the case.” The McCanns’ friend sees the girl wearing pyjamas like those worn by Madeleine, whom she knows
“GERRY BACK AT WORK” – Gerry McCann is a “cardiologist” – lest we ever forget
DAILY MIRROR front page: “This is the man who took our Madeleine. PARENTS RELEASE SKETCH”
Page 11: “’He was slim with untidy black hair, plastered back. He was hurrying with a child in pink pyjajmaas’” (No songs please)
“’KIDNAPPER’ SEEN BY KATE’S PAL”
Paul Routledge: “All I want to do is put my arms around her and say: ‘there, there’ while she sobs out her grief on my shoulder”
DAILY MAIL front page: “Friends’ fears for ‘increasingly fragile’ Kate”
Pages 8 and 9: “Is Kate at breaking point?” – If she cracks up will the papers like her better? “Friends fear for Maddie’s mother after TV ordeal”
“SPANISH EYES” – The McCanns have launched a private “proxy investigation” in Spain. Under Portuguese law it is illegal to use private detectives while an investigation is ongoing
The mystery man who may have taken her” – Mrs Tanner sees the man. She is later “racked with guilt”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE PARENTS ‘HIDING TRUTH’ – 70 per cent of TV viewers thinks McCanns are lying”
Pages 4 and 5: “BODY LANGUAGE SPECIALIST GIVES HIS VERDICT ON KATE – ‘MUM WOULD BE VERY GOOD POKER PLAYER’.” Robert Phipps watches the interview with Kate McCann on Spanish TV. She is frowning, and expert Phipps says this is indicative of “pain” and stress. Who knew? We do not know if he then voted in the subsequent poll
THE TIMES front page: “Madeleine ‘abductor’” – The white man is of “medium build”
Page 9: “’This is the man who took Madeleine away’” – The Times says the new picture bears “no resemblance to Robert Murat”. The picture has been handed to the McCanns’ detectives who are operating across Europe and North Africa
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “Madeleine ‘abductor’” – This is the man Jane Tanner says she saw at 9:15pm on May 3
THE INDEPENDENT and THE GUARDIAN: No Madeleine news today

well thats it the PJ wont be coming, the case was solved a while ago,by one inspector Amaral who incidentaly is advising the new guy heading up the investigation, that is the case has been solved but looks like it may remain unsolved for a variety of reasons, mainly political pressure for some obscure reason that i doubt we will ever know.i hope justice prevails but as we know it aint a perfect world,to many people of public stature have put their names to the defence of the suspects,it stinks and Madeleine God bless her is almost an aside to the whole charade.i hope Madeleine is safe and well somewhere but the evidence suggests she is not,the public are being taken for a ride here,my ride stops now i am getting of the charade bus, enough is enough,God bless you Madeleine and it is a real tear i have in my eye for you little innocent one.

Why? Political intervention? I do not understand what is going on- the case is ongoing why have they decided not to question them now? They were supposed to be coming this week. It looks as if the pj’s are being forced to back off - to go away we don’t need you anymore.

1240 and 1254 — I’ve always thought Madeleine died while Gerry was playing tennis (late afternoon).

If the PL had anything, they would have kept the old first in command, they keep changing leadership and hinting on a new approach, and truth be told, nothing is new, just more wiretaps and press leaks, but if the Mc’s keep giving horrid interviews, they will go to prison just for being stupid.

The PL are also under the microscope to produce - so they took the best two likely suspects - the Mc’s and Murat and got them in the loop immediately then leaked trash about both and have this huge pedophile bust that brings not much to the table, but the leaks are sufficient to implicate both M’s…….
So they turn up more evidence, or find the body, as if that will happen, and then can say, we had it right all along. Very convenient! One can be the “phony” to flush out the other, when in truth, none right now are any closer to being “reeled” in than the other…….

Peter O and whoever else posted about this
- I disagree that the McCanns have said it is wrong to neglect children.
- there was no reason why they couldn\’t have told people it was wrong from day 1.
The very first interview they gave the interviewer asked them what warning they would give to other parents and they refused to say it was wrong.
Later Gerry gave us accounts of neglecting children in their rooms whilst partying with friends in the garden at home previously- and then an account of how he often mowed the lawn and left them alone. We are talking about under 3\’s here - if you have kids you know this is a shocking statement!
In the majority of interviews they both told us it was a normal thing that they felt comfortable doing.
Just because Kate has now been told to say it is wrong by a PR guy because they realise the general public don\’t buy it - doesn\’t change things!
Where is this video of her apologising? that\’s one I haven\’t seen.

1308 - Peter
They have backed themselves into a corner by constantly changing their stories and making stupid comments. All the wriggling in the world won’t put that straight. Who knows what the end story will be or how many more changes will be made to what has been said to date.
The one thing that can be relied upon is that with every change in their story, the hole gets deeped and getting out that much harder.

More McCann-tics…
http://www.artnet.com/magazineus/reviews/laplaca/laplaca10-26-07.asp
At the fair, the T1+2 gallery featured top new talents like Oliver Clegg, Liane Lang, Fiamma Colonna Montagu, Polly Morgan, Jason Schulman and Petroc Sesti. Most of the works sold on opening day. The delightful Vanessa Branson bought Jose Maria Cano’s Renault Scenic, a encaustic painting of the iconic news photo of the parents of kidnap victim Madeline McCann driving the eponymous vehicle, for £22,000. The purchase was a meaningful one, considering Branson’s brother, Virgin CEO Richard Branson, generously donated £100,000 to help the McCanns search for their missing daughter.
Holy fornicating kee-rist.

Maybe if it weren’t so political, it would make more progress. Politically correct is taking on new meaning here…..political correct Murder Investigation.
