Madeleine McCann: Jane Tanner’s eFit, A Spanish Angel And Wearing Pink Pyjamas
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – 70% DON’T BELIEVE McCANNS”
The McCanns are on the TV in Spain. The show is followed by a phone vote. The people vote, at least some of them do; how many, we are not told. One, two, three..? Gerry is a “cardiologist”
Pages 4 and 5: “Police: Parents are hampering probe.” Angel Galan, head of the Spanish National Police’s kidnap, extortion and murder squad says: “There is no real information to indicate that Madeleine could be in Spain although Mr and Mrs McCann might think so. I think the question is why couldn’t she be in France or in the UK? Why does it have to be Spain, Portugal or Morocco?”
“Drawing that could catch her abductor” – an artist’s impression of a man carrying a child in the vicinity of the McCanns holiday complex on May 3. The man is of average height, of average build, with dark hair and with his facial features not filled in. Do you know him?
The artist was commissioned by the McCanns in light of a person their friend Jane Tanner said she saw on the night Madeleine disappeared
THE SUN front page: “PICTURE SENSATION. He took Maddie – MAN SEEN BY McCANNS’ PAL ON FATEFUL NIGHT”
A drawing of a man. The caption: “Hunted…a drawing of man with child in his arms as seen by Jane Tanner”
Page 13: “MADDIE IN ARMS OF SNATCHER. Pyjamas ‘prove it is her’” – The man is 5ft 6. He is 5ft 10 in the Express. He is “slim”. The girl is wearing pink and white pyjamas. The man is in a maroon shirt, camel coloured trousers and black or brown shoes
Says Clarence Mitchell: “We hope this will go a long was to proving the independent eyewitness account that she was taken by someone and the police’s focus on Kate and Gerry as potential suspects is wrong”. See drawing of a man seen by McCanns’ friend
And: “We believe it does show Madeleine in his arms. The description of the pyjamas is accurate enough to believe that is the case.” The McCanns’ friend sees the girl wearing pyjamas like those worn by Madeleine, whom she knows
“GERRY BACK AT WORK” – Gerry McCann is a “cardiologist” – lest we ever forget
DAILY MIRROR front page: “This is the man who took our Madeleine. PARENTS RELEASE SKETCH”
Page 11: “’He was slim with untidy black hair, plastered back. He was hurrying with a child in pink pyjajmaas’” (No songs please)
“’KIDNAPPER’ SEEN BY KATE’S PAL”
Paul Routledge: “All I want to do is put my arms around her and say: ‘there, there’ while she sobs out her grief on my shoulder”
DAILY MAIL front page: “Friends’ fears for ‘increasingly fragile’ Kate”
Pages 8 and 9: “Is Kate at breaking point?” – If she cracks up will the papers like her better? “Friends fear for Maddie’s mother after TV ordeal”
“SPANISH EYES” – The McCanns have launched a private “proxy investigation” in Spain. Under Portuguese law it is illegal to use private detectives while an investigation is ongoing
The mystery man who may have taken her” – Mrs Tanner sees the man. She is later “racked with guilt”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE PARENTS ‘HIDING TRUTH’ – 70 per cent of TV viewers thinks McCanns are lying”
Pages 4 and 5: “BODY LANGUAGE SPECIALIST GIVES HIS VERDICT ON KATE – ‘MUM WOULD BE VERY GOOD POKER PLAYER’.” Robert Phipps watches the interview with Kate McCann on Spanish TV. She is frowning, and expert Phipps says this is indicative of “pain” and stress. Who knew? We do not know if he then voted in the subsequent poll
THE TIMES front page: “Madeleine ‘abductor’” – The white man is of “medium build”
Page 9: “’This is the man who took Madeleine away’” – The Times says the new picture bears “no resemblance to Robert Murat”. The picture has been handed to the McCanns’ detectives who are operating across Europe and North Africa
DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “Madeleine ‘abductor’” – This is the man Jane Tanner says she saw at 9:15pm on May 3

1455 what ? Says:
Does anybody here think the Pope is in on it
+++++++++++++++++++
Not directly, though I dare say he’s been informed of any potential embarrassment. I’m sure someone reasonably high up will have given a very clear briefing down to the people in PDL as to how the church should be conducting itself. Which is not to imply there’s anything untoward going on.
October 27th, 2007 at 1:35 am
i think we’ve made a step forward in progress
October 27th, 2007 at 1:35 am
McCann should ask his good friend Tanner to undergo hypnosis to help her remember more details about the abductor. It would only cost a couple of hundred quid and if they don’t want to ‘break into’ the Madeleine Fund, I’m sure Richard Branson will pick up the tab in exchange for another bit of free publicity.
October 27th, 2007 at 1:34 am
I see a connection with the Pope, i think this was planned to draw attention away from the negative points of the Catholic church and to create a sense of unity

James Gorrod is a specialist in Property Law and Construction Law at Foot Ansteys in Exeter. Also have offices in Plymouth.
Isn’t Robert Murat in the property business? Wasn’t he in Exeter during the 10 days leading up to Madeleine’s abduction? Wasn’t he said to be rennovating a property? Have these two met before do you think?
Okay we know that but then he says:
Des Taylor - the architect who desinged (sic)the Murat’s place in Praia Da Luz if from Plymouth. Are they the sort that move in the same circles?
Robert Murat’s cousin is called Sally Eveleigh. There’s a Sally Eveleigh in Plymouth who works for a christian adoption agency (Families For Children). Might not be the same one - but interesting.
Did James Gorrod used to live in Leicester? There’s someone the same age and same name here:

Also: Robert’s wife’s sister, Shirley also lives in the Exeter area. Seems he knew her before her sister Dawn.
Bizarre

I think the pope is yes, no ones checked underneathe that big hat for any children, and we all hear what the priests get up to in America don’t we, i believe the vatican is in on it for sure, hopefully JC will interfere like he does with all those other terrible tragedies that happen in the world, he helped out on the tsunami, and i lost my sandwhch once and he was there as a shoulder to cry on, and helped me look for it, such a shame, it was a bacon and sausage sandwhich but the dog (jasper) ate it, but its ok now, i’d rather be me than him right now

The Real Stig.
I feel I have to make a few comments on your constant belief in the McCanns.
You give no ground and refuse to even accept any logical questions that have been asked as immaterial.
Either you are too stubborn to accept that lies have been told or you must still think the world is flat.
I struggle to understand the one tracked, tunnel vision you adhere to.
I think maybe you need to open your eyes a bit wider.

sorry to interupt here can some one tell me how often the mccanns checked on thier children Edit……

Welcome mich.. I doubt your interrupting… Don’t take my timings as absolutely correct, I’m sure others know the exact times…
9.05 PM Gerry checks children
9.30 PM One of the Tapas friends – I THINK Oldfield – listens at the door for any noises
10.00 PM Kate checks and discovers Madeleine is ‘missing’
There was a ‘discussion’ raging in here last night about whether in fact Gerry saw Madeleine at 9.05. Some suggestion about her possibly having wandered of to her parents bed. Try doing a search on yesterdays blog?

To the moderator - posts have been pulled …my post was not supporting deviant activity in any way - I was just asking people to think about the liklihood of international gangs given the evidence? and I know I have been cynical on this message board the truth is just this -I was appalled when the story broke about them leaving their children and that has never left me and I don’t see why you can’t have a night out in a restaurant -especially when on holiday - with your children in tow? In fact it would be more fun than anything

clearly there afraid because they’ve been holding in it so long they might bleed. the real solution here would be for them to go to the hospital (and i know Gerry is a surgeon) and to have a colostomy

I feel compassion for Kate and Gerry when the strain is showing in their faces.
They are holding something back - witholding information.
It must be an awful feeling - you know when you try desperately to hold a poo in as there is no toilet - but you really need to go - imagine that right now.
Pull the face that goes with holding a big poo in - that’s it - now look in the mirror - what do you see?
Do you see the same facial expression as Kate and Gerry? You are afraid to move you facial muscles in case it all comes out - you are rigid with fear.
I can sympathise with them - but they are creating their own pain - there is a toilet nearby - they can let it all out if they want - and it will be such a relief they will be able to relax for once.
So go on Gerry and Kate - got to the local police station and let it all out!
You will feel much better - you will sleep at night - and everyone will love you for telling the truth and ending the nightmare of seeing your constipated torturous pain .
Go on, we’ll even hold your hand through it!
Goodnight everyone - sorry for that but it is the best analogy I could think of!
October 27th, 2007 at 1:15 am
sorry to interupt here can some one tell me how often the mccanns checked on thier children only I was led to believe they checked every 10-15 minutes or so but i’ve just read this on the miror web page and according to what has been written it makes it 45 minutes from when the children where last seen .
“We believe this was Madeleine being carried away by a man from the apartment, so we place great importance on having these pictures produced.” Ms Tanner, one of seven friends eating at a tapas bar in Praia da Luz with Kate and Gerry on the evening of May 3, told Portuguese police she saw the man when she went to check on her own children at about 9.15pm.
She said she did not realise the relevance of what she had seen at the time. At around 10pm Kate checked on Madeleine and two-year-olds Sean and Amelie - and found the four-year-old missing.
October 27th, 2007 at 1:14 am
yeah of course, because a bunch of people with nothing better to do can really bring down the new Myra Hindley and Ian Brady just by saying they think it was the parents, i’ve had better games of cluedo, face it, there keeping it alive themselves to try and justify that they had nothing to do with it, and to make a fortune on the way
